In our place, too, I´m like my Mum, made two pieces...
We asked a stranger to take this pic.
Mum in a wheelchair, beaten by cancer, our last holiday together.
She passed 31st on December that year (2011).
She would turn 80 today...
I feel so small.
Had to call her youngest brother back then (Bro and I took turn on the last siblings) - it was...
HIS BIRTHDAY.
I had no idea.
He cheerfully said, "thank you for remembering my birthday!".
(he took off from family 10 years ago)
What to answer.

Two posts on one day and blogger changed it all again... no idea if it works.

Alles gute zum Geburtstag to your mom. No matter how old we get, no matter how long parents have been gone, we miss them.
I often find myself thinking of my late mother.
Your story about your mother brought tears to my eyes.
Nice Henry photo.
Thank you all, what more to say?
I thank you.
I miss my mom a lot. She passed away 20 years ago when she was only 70.
I regret all the extra time I could have spent with her, for the words I didn't say, for some troubles I gave her and for so many other little things that could have made her happy.
She was a wonderful mom, grandma and wife.
...I'm not good at remembering dates!
I really miss my mum too. Sending good thought your way.
I miss my mum too, she passed in Nov. 2015, she was 85. She was living in San Diego where my sister and her family lives.
It's so hard to lose parents. And I hate that the corona virus is keeping families apart!
Did you tell him about your Mom? This is a tough call. And tough losing your mom too. I lost my dad 17 years ago and it is still hard.
Sorry. Glad you had chance to wish your brother a Happy Birthday.
Coffee is on and stay safe
Black Knight, I´m so with you... in all.

Tom, me neither, actually, I once forgot Ingo´s Birthday even. But these dates stuck.
____
RedPat sending them back, sad you, also, have that loss.
____
Bill, it´s always too early.

Spare Parts and Pics, yes, to both. Darn virus, that.

Erika, I had to. We both cried. He was her youngest Brother and he looks exactly like mine. My Brother broke the 10-years-away-being by inviting him to his wedding, he had a paper with his name at the airport, too funny, they looked like father and son! My Dad died 2002, still hard, will always be, I guess.
____
Dora, it would´ve been my Mum. My brother is in his 40´s ;-)
oh no, what a day that was, I agree with you, what do you say to someone mentioning their birthday?
Not sure how I missed thism but it brought tears to my eyes.
It's good to have had good parents. I never had the pleasure,
Amy, I think I started crying. And he knew then.
It was an awful day.

Elizabeth, sorry. It just had to get out.

David, oh, I´m very, very sorry!!!
I think of my mom everyday. We were best friends and talked everyday. She is with my sister and baby brother. Miss them all very much.
A sad memory. It is not easy no matter what age or circumstances. I called my 95 year old aunt after my mother died (at 93) and when my cousin handed her the phone I told her mom had died and (it turned out) my aunt was hanging a picture and she fell of the ladder in shock!! (But she did not hurt herself seriously -- I went to see her later. Not all of us are that tough!)
Oh, Nicole, that sure must hurt endlessly. Hugs from here...
____
Sallie, oh.
But... respect - on a ladder at age 95?! I never dare to step up, never did! Glad nothing happened, a miracle, actually! You must have a strong family.
