Winter Needs To End

These are my "slippers" of many years. They are thick and warm as beneath is but the cellar so the floor is like really cold.

They are thick and warm and... the Mr. has had it, he wants winter to be over and retire!

OK. Reckon this is due to my slightly uneven hip. I am supposed to wear an insole of 3 mm - who does that?

And... those of you in the Northern hemisphere... aren´t you sick and tired, too, of grey, cold, monotonous, ever-lasting dark days?
I want thongs/flip-flops, whatever you name them or even better, roam around barefoot on our wooden floors. The sun setting late in the evening and being up early, too!

Shoes do not lie!

The series...

"The tastiest dishes with the funniest names

Scotch Woodcock

This dish, with a strange name that probably comes from a dig by the English against the Scots, consists of buttered toast with anchovy paste and scrambled eggs."

I pass... you?

 Henry 🦁

Have a cozy Sunday...

At least now I am warned! I once nearly ordered "Kutteln" cause it sounded so nice. That´s another word for "offal"!!!!

We are in a snow storm mode lately. Like 2 or 3 a week. It's still snowing now. AUGH. I am ready for at least weeks of sunshine and no snow. Sorry about your slippers. I have Snoopy ones like that, but I got them last Christmas so they're still good. I like deer on yours. And I've never heard of Scotch Woodcock. I'd probably try it, but I'm not sure about anchovies. Have a great rest of your weekend and start to the new week Iris. hugs-Erika

Eeek snow storms!!! Luckily I can only remember the one from 1977.
1972 it was so cold, water-pipes burst (I was told, I happily pooped my diapers back then). I just cannot anchovies going with eggs... To a great rest-weekend and yay to a new week, too, hugs

LOL, Mr. and Mrs. Deer do appear to be done! I have an old pair of slippers I wear every day (but no deer) that are starting to fall apart. I'm going to miss them!

You definitely need new slippers! Those have more than done their job.
I have enjoyed winter, and oddly for me, I am in no rush for Spring this year. Usually I am rarin' to get out in the gardens, but just not feeling it yet. For me, that usually means we are in for a not so great Spring, with late freezes, etc. Or maybe it's just because I am uncertain how I will manage with this knee. Anyway, more snow is coming our way this week.
Ummm...anchovy paste and scrambled eggs...I'd try it. lt might be good!

Iris Flavia said...

Yes, I´ll miss mine, too - or I keep them... maybe one more winter...

No, I need Spring! ;-)
At least you could enjoy winter, or rather, can! Sorry the reason is you knee though!
Let me know how the toast was. I just cannot imagine to having anchovies at all...

I'm off kilter too. I have a little lift that goes in one shoe. I never notice it and it does seem to help.
