I´m on holiday and still jet-lagged, I am sorry, dear Nicole, this is all I can come up for for your challenge! From freezeing temps to the heat of summer in one sec is a bit tough on me, plus I could not sleep on the bus, planes or inbetween and I am not 20 anymore, this is the best I could do.
So, this is for Nicole´s FFO,,, I am a bit limited, so just this and then some funnies, I try to get my brain together...
A few:
I´ll get myself together soon, I promise, so far have a great Friday... it is Friday, right? And I am 8 hours ahead from Germany, right?
I drove Ingo nuts on the planes cause I could not eat, my body is out of it´s body.
To help you understand and yes, say "you chose this", Monday we got up early, via Uber to the Flixbus station as there was too much snow to drag the luggage to the tram.
8 hours to Frankfurt main train station then blablabla (Ingo managed it all) in the frickin`cold to the hotel.
A stale beer, the robot.servers learned not much in the two years.
Next morno to the airport via... dragging the luggage through the icy cold and then shuttle bus....
Waiting, waiting, on the plane - Ingo got the best seats, just the two of us at the back of the plane - and, since the plane was rather empty we got asked if we want "better" seats - heck, no!
After boarding 15 hours to Singapore, then after 3 hours 5 hours to Perth, then run to Transperth (handy!!!) run to Perth CBD, run through the train station to catch the train to Warwick, run, catch the bus to Madeley - find the new, not so great Cabin and be WIDE AWAKE.
So sorry, not myself yet.
Internet
only now... The Caravan Park has no WiFi and it was some act to get
internet on Ingo´s phone as hotspot because... German. We have 3G -
Australia has 5G.... Germany... behind the rock.
Have a great Friday,,,

...Iris, enjoy your summer!
Thank you, Tom, today is BOOM with jetlag...
Your drawing is fun. I think you inadvertently did a caricature of your mom. I really like it.
Have a great time in Perth.
Well done on your mom's portrait Iris! Get some rest and enjoy your vacation! -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
Thank you, we just fell asleep in the middle of the day...
Thank you - as old peeps do we fell asleep...
Hello Iris,
I am the same traveling, my body goes out of whack.
Sleep is hard to get. I enjoyed the book shop video, it is great to see the community helping out. The Jagger/McConnell comparison had me giggling. Enjoy your vacation and the nice weather. Take care, enjoy your day and happy weekend.
Thank you, Eileen, yes body is a bit down the drain indeed! To a happy weekend!
Iris get some rest and then enjoy your wonderful trip! I love your drawing! It's wonderful! Have fun and enjoy each moment. All the best my friend!
Thank you; Maria, hope tomorrow back to normal :-)
Traveling is great, BUT you put it correctly how exhausting just getting to where you want to be can be. And then you'll have a lot of time to enjoy the warmth...I am jealous because I don't mind cold but our lately is ridiculous. and I love your sketch of your mom. I think we all understand...Have a safe and wonderful time away. Until your next post. hugs-ERika
I'm glad you are out of the cold and snow and into the warm. I know exactly what you mean about being exhausted and I'm sure dealing with the snow and all didn't help. As for your sketch, three cheers!
Enjoy the summer-hugs how long will you be there?
I did think of you in the warm this morning, Iris. it was -20˚C here this morning. I hope you adjust quickly to the time change.
I love the Mick Jagger joke!
Glad you finally arrived even though you are tired. Plenty of rest will help you get back to normal. The mailbox video was hilarious. Enjoy the nice and warm/hot weather.
Thank you, Erika. Middle of the night and wide awake in the heat. If it wasn´t for mossies I´d be outside .- warm vibes are sent over hugs
Oh, Jeanie, I had but a shopping list! But... it´s kinda funny as I think of it- Mom never wrote a list.. she said, "go buy, bread, and... " hups, customer coming in and I had to wait and wait...
Thank you will do - for 5 weeks:-)
First my dear friend. Your portrait is amazing! You choose do create a quite difficult image and you nailed it. A smile with teeth is very tough to accomplish. I love your portrait and thing you did a fantastic job. Now for the traveling. Ohhhh uuuhhhggg and holy crap. Way too much for me. Running, pulling luggage through snow. EEEKKKK. However, you are young and now you are in the land of sunshine. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. Thank you for sharing with FFO and the portrait challenge.
-20C, RedPat?! OMG1!!!! We just watch about fromage in French, so exhausting as my French is not good anymore, It´s in the middle of the night, too...
Thank you, well resting.... oh we´re all out and about and... exhausted! But... we chose to do this, right? No complaints! It is HOT, yippeeeeee...
Thank you, dear host! I did my best nearly falling asleep over it. Mom never did a shopping list I had to wait inbetween her serving customers, so - by accident! - this was the paper to use! Yippeeya... so warm I woke up!
I don't know if I could sit in a train for 8 hours unless it's really good scenery especially in the cold of Winter. Your mum looks so pretty in the photo though.
Dear friend Iris, I am always happy to see your art!
The deer....poor thing! LOL!!! Good for them to survive.
Sending you much love and warm hugs.
Travelling is so tiring... but I know you'll have a great time.
All the best Jan
You certainly captured your Mom's happiness on her wedding day! I love the bookstore video (so heartwarming) and the mailbox video (those guys have too much time on their hands, LOL). Enjoy your time in Australia!
Well, no other way to Frankfurt other than train.... "in the photo", LOL
Dear friend Linda, thank you and much love and really warm hugs to you! 36C!
So yes to both!
Thank you and yes to both, helping and having too much time! :-) To warm weather!
That video with the shrinking mailbox was funny. I'm able to sleep while travelling and mostly wake up just in time, but also still fall asleep in the middle of the day here at home. Take a day and get your body clock reset.
I hope you are rested by now and your body clock is re-set. Traveling is extremely tiring. Especially flying. I like to get the train wherever possible (not to Australia obviously).
Only 3G in Germany? We have 5G here in Spain also.
Thanks for the funnies. I got a bit 'down' due to all that awful weather, but laughing picked me up. The shrinking mail box was very funny and so good that the mail man had a sense of humor.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend,
Lisca
Das war eine lange Reise... für mich ist dieser Teil immer der schlimmste, aber leider nötig um von A nach B zu kommen. Ich wünsche dir eine wunderschöne Zeit und einen erholsamen Urlaub.
Oh LOL ... I laughed all the way through your post and believe me I know what traveling past the dateline can do to your body. And yes, it will take a few days of around the clock sleep to reset your body clock and even after all of that, you will still be tired. But, it is all worth it, right? If not, we wouldn't do it so ENJOY!!! And OH ... Doing your Mother's wedding portrait on the shopping list has to be a first. Did she love it ... or did you even show it to her 😍
