I still have to check all movies I took, but some Saturday soon I hope to have "my" Magpie on!
I had pukka peppermint & licorice tea from Madeley in it.
And that´s my ticket for Elizabeth´s T. Here are some fun facts (also... that Aussie/UK-accent - oh, do I miss that!):
The journal:
Sent a pic of the cuppa - fK: "What do you mean with Magpie - the program?"
It gets scarier - her "wife"/girlfriend just started with a program named like that!
Tuesday: TV-morning-news: Australia and EU made a deal in... Can-ber-ra. OUTCH!
Yes. not Sydney ;-) The Capital, Canberra...
I remember 1995 when a man asked where we head to next - I said that and he grumbled very loud, "that´s CANBRA!!!!" Warwick is Warrick and Cockburn... Coburn. In case count the stops on Transperth online first!
Wednesday: The
gas boiler-man was here on.the.dot (German, eh) and kept whistling and
singing on the job! I said the thing sometimes makes noises - "well,
means 'she' is at least still alive" - so great when you love your job! Offered a drink, nah he just had and sent him off him
with a fiver (€).
The thing making the noise? A Perth-hanger.
fK called. Nice chat. I.am.not.lonely.
I´m done editing all my Perth-photos. Now next I´ll have a look at Ingo´s. With movies I have a funny number: 1.234!
Not so funny: Feel sick.
Thursday: The
chimney sweep was here.
Checked extra close as I said, only
yesterday the boiler got checked.
Reported all is OK. Who thought of
that.
Wow, am I glad we´re home. Cyclone Narell heads towards Exmouth and might turn into a class 5, that is the highest category with winds up to 200 km/h or more.
I remember the ranger and his dog there...
I remember the ranger and his dog there...
Up north in Karratha caravan parks get evacuated. For Denham predicted category 3. She might hit Perth, "only" with flood risk. All events get relocated, postponed or cancelled. Scary... Other a lazy, sick day.
Friday: Bro called :-)
1C / 33F. Was grocery shopping (on foot) - for over an hour my feet and legs were still cold. Spring??? Sitting with three layers on - inside and am still cold.
Ingo gave me a "new" DVD-player he "found" at work, so I can watch again. Got back to "HAVEN".
Still sick, asked Ingo for help. Got tablets, plums and ... flowers! The latter as in:
Hihi, note the brolly in the postcard to the left? It says "Schietwetter", a slack saying for bad weather, coming from "shit"...
Because...
My Dad was an optometrist and hence named me "Iris", Mom thought it´s about the flower!
So I had it combined. Ingo was on my Mom´s side that day!
(mM: "Be glad your Dad was no heart-surgeon, your name´d be 'Aorta'...")
But mainly I got the flowers because...
All things crooked end up here - they need a home, too, right? And Gerbera are one of my favs!
Weekend: Saturday: Ingo´s Dad called, I peek in, Ingo sleeps. FIL: "It is 4p.m. - who sleeps at this time?!" LOL. Finished the book "Braunschweig in the Middle Ages".
Forgot to take the pedometer but, after having been sick did so many chores and groceries, that was more than 10 000 steps - felt good! (Teddy on the laundry is fine!)
Sunday: Löwenzahn, Die Maus and the Fairy Tale - a day of rest.
We´re back to SUMMER-time!
Munchy:

33F is really cold. I couldn’t bear it. Hawaii is 66-75F, which is perfect for our winter. Anyway, my father named me Glenda after an actress. Gigi is my pseudonym. Haha.
Nah, that is not warm enough for me ;-) I´m more 100+ type.
Glenda is a nice name, too.
I love that gas boiler man!
Hello Iris,
Love the magpie and the video. Your sketches are fun. Beautiful flowers and the ice cream looks yummy. Does Henry have a tattoo on his face. Take care, have a great day!
He really sang! And he knew I´m in the next room, it was so refreshing!!!! I grinned all the time.
Hello Eileen, yes, Magpies (when not in breeding season) are the cutest!! Oh, Henry sometimes has an arty side :-) To a great day!
...I always love my job, that's why I worked until I was 71!
I'm still waiting for our ice cream stands to open because I am ready. I am also ready for it to get and stay warm, more than a day or two. But now hot. I know you like hot. And I want to mention, that if I didn't live in the US, I wouldn't visit with the current president in power either. I don't even like to call him a president. Have a super rest of your T day and end of March too. Tomorrow it's April-hurrah! hugs-Erika
That is wonderful, Tom!
I prefer the name "Orange" ;-) One time I want to visit your country! And yes.... to warmer weather, soon! Again I´m wearing 3 layers! Inside. To a great, last March day, oh, time runs... hugs
No Way - Had No Idea And Really Hadn't Thought About Your Name - Dummy Me Figured It Was The Beautiful Flower - You So Rock My Dear
All The Best ,
Cheers
Beautiful mug! And I really enjoyed that video about the magpie. Who knew? I knew they were intelligent but that they were self aware I had no idea. Interesting.
Great that you had boiler and chimney checked!
Awww lovely flowers from Ingo. Including an iris... The gerbera is my favorite flower too.
Ice cream? You gotta be joking! Surely it's too cold for ice cream.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca
Your drawings are so good, Iris. I like your Magpie mug.
I’m looking forward to the first Dairy Queen of the season — the local DQ just opened for the season this month. (It often opens in a snow storm, though our weather has been pretty nice).
Welcome to my late Mom´s club, my dear friend - hugs and Cheers (from my Dad and I)
We have no chimney - that is how they make money in Germany still - they check the boiler! And you cannot decline. He got no tip from me... Imagine if I worked in another town - I would´ve had to take hours off to be home! Happened each time when I worked in Wolfsburg still!
Yes, Magpies are cute and clever! And the ice cream.... oh, it was a sunny day!
Thank you very much, RedPat and yes, I sure love that mug!
Yes, it was weird the Italian guys are already back with their ice-cream! I mean.. ccccold... But people buy! They do make wonderful ice-cream, this was cinnamon.
Love your magpie mug, very cute. Still get 2 magpies visiting me and getting a walnut from me. Luckily cyclone Narelle didn't affect Perth, but the weather has cooled a bit and we've been having a lot of rain.
They eat walnuts? Just like my Peanut (Squirrel)!
Glad you were not in trouble, flood-wise.
When I learned they evacuate Caravan parks way up North I thought, ohhh-weee...
What a fun and busy week. The gas-boiler man made me smile. Cool tattoo and I had to laugh at Aorta. Your flowers are so very pretty. Still too chilly for me to have ice cream. Happy T Day
Thank you, yes, the gas-boiler man was fun! My parents sure would not´ve approved of any tattoo... But Dad also chose my second name with care, assuming my hair will turn reddish!
It was warm-ish in the sun :-)
Nice mug
Love your mug, it's a beauty!
Dear friend Iris, I love ❤️ your sketches and mug, and everything. Love and hugs 🫂 🤗
I love your magpie mug and the video, too. I like your Iris tattoo. It works in both worlds. Loved your calendar pages, especially the singing gas boiler man. Thanks for sharing your mug and week with us for T this
Tuesday, dear Iris.
It been a short while since I seen magpie.
That is a beautiful mug.
There are often Magpies in the garden.
All the best Jan
Your magpie mug is very shiny! I like all the flowers from Ingo, but sorry you have been sick. A new DVD player! I might watch Haven again after I get through Supernatural, which is taking a long time because I only watch after the news until bedtime, not at all during the day. I am just starting season 4 tonight. I love the journal drawings. All the magpies around here know me because I talk to them and I never get swooped.
Yes!
And the real ones, Bill... so chatty!
Thank you, dear friend Linda - warm hugs and love on the way.
Dear host, thank you. The boiler man kept me grinning all the time! My parents would´n´t have approved of any tattoo, though - but yes, it works for me. And.... to Magpies!
We don´t have them in Germany.
Oh, lucky you, Jan - sad I´ve never seen one here!
LOL, do you have the new Supernatural already? Yes, I answered, too and the Magpie kept chatting and chatting, soooo sweet!
There's a NEW Supernatural???
I think so!!!! Well, not new, MORE! But I wait, I still am at Death in Paradise :-)
