Trying To Be Happy

The weather was but shi##y.
Ingo had two weeks off work and NOW it´s getting warmer, now that it´s over...

Did we go swimming in a lake? (Brrrr, NO!) - Shopping? (Masks?! NO).

So, the ole archives it is.
Maybe summer is not the right time to reflect on life but is this summer??? 13C right now (OK, morning, and at least sunny).
One of the coldest summers I remember.

2011. September 19th. Bornhausen.
Do you know The Simpsons-episode where Homer gets lost in a corn maize?

We went to the village! It was my Mum´s (very last) Birthday.
It hurts to write this.

So on to some happy pics, shall we?

This is Ingo´s parent´s village, they have real cows there (I grew up in a small town nearby, there were no animals).

More to come, if you like.

No Henry. This was Bornhausen.

And my Parents in Law sure have it, may I present...

Yes, fall in love, I did!!!
Every.Single.Time.!!

Imagine. Me, being afraid of dogs... (huh? no, still same story, no worries)...
Me standing there, admiring the kitchen, watching FIL in... EEK preparing lunch... (Tongue!!! Ewww!) and suddenly... something HOT touches my hand!!!

Jep, jumpy me... JUMPED!!!
Doggy was going "huhhhhh!!!" And FIL. He laughed.

Frida is her name, a boxer, and she just NEEDED her proper "hello".
Do you know what happens once you give in?

"Stay" is a forgotten word.
Do you know how much a boxer drops her ... the German word is "Sabber", my trousers were wet. (But who can deny that sweet look?).

"Thank you", Corinna. We won´t visit.

MIL said now that I don´t have a Mum no more she´ll step in. Corinna, huh...

Same in your place?

Life... it´s so darn difficult.

I try to be happy. And thankful.

Once you give in to a dog it is all over. You just gotta love them. (I know as you you know I have 2). And Ingo looks like a real farmer. I got lost in a corn maze last fall. That brings back good memories to me too. Sorry yours are sad but yo should b happy you had those memories. Have a great Saturday! Hugs-Erika

Erika, I know!!! What to do next time? Frida will... she is BIG!!!
And WHY do dogs want to lick a human´s face???
What to do when you have sunscreen all over and they lick that?!
Oh, I´ll go as the masked man next time ;-)
Just not through a corn maze, I might scare (crow) people off ;-)
Hugs and a happy Saturday to you!

That really is a super cool kitchen Iris, you couldn't get more retro 💛 I can't believe how cold your winter has been, I so wish we could swap, still haven't worn my coat yet this winter, nor a scarf or beanie, I feel deprived of a proper winter 😉 xx

Grace, LOL, it should... I get it! :-)
It´s really like winter here, like yours! A "mini-winter" ;-) xx

Someday things should get better and you can go hang out in that stylish red kitchen again. And there'll be hugs!!

Stay safe, all of you. <3

Not sure how I missed this. I used to have a great dog, but he wasn't a licker. He would carry my hand in his mouth if he wanted to show me something. He was a retriever, and I loved him to tears. I've always had a cat, though. Gotta LOVE cats. they are SO independent and clean up after themselves.

Oh, dee Nambiar! My glasses are a tad dirty "A tad". And I misread your comment as in "and there´ll be bugs"!!!
Gave me a good laugh! :-)
You please stay safe, too - hugs!!

Elizabeth he ... doesn´t that hurt?! But not a licker sounds wonderful, I hate getting licked, especially in the face. And being jumped at. I know they only want to show affection that way and I´ve read cats bite to show love.
Weirdos! ;-)
Inka just knocked me over, she never learned. Big dogs, small girls, not good!
Cat, please!
