The darn toilet-problem in the apartment I rent out is still not solved.
But!
I sent a Braunschweig-paper-postcard to the company who tried to help with the problem, as a thank you earlier.
I was about to call the woman who rents when my phone rang. It was said company.
At first the lady said, "thank you very much for the postcard, that was a first!" (can you believe that?!).
"Behind my back" she´d called the house´s management (I´m not friends with but related to as in half cousin and she knows I, like many others, do not get along well with that "management"), the new bill goes to them (!! YAY) as it seems to be a problem of the house and she only wanted to let me know.
See. A little gesture went a long way, huh.
Be friendly, it comes back (is that so-called Karma?)
I cannot believe this was the first thank-you-postcard they received, it ain´t that difficult/expensive!

A postcard, pffft. When I got huge help from the guys whom I can turn to anytime there I once made a "care parcel", - Braunschweig wine, Braunschweig Mum, Braunschweig marmelade, Braunschweig cookies, not that expensive and I can call/e-mail them whenever I need help they are there (they got a postcard, too, for helping me with that darn loo-problem).
Be nice to each other and show you appreciate their help and do not take it for granted, right.
Boy, I smiled big (that lady who rents chews off your ear when you call her, too. No, she is nice, but lonely).
Oh, I SO hope that loo-problem gets solved! It affects the washing-machine, also.
The lady renting is 80 years old, sick and I feel for her. She said otherwise she loves the place (it´s where my late Mum wanted to move into).
Message: Send paper-postcards as thank you-notes - people still love it these days (or especially these days, my Bro sent me loads of pics from their holiday via Whats App and I loved it. He said: "Instead of a paper-postcard" - both would´ve made me even happier!).
Oh, boy. I just wrote a paper-letter to my tennant as I cannot reach her via phone.
As sender I nearly put my oooold home-address (aka when I lived with my family)!!!
How weird is that? Maybe cause I thought of my Mum?
Soon off to lunch with my T 🍔😀. He has a day off working from home and has to come to the company. He calls my beautiful Braunschweig "Tetris-city" as he tends to get lost here often 🤣.
And... "me, too", even Ingo, it´s a crazy, old, huge city!

River, it´s an old house and that´s 5th floor - the pipes are older than me!!! 🤣
So, it´s fixed in 5th floor, but if in 4th water cannot get down, ... 💩 comes up!

It sounds like there is a blockage further down the pipe, on a lower level or even at ground level. When a problem occurs at a higher level, any plumber worth his $$ would check right down to the ground and further if the original blockage is at ground level, then the outgoing pipes need to be cleared. Being such an old building, I would think that new pipes would be on the list of things to do by whoever owns it.
