Lille Family Time - Not Straight Ahead

It will come as no surprise that Tom again inspired me or my brain, it flashed right through with last Willy-Nilly, here is a screenshot, right away the first pic! (I have Tom´s OK for this)

I was still having my company car and payed a visit to Bro on 25th of December.
In Germany that is the day after Christmas Eve - Santa had been busy with the presents on 24th already - he needed to hop through chimneys in other countries, so I skipped bringing milk and cookies (kidding).

See... our hair is alreay turning red-ish.
Dad was a clever man calling me "Flavia" (flame-blonde. Turned out more flame-brown, though).

The road is curvey, very curvy. There are warning signs.
When I came through to the left  there was a car upside down into the direction I drove (we drive on the right side of the road). A rather narrow road.

I drove as far to the right as I could, warning-lights on, I even took the warning west and after making sure no car is coming - this was just before entering Bro´s village - went slowly over, afraid of what to find.
Inside a man. No blood. No movement. WHAT TO DO??? I am small!

Luckily two others came - men, luckily -  and stopped, I ran back to the car and we agreed I call 112.
And can you believe that dude told me off?!
My description was not precise enough! Did he want cm/inches?! As the others were still TRYING I could not give better infos. I really got angry. I try to help and get told off!!!

OK, maybe he was in a bad mood having to work on Christmas, not my fault!

In the end the door opened - from inside!!! - and a young dude crawled out, unharmed apart from shock.
Imagine what could have happened!
I did!
A reason why I never know what´s worse, Autobahn or country road.

And I HATE looking. I fear seeing blood and all and not be able to help directly.
(and yes, I went to courses for first help)

I hopped back in and drove to Bro. I had not realized... I was shaking all over.
What did Bro do - in front of his back then young kids?

Offer me a Schnapps!!! 🤣 I asked for tea. Duuuude, I´m here by car!

It was a Merry Christmas, no one was hurt but metal and plastic (and maybe pride).

A bit too small, that sweater on me - and too large for Bro two years later.
Did you share clothes with your Siblings/Cousins etc, too?
Where you the giver or receiver, what were your thoughts?

Now that I think of... that was the last Christmas I visited. I gave the company car back in 2018. And last time THEY visited after Christmas... must be 10 years ago, too.
It´s 60km...

...this sure is a Christmas to remember. I can understand why you don't like to drive. Be well.

Thank you, Tom. I am luckiest my bosses accept this as well!!!
Sad and dumb, though, as it cuts my freedom...

A rather not so merry Christmas, I would think. I'd be shaking, too.

No one was injured and that dude hopefully has learned to not race!
Reckon he was maybe 17 or 18 and had to tell his parents...
Merry Christmas (as said, he was "fine", health-wise)

That's quite the story. But seems like sometimes you try to do the right thing and get yelled at for it. It happens to me too. Hope your weekend is going well. hugs again-Erika

Seeing an accident can be traumatic.

That accident must have been scary. Good that you got to your brother's ok and I'd be happy for a little Schnapps. My Auntie, Ma's sister, had 2 children close in age to my brother and myself. My brother was the oldest, then Cousin J (boy), a year younger than my brother, Cousin D (girl) four years younger than my brother, and me, 6 years younger than my brother. Because the boys were close in age, and D and I were close in age, Ma and Auntie bought things in groups of 4. And everything was handed down to me. So, one Easter, we all got stuffed bunnies. When the others outgrew their bunnies, I ended up with 4 bunnies. I wore D's hand-me-downs, especially her school uniform blouses (we both went to a parochial school and had to wear the same style blouse) Because I wore all the hand-me-downs, Auntie used to call me the Rag-Picker. I didn't like the nickname much back then, but I'd take another day of hearing her call me that now.

Erika, I assume he was grumpy cause he missed his family on Christmas - I don´t think it was personal... hugs to that!

Bill, yes, I usually, if help is already there, look away. I don´t understand those who stop and even take pics....

CJ, Rag-Picker 🥰
Oh, glad it wasn´t a story about a horrible accident but this!!!
Here we don´t have school uniforms. So some kids fight about who has NIKE, ADIDAS or whatever expensive stuff. I love your story!
Even very young kids who just learn to walk get such shoes, what dumb parents...

Accidents are always scary, even without people still in the car.
I shared clothes with my sister, she got new things and I wore what she grew out of. I did also get new things, but not as much until I grew bigger than her and I was working by then so I bought my own clothes.

Wasn´t it frustrating to wear the "old ones"? And... had your sister hence have to be extra-careful? I could imagine that wouldn´t have been fun for her, either...
