My teamlead says the craziest things "always" happen to me.
She is correct.
Ingo lighted the small BBQ and then I saw... that thing is on fire!!!
Fireman Ingo yelled, get the big gloves!
I ran, he put the small BBQ into the bigger one, problem solved.
Teamwork, I saw, he did.
Sadly no space for my food, but what the heck, I was not really hungry. It was "4 1".
But I had a great idea...
Ingo had a (sadly not Cuban) cigar and we shared a sip of 7 year old Cuban rum.
Ahhh, those days, when the coffee in Cuba had a note of rum.
And instead of hopping to stupid LOUD MUSIC we watched The Discovery Channel after wonderful days in Varadero in our room (we don´t get that channel here in Germany), where we used one of the two beds and the "maid" thought we were newly weds, hahaha.
You can be in love after many years still and use ONE bed.
Here in Braunschweig we still have my Brother´s youth-bed.

I don´t know what Kaba really is, something from the early 70´s and hence perfect for Ingo who is a bit older than me and remembers those times much better (I never had a sweet tooth, I asked for chips at age 4...).
That other thing is bread!!!
I tried one "chunk" cause I had just a very small lunch, remembered to take a pic after I had one quarter already.
One is Bresso, a cheese Ingo brought, we haven´t had in ages! Ahhh, la vie!
The other 2 are chicken breast with horse radish.
Was too much, 2 still sit in the fridge.
Evening:
And then grilled cheese.
There is no life without cheese, right, that was the dessert of the day (for me).
Today likely rain and thunder instead of BBQ.
Good. No need to water the flowers and the "bread" is used. (I covered the coal-BBQ, of course) .

Yes, Babies, but there will be others (after all we have a firefighter for in case... reckon I need to buy a back-up BBQ...!!!! It was hilarious, that thing... oh, boy.

After all she complained she misses me when I don´t call...

Our balcony-floor is made of wood-panels, a fire would be not funny, really...
Addendum, just to show you the panic: I had to put the gloves on his hands.... Left, right, huh???? I sure will not qualify as firefighter, I PANIC.
And certainly the little "legs" of the small, broken, on fire-BBQ had their own life still.
It was like a bad comedy.... If the floor was not wooden I might´ve laughed....

You can keep the cheese. I don't like cheese (though there are a few I will eat if they are cooked). I'll happily eat the bread. Your German breads always look so delicious, and I won't pass up the milk chocolate candy. Thunderstorms predicted here for late afternoon. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
At least nobody got burnt, fast thinking saved the day. Your flowers are looking fabulous. Weather here is very cool and spotty rain.
Oh, I could live on cheese -- and quite often, it seems I do. My favorite. Pretty flowers and that bread looks fabulous!
Our deck is wooden too so I would be nervous having a BBQ up there. Lucky that you have an in-house fireman, Iris.
Fast thinking with that fire-your post has me hungry-we eat our main meal at 2 pm so in another hour I will start working on that.

I have a small charcoal BBQ but no fire safe place to use it. In my previous home there was a concrete carport to use, but here..nothing.
That BBQ fire sounds scary. And you have to think fast when it comes to fire. Once my husband put some caulking tubes (like a thick glue) into a slightly warmed and then turned off oven.He was using them outside, and they got too cold to use and he needed to warm them up. He never told me though, so I turned the oven on to heat it up on high to cook a pizza for dinner. BAM, the door flew open and the frames came out sideways because of course that's how an oven door is. WE put it out (since one Christmas we gave each other fire extinguishers- because we both thought of it so it wasn't something we planned.) Ha ha, and the oven even worked for a long time after the fire. Which could have been scary and caught the house on fire. I hope it was great June. hugs-Erika

We have too (old) fire extinguishers but in panic I will not be able too use one...
