Went grocery shopping. And... what????

What again, now??? I just wanna get some fresh basil, salami, cheese...
Glad I´m on foot!!!! Glad I am early!
... poor baby...
Whilst others just looked I felt entitled to ask - after all I´m into railway, right.
And I had a fresh bunch of basil with me, too.
Also I am not afraid of firefighters, I have one in my bed each night.
This gentleman told me a car smashed into the tram and it hopped off the rail.
A car, not a truck!!!

When I came back they´d closed the road to our road to home and even there is was still packed.
Wonder what awaits the car-driver.
How fast do you have to be (or how drunk and fast on a Monday morning???) to crash a whole tram out of it´s rails????
We live here since 2011 and this was - luckily - a first and hopefully last sight to see!
(I live in Braunschweig since 2001 and still this is a first).

Too late. And no, I didn´t go with the flow to take close ups and go between the many, many helpers of firefighters and ambulance. Some people really did, can you believe that????

I don´t want to imagine what happens when you sit unbelted in a tram that gets hit so hard by a car that it jumps off the rail!
(On the Flixbus were belts).
And it´s only Monday. Bet we´ll be in the local news again :-(
And ALL colleagues know where I live.
At least I was fully dressed, unlike this time... we were in the local news back then.

I read that the driver got hurt. He must have been going fast to knock the tram off its tracks. Need to apy attention to the lights.
Yes, hopefully only he was hurt and re-thinks if it´s clever to drive a car still.
My W gave his car away at age 80-something, we are as old as we feel... I don´t wanna drive no more...

Erika, yes. All those cars!!! All people were stuck but those of us on foot or push-bike. Happy I don´t need a car no more, hugs to that and you!

CJ, yes and people really were disrespectful!!! The car-driver was hurt, it said in the news.
Oh the poor tram and the passengers too, hope none were hurt. The driver of the car was probably speeding to knock the tram that hard. Probably trying to get across the rails in a hurry. My mum always said "don't be in such a hurry, where you are going will still be there when you arrive. Late is better than never." Of course she also taught us to never be late, but that meant leaving home early enough that we didn't need to hurry.
