He finally - he was a nice mate - came up with the word "strange" - so, be it.
This time was a more or less high entry fee for each and everything and we just skipped it.

It´s always a hassle to get back home late at night. You get easily to Warwick from Perth but then you are stuck.
Last bus to Madeley, where we use to live, is 9 p.m.-ish (and the bus driver wishes you "nighty-night, sleep tight", at least when you are the only person and a woman - no idea how old I am he thought, LOL (I am small)) .

Very cool Henry photo today. And did you find out what popcorn chicken is? It's small pieces of chicken usually deep fried or air fried or roasted because they have breading on them. At least the popcorn chicken I've had. Have a great middle of the week. hugs-Erika

Popcorn chicken is small bits of breaded fried chicken, you might like that better than the lamb dish.
I haven't been to "Fringe" things either. Erika and Christine have explained what popcorn chicken is. It's delicious...next time!
We have a Fringe festival here too but I have only been to a few events in the past. Popcorn chicken is tasty, Iris.
Here Fringe means all sorts of acts that don't get on other stages. The performers must pay to have a venue to perform, and go through an audition process to be selected. There is an admission fee for each performance, and sometimes they can make good money, but sometimes not. I never tried doing a fringe as a storyteller although people urged me to apply. Just wasn't my thing. The performers I knew who did fringes did a lot of their own publicity too. Too much work for an uncertain return!
Popcorn chicken, never tried it as I avoid deep fried foods, lol. But that lamb sounds delicious.

To me, fringe means on the edge or edgy. Fringe is what my mother used to call bangs, as in hair style as in she wears her hair in a fringe.
Or fringe on a lamp.
So interesting when we study a word, it can have so many meanings in English!
I don't like popcorn chicken, as it is mostly fried skin with very little meat. I haven't had lamb in ages. Try it with mint jelly. It's delicious!
Not a fan of popcorn chicken but I love chicken just not fried. Lamp is not my thing, all I remember as a kid is the smell of it cooking, I hated it and haven't had any for decades.

I tried popcorn chicken once and it is nice while eating but can feel heavy in the stomach later if you eat too much. Granny Sue explained Fringe very well. I don't go when it is here in Adelaide, most of the acts aren't something I want to see and it is too expensive.
I´ll give the chicken a go with Sami next time and will take your advise and not eat too much.

That the events are not for free, OK. But to pay to have a look?
KFC sometimes has popcorn chicken here but it's not my thing, I'm interested to know what the lamb dish is though.
