With this orange-soft drink that was ready to go I join Elizabeth´s T.
When I was a kid this came as powder and you licked it or made yourself a drink from it.
Kids get lazy these days - and miss the fun of options!
But the big kid (Ingo) sure could not resist!
The journal:
Monday: I am officially male now. At cgs three teamleaders told me "you are no woman" - meant as compliment for I am not complicated (men, huh)... This morno via e-mail: "Lieber Iris..."
OK.... sex is irrelevant anyways, huh?
Tuesday: fK: "I had a project-due-date in October and yesterday got it done - don´t you worry about yours!"
Hm, well.
Maybe I am "too German", too naive, too correct.
"Do a 'lessons learned-list' and discuss with mK". Will do...
What are the lessons I learned?
a) say no to .pdf as work-format - it is none.
b) take your time to understand the project before racing!
c) go back to a)!!! but a) does not work - alas!
d) it takes longer and the customer has to pay more!
Then I topped it with a seminar from 3-6 p.m. on ETCS - what was I thinking?!
("The European Train Control System (ETCS) is a train protection system designed to replace the many incompatible systems used by European railways, and railways outside of Europe.")
Glad it was an online-seminar, I nearly fell asleep and boy, can CEO#1 talk fast!
So fast he was done at 5 p.m. - and I was knackered!
But, as fK said, it shows I am eager to learn.
Wednesday: Oh, boy. Wanted to contact a colleague. Another popped up, so I said hello. We were at Alstom together. He announced he´ll call. He is Brazilian and speaks German, kinda. I´m not good with accents... But it was so nice to talk again - sweet. He is without a project atm. Seems like we live in hard times...
He, too, learns on ETCS and admitted he needed to re-do the sessions more than twice. I am not dumb 😉 - went through the basics last year and, boy, tough stuff!
Admin mT told teamlead mK it is not OK to work with .pdf as base. I felt like a 5-year-old.
Said, "thank you, Dad" - am on the safe side, I guess.
Thursday: Asked mC via teams if he joins the summer-party tomorrow - BOOM, ON THE teams-PHONE!
Sadly no, but we chatted an hour, mostly private stuff. So refreshing with the fish-head accent. I fall into that within a minute, too, as I spoke that as a kid often 😍
He asked if mM joins, so I asked that colleague. Sadly no, also, but he promised to join next time.
How am I lonely???? I think fK is right, I know a LOT of colleagues.
Oh, I´m sad.
I´m done watching GRIMM. A great series that left me in tears...

Friday: It is so nice when you pop up at a party and just say hi and get a group hug. And then your name-tag without saying your name, cause they know you 😍
And I finally met some colleagues I only knew via teams - we clicked instantly!
mK2 is really the one throwing any language at you, mixing it up, LOL. And he was dressed like a "gentleman" - with a mane like Henry.
My top-teamlead sat beside me (she still worries I am "lonely" and asked me over) and was surprised I can mix, too 🤣 - minus Polish, of course.
CEO#1 thanked us and said this is a special summer-party. Because WE made it.
Actually, when asking fL she said beside fK and me it was only two others who suggested a "BYO-Party". But, well, we made it happen!
There was way too much food and drink. fK shared it all with me so I could try a lot of different things - and... she went and came back with a Krakauer to share!
It sounds so disgusting, Krakauer, but my Mom loved them so for the first time in my life I gave it a go, also as fK said it´s made with cheese.
To Mom - was yum!
When the sun was gone my hands turned blue from the "cold". Whoooo... "panic"! Nah, all good! Was offered three jackets.
Weekend: Saturday: Slept in. Lazy, too cold a day.
Ingo got asparagus ... ewww, the white - but Braunschweig one.
I looked up online how to peel it correctly... reminded me of Grimm´s Hansel and Gretel, thin as my ring finger. Ours... Monsters! I had fried potatoes, I only like the green asparagus fresh.
Sunday: Voting for who leads Europe, where there others than us? They didn´t even want our IDs...
Then Löwenzahn, Die Maus, Fairy Tale... getting ready for the next week!

Oh strawberries and cream. Yum. That;s a great treat. Boy, that CEO must have talked fast to finish an hour early. My favorite journal page is actually the one of the 2 people holding hands. Simple but it says a lot. I hope you're having a super T day.:) hugs-Erika
...I remember as a kid, the milk for school lunches could be flavored with strawberry or chocolate. Those strawberries and cream look yummy.
Erika I´m not into sweets... so, glad at the summer-BYO-festival I got hearty food :-)

The powdered orange drink here was Tang. Since the astronauts drank it, we did too. Loved seeing your daily sketches.

The strawberries look great! And I love that you were able to go to the party and meet some online folks face to face. I know that had to be fun. It sounds like a really good week.

We had the sugar powder and came in different colored straws called Pixie Sticks. You poured the powder in your hand and licked the powder. I don't ever recall seeing anything that said you could mix it with water. We had Kool-Aid for that. Maybe I was just a dumb little kid and I liked licking the powder. another exhausting week for you.. Happy T Day
Different powders seemed to come and go when I was a kid. One was called Lik-M-Aid and was intended to be licked off your hand and turn your tongue green, orange, or red (it exists under another name now). Another was Kool-Aid which was unsweetened — you had to add both sugar and water to make a brightly-flavored drink. It wasn’t so good to lick — too sour. I think there were others, but I don’t remember. Some time since then, people started to distrust those crazy colors in food.

I remember the orange powder called Tang, my kids loved it. Krakauer? I wonder if that is what we call cheese Kransky?I never ate those but my kids did.
