Honey In My Heart

You might know my sweet tooth is a sleepy eye. (a wee lille pun)

Right now - amongst other - I read a book about Dieter Hallervorden who played the Granpa in Head Full of Honey.
That was the last movie I saw in a real cinema, it was 2014, or early 2015. We went on a Sunday morning, Ingo and I, the tickets were a pressie from my dear boss.
And I cried. I laughed. Then I cried. Lau... you get the picture.

I have an online friend in South Australia who´s Mum sadly has passed away, also due to a common desease, portrayed in the movie very strongly.
The movie is on Alzheimer´s Desease and I sent the DVD to her on her wish.
She said she had to stop over and over again as she only had subtitles and reading and crying or laughing at the same time does not work.

My Granma, who raised us, died of the same desease, so I have an idea...

The movie is by Til Schweiger (did I mention sexy? Intelligence? Dedication?). It´s rated 6th best since 1966 in Germany.
60 million Euro (in what time frame??? Dunno, the book says second best German cinema-production in general).
I have it here, certainly! The movie, not the 60 millio... haaaa...

I, too, grew up, a bit, with that man. I´m "too young" to have seen most of his early shows, but "Didi", as they call him, he was always there!
And is!!!

Hallervorden visited Alzheimer´s groups to prepare for the movie and his Mum passed away with that desease also.

He is German. He said, "Today I do not drink some 20 beers. Just 18."
He has a new girlfriend. They both got a love-tattoo. He was 81 at that time.

In his jokes he remembers his Mum with love.

Ingo remembers "Nonstop Nonsens", the early shows. I was too young.

With Hallervorden you can look back, laugh and cry.

His girlfriend says: "He is an extremely lovable man and human" - (in German it sounds nicer, "Mann und Mensch").... "Life... the two of us love you!", she says.
At his side, despite she was a stuntwoman in movies, she feels like an old-fashioned woman, and she loves it!
He opens doors for her etc, etc... I could go on - read the book!

The author compares Hallervorden with Louis de Funès, a man I adore(d) as well.
Shy, serious, a genius, so serious! Back in the 70´s Brust oder Keule/The Wing or the Thigh - ha, true today!! Many more, right. Wise men. Wise is very sexy.

Hallervorden was asked what he is most afraid of. The 81-year-old said. "Being alone, single, by myself. Well other than sitting on the loo toilette."
As de Funès, a comedian in his heart, huh.

And in this book people again and over again say how beautiful "Head full of Honey" was. Was "played".
My dear Granma raised Bro and me out of 14 Grandkids. She thought I´m my Brother´s wife, she did not recogniose me. Alzheimer´s Desease. Bad, mean, unfair.
And this movie can make you laugh anyways! (and cry, a lot. Because there is understanding)
