T STands For I Can Do IT
OK, this is the wrong time direction!
We started with this:
Ingo can do the world-best roulades but these were... OK, let´s forget about that.
I cannot cook, my Mum always stated. I wasn´t even allowed in the kitchen when she cooked (no kidding).
Buuut...
Ingo went a tad "angry" as I did it just like Jamie Oliver said: Do as you feel.
I didn´t write it down.
I used the rest of the cabbage, some pototoes, spiced with salt and harissa. Meatballs with salt, pepper and fresh chili (OK it was a little "firey" all in all, but it´s cold, so you need something "hot").
Pic a bit blurry, but:
Ingo said several times (!!!) it was very yummy.
HA. MUM! HA!
Haaaaa.... We had the gas-man here, I payed him, heating is off :-(
(But Ingo seemed to be able to repair it!!!)
Choice of drink, hence:
Another 60-90 sketch (This is what it´s all about):
Taking part in Elizabeth and Bleubeard´s "T Stands For Tuesday".
Lion of the day:
A defiant look I direct to Mum ;-)
According to my Brother that´s simply up in the sky.
Ya, Man, ... ummm, Yah Mum, if you could taste up there, huh ;-)

...it's nice to hear that you have your own personal cook, lucky you!
Tom :-)
It was really me doing the cooking. For a change only, yes, usually Ingo is the one.
Well done on cooking something good. I'm baking apple crumble today as a friend is coming. Enjoy your mint tea. The lion looks angry. Happy T Day, Valerie
Apple crumble, hmmmm! Doo you add vanilla ice-cream as a side?
Nah, the lion is just a lille... It was raining after all (pic still from carnival).
Happy T-Day!
Savoy cabbage roulade are made with meat? And have you tied them with wires? Why?
The mint tea is tasty ...
I wish you a very "tasty" day!
Hugs! π€
Yes, with meat! And you need to tie them to not brake in the pan. Here is a receipe.
Usually yummy, usually ;-)
A tasty day to you and hugs, Ella! :-)
It sure looks good Iris. Hurrah for you. What is next on your culinary attempts? Hope your cough goes away. Take care of yourself my friend. And happy T day. Hugs-Erika
Erika, I hope I can keep it going with cooking, I nearly understand Hubby, it was nearly fun!!!!
(Nearly). Hugs, and a happy T-Day!
You have your mum’s voice in your head. A lot of us have that. Sometimes we have to get her out so we can be ourselves.
best... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Nice that you have a hubby that cooks, but you showed him with your delicious meal didn't you:):)
You wouldn't want to be around me if we didn't have heat working!Brrrr
Have a great week and happy T day!
Fabulous post! I enjoyed watching you cook ...lol π... and those meatballs look yummy! Great sketch and three mint tea sounds very refreshing π. I'm loving the lion today too, he looks very regal and handsome! Happy T Day wishes! Hugs, Jo x
You're getting quite adventurous with your cooking Iris! Good on you :)
I love mint tea also, but if I have mint in the garden I use the fresh one.
Beautiful drawing and lion.
I'm lucky that my husband cooks too, he's very good, he makes thin pancakes and stuffs them with spag bol mixture, puts them in a dish with cheese sauce and bakes, a lasagne but with a difference, rather filling though.
I've had stuffed cabbage leaves with meat and rice inside and they are very tasty.
Happy T day
Jan x
What a fabulous lion! Your dinner looks good. And Jamie is right -- it's good to follow a recipe the first time. And then, add your own touches. Sometimes they work, sometimes not, but that's part of the adventure!
I'm glad you are starting to enjoy cooking, but quite frankly, that cabbage looks sick to me. Maybe because I can't stand cooked cabbage. I applaud you for cooking, though.
That tea looks minty (grin) and sounds wonderful. LOVE the angry lion today, too.
Thanks for sharing your drawing, your (gross) cabbage meals, your tea, and your lion with us for T this Tuesday, dear Iris.
Good for you cooking! I have always enjoyed it allot since I was a kid.
I love mint tea-and I really love your lion for T awesome-Happy T wishes Kathy
Hello! My husband enjoys to cook, so I let him do most of it too. When you here negative voices telling you something.. tell it to hush! You proved it wrong anyway ~ good for you. Your drawing and your tea are wonderful ~ Happy T day!
The sketch is wonderful!
Good one you for creating your own recipe. My mother didn’t like anyone in the kitchen while she cooked. I like to bake better than cooking. Love the defiant look of the lion. You’re mother was just being tough on you to bring out the best in you. Looks like she succeeded. π Happy T Day
The lion looks formidable.
That looks like a delicious meal and you cooked it. YAY!!
I love the dignified look of your lion.
Have a nice evening, Iris.
No wonder you "can't cook" - beacuse your mother told you so and banned you from the kitchen! I think you're proving her wrong. Your left overs do look yummy!
Happy T-day! Eileen xx
Your food looks delicious. I like the lion. The tea looks good.
Very well done on cooking something good :)
All the best Jan
I am fan of cabbage. Have you displaying your art or selling it.
I never banned my kids from the kitchen, they were always there doing something, homework, whatever and helping with cooking too. and they saw what I was cooking and how to do it. All of them could cook a decent meal with dessert included by the time they were 12.
I love your little man vegetable peeler.
Mae, I think if I could talk to her it would be a laughing conversation.
Yes, it was wrong, but now that is over, right.
____
Linda, yes, I did show him - and he repaired the heating, I´m all cozy now! :-) So: A great week to you, too!
____
Jo, thank you, and yes, Henry is always handsome! Hugs, Iris x
____
Sami, yes, it seems adventures come with age, LOL!
Come Spring I´ll have fresh herbs hopefully, too, again!
____
Jan, ohhhh... cheese sauce, lasagna! Sadly hubby likes neither.
Have one on me! Iris x
____
Jeanie, Jamie is such a great teacher, there never was a receipe I just took off like that! :-)
____
Elizabeth :-) Ohhhh, reckon you never got the yummy one? I once had Brussels Sprouts on Cuba, what a dumb idea, it was plain awful!
I so wish I could repeat this (?) and let you taste a wee bit at least! Just to prove you "wrong", in Germany it´s yummy! :-)
____
Kathy, I never enjoyed cooking but now that I got older (and lost my job) - Henry says thank you, he´s the sweetest, always :-)
____
creativeseconds - always great to have a Hubby who cooks :-) Yes, you are righthush, I can do it (sometimes ;-)...)
____
Thank you, RedPat!
____
CJ, yes, in the end it all worked out! Yet... she taight my Brother to cook! "Unfair" ;-)
____
William, Henry always does (and says thank you).
____
Bill, thank you, what else to add - a happy day to you!
____
Eileen, that´s life - as a kid I really flipped with "hot" things... All good now, Iris xx
____
Anne, thank you!
____
Jan, also thanks to you, you gave me some ideas as well!!
____
Dora, yes, yum for cabbage, and... LOL. No. Those are sketches from the mid-90´s!
Selling, funny you!
____
River, we had a typical German 70´s kitchen - no table, no space and I was a kid who could not stand heat at all.
Haha, the little peeler man is an Aussie! A pressie from a friend in Perth!
Well it's nice for the head chef to have a night off now and then hey Iris π you are Ingo's sous chef π Your mum would be proud of you!
I've never been much of a cook, but I keep trying lol Happy T Day!
Cooking can be an adventure but sometimes fun
MB
My late first husband was a good cook (Italian) and wouldn't let me touch the cooking but i was watching. So when I married again (with the help of Jamie Oliver) I taught myself to cook. And now I consider myself a good cook. But my current hubby cooks very well so he also cooks sometimes.
I love your orange peeler!
Lovely lion (with attitude).
Sorry for commenting so late. I'm not up to much at the moment.
Happy belated T-Day,
Hugs (from a distance as I have a cold)
Lisca
I love the little orange peeler dude. How fun is that?
This roulade may be a very delicious plate Iris ! Happy T-day !!
Your drawing is fantastic, as always.
Have a great day, big hugs,
Caty
My Mum used to make cabbage roulades - definitely not my favourite dish! Love your art! Belated Happy T Day, Chrisx
