Somewhere I found a theme "what your Hubby loves".
I´m a bit late, but we both LOVE The Simpsons and in Tuscany we even played chess.
(Counts as "brain-sport", does it?!)
It was HOT yesterday, yayyyyy.... so Hubby brought the game onto the balcony and popped the darn huge brolly up (too heavy for me, it´s always a "dance" and not a nice one, to get it up or down... for me, he can do it easily!).
OK, what to use? Coal, pen...?
Ingo suggested I start with Granpa.
OK, if you wanna learn you have to show your crap, right, boy, this was difficult!

What did we do.
Mon: Ingo was signed sick but fit enough to go to the city (it´s complicated, as always).
We had a beer at Guido´s, Braunschweig´s oldest Pizzeria. - it was SUMMER, Yay!
Tue: Read my kindle on the balcony (Summer, yay!!!) - it got cooler, though.
Sport just a wee bit. Does summer and Ingo being home count for being lazy?
Wed: I baked Pizza muffins and they turned out great! Bit Sport. Cold 😢
Thursday...warmer... We had the first Ice cream of the year!!
Note the shirt! Aboriginal art, and we sure are "allowed" to show it.
I´ll NEVER forget the lille boy, he could barely walk, a lille Aborigine in... oh, where the mini-Bungle bungles are nearby.
He "walked" over to us, pointing at me, "YOUUUU... girl!!!" - then to Ingo "YOUUUUU... boy!!!"
Sooo sweet. 🥰 His parents, sober, brand new car, smiled big.
We saw so much bad, this was so good!
Ingo made TOAST HAWAII...
with an olive, LOL. (you usually have those icky-mega-sweet cherries -
olive is better). Cold. This is no summer.
It´s an olive, please don´t rate my blog as... you-know-what! 🤣
Fri: A parcel arrived and my sweet neighbor, C, took it for me.
In there... my Brother would plain KILL me! (He´s a goldsmith, amongst other)
Cheap "crap", but once I have a job I´ll change what I wear maybe every day!
One can dream, huh.
They always come in pairs, but I just need one - if you´re interested in the other, let me know.

AND!!!! Ingo spotted - and showed me... BABY-Squirrels!!! Walnuts are outside for them! They munch already.
Days are getting shorter, too, so sad.
Sunday Die Maus and Elefant came as sand-art... summer, right?

I have never seen Simpsons chess before.
Unlike the rest of the world, I have NEVER seen a single Simpsons episode, so your drawings are lovely, but they went over my head. Nice that you play chess together, though.

Iris I had to come back and say I loved your story of Florence, so funny, we were once traveling through Valencia when our boys were young, about six lanes of traffic, my husband turned left and came face to face with the guardia civil, we were heading the wrong way down a one way street with five lanes of traffic coming towards us, luckily he was directing the traffic, he kindly stopped the traffic so we could turn around LOL jan

Wow, that Simpson chess set is really special. I have never seen an episode of the Simpsons, but I know enough to recognize these are the characters. (I don't know any of their names though)
Ingo's mushroom dish looks really tasty. Using the brown mushrooms will give you so much more taste.
Those pizza muffins also look really good. Do you use muffin recipe or a bread(=pizza) dough recipe?
I love Ingo's T-shirt. I immediately recognized the aboriginal art, which is something I love. In Postcrossing, I ask Australian postcrossers to send me aboriginal art and I have framed a few and hung them on the wall.
I'm looking forward to hearing the story of the 'one ear'.

Chess is not for me, even though my husband enjoys it. The mushrooms and rice dish looks delicious. I've never heard of pizza muffins, but it sounds like the best of 2 worlds :) He looks happy to have the ice cream. I'm always surprised to see red squirrels. Ours are always gray.

I didn't know there was a Simpsons chess game! I used to watch (not that I liked it much) some episodes with our son when he was home and younger. Love your illustrations of them along with your planner book pages.

Linda, Ingo is a child at heart! We also have a Star Trek chess game. And I don´t even play chess. Yes, the lille boy was the cutest!!! This was 1999 and he´s still in my heart.
I just bought a handmade chess from Poland a month or so ago. Always enjoyed playing and Shari wants to learn. Never saw a Simpson episode, don't have a tv or a dvd player. Nice day today, hope you had one too.
Chess is "mind-breaking" to me! But good to learn for life, why don´t we learn THIS it school?

I know some people who wear different earrings in each ear, or who wear just one, so it doesn't seem so odd. I've seen some websites that sold one at a time.

How exciting to have baby squirrels. And you did a great job drawing your Simpson chess pieces. I wouldn't say they are horrible. You did capture the dimensional shape quite well. I used to love playing chess with my Dad, haven't played since he passed though. You and Aimee are soooo Simpson smart. She sent me a Simpson cartoon that goes like this. Marge says 'you've locked down one perfectly good city' Gladys (NSW Premier) replies 'Ah, incorrect Marge, six perfectly good cities'. It's unfortunately true 😏
Cool chess set and great drawings and journal. Food looks yummy especially the ice cream. Summer is in full force hear. the 4th day of a heatwave. Very hot yesterday 100 F. and humid. Thunderstorms today and cooler by the weekend. I don't mind. You don't have to shovel heat and humidity 😺

Sadly, there is barely a place in the world where relationships between white people and indigenous inhabitants has been memorable for the right reasons, including here in Canada it pains me to say. Tomorrow is Canada Day our national holiday, and I hope that people will take the time to remember that there are many events that should not be celebrated, and it's time for reconciliation.
