T STands For Trying

Another yummy, healthy drink for Elizabeth´s T!

"Art"-wise... I join AJJ with "Collage Fodder, Food and Drink, or Both" as Elle suggested with this :-)

And the journal again...

Monday: Public holiday: Slept in, sketched and watched Little House on the Prairie.
I know it´s very kitchy. but.. maybe we need a lille love these days.

And all of a sudden my back went BOOM.

Trouble is. Our doc retired and thanks to our politicians I cannot find a new one!
You call and they say they cannot take in new patients.
Only option: search, search, search or go to hospital.
Or live through it.

And whom will you find in a successful search? Likely a doc that has not many patients for a reason.
Germany goes down the drain.

Tuesday: The day started weird again.
My to-be-teamleader wanted to "help" on my day off.
I hence made a document now on how to do that properly after it went wrong.
We are a weird team.
OMG. I think he totally confused the already not understanding translation company!

Ingo sadly still takes a time-out, I got a work-update, my third monitor said hence good-bye... 10+ work hours again, aw, well. Some days are crap.
At least back is better.

AND! I found a fun history-series!
I know it´s not funny to kill a person but "Rouen ne va plus" I had to laugh about when they told of Joan of Arc.
I may, I was in Rouen. With a "man" I was in love with - I was 14, he was 18.
I wish teachers would share one episode (as in 5 minutes) at the end of each history lesson of that series! Rien ne va plus!

Wednesday: Half the day I was handicapped. Only two monitors and those gave me trouble. Main was suddenly left, getting from one to another was a task. Darn updates!!!
Called Admin.
If that happens to you and in case you didn´t know: So simple!!!!!
Windows-P and then you can jiggle through!!!! For the Laptop you might need to go to extras.

Only one session with D.

Thursday: What a day. Hidden forms in Excel. Just what a beginner needs!
Felt like Easter 🐣
But, certainly, I got help!!! And now I can work with that a little. First colleague A and later teamleader as suddenly the whole thing (more than 500 rows!!!) broke down.

2 English versions to check, the German one to change and a list for the proofreader.

And I really wrote to my (German) teamleader that I have the document ge-pre-proof-read. It hurt, but I found no German word for it! Geproofreaded, as our proofreader always says sounds bad, but this, woah.

Language lives and evolves and mixes, huh?
As names!!!
Israel came for help to me and I think I referred to him to another colleage as... it was... Jerusa(lem) - I could stop myself in time!!! 🤣
I´ve met neither in person yet and Germans usually don´t have such names.

Sessions with D after yet nearly 9 hours of work.

Friday: Was very exhausting. But if we get it done this Dec 1st I´m all in.
Pressie from Ingo, see here!
One session with D.

Weekend:
Saturday:
It is sad Ingo does not understand my situation.
He sits in a safe boat since a long time with a great team.
He forgot to understand the luxury he has...
Yet I had a great day, see here, if you like.

And I need your help, please!!!

I got these - do I need watercolor-paper?

I got them with men´s help.... see here...

Sunday: Die Maus and the fairy tale of Snow White on another channel (she was even called Snow White - yet the rest was sadly translated to German), very well done!
Next a new version of Cinderella - so well done!
I prepared Ingo´s work food and left for the Mumme-Mile again. I hope they bring on the tale again!!
"Be brave and friendly, always" - I left with these words.

Food... Mumme Mile, of course! I braved up and friendly waited in line :-)

See more on this tomorrow at Tom´s Signs2 😁

You will be glad, Henry, if we keep the tram-project...

The "Little House" books are better than the film/TV treatments. Not so corny.

I hope you resolve your work issues.

I enjoyed your drawn and written diary again. You really do that so well. Although not everything is fun in your life. And I agree with Mae. The books are better. I read them sometimes when the real world is too difficult. Like right now

Iris Flavia said...

Well, too late, I have them all bought on DVD (as here you can only see it German). Corny. New word learned! :-)

Bertiebo, thank you.
Life cannot always be pink, can it - no worries.
Oh, and well. I do have the DVDs...

Such a wonderful week with lots of exercise 😉. I'd love to try your drink, it looks so refreshing and I haven't seen Little House on the Prairie in years, glad you enjoyed it. I think Henry has the right idea with the nap - roar! Happy T Day wishes! Hugs Jo x

I used to sit on the fence with Little House - was it good or too goofy. Recently, I found out that the stories in it are actually true - something I never knew. It brings a whole new element to the show for me. They had a lot of hardship but they stayed positive and held on to their faith even when things were REALLY bad. Love your journal page! Love all your journal pages.

Those who have good teams and great bosses have no idea what the rest of the world is facing. I have had both and there is a big difference in your work life and your non-work life depending on whic you have.

Glad your back is feeling better, but not glad about your lack of a doctor. I think all our healthcare systems are deteriorating. Kind of scary...actually it is totally scary.

Happy T-day and hugz

Jo, the drink reminded me of baby-food! LOL!
Yes, The Little House is sould food. And it´s so good to get back to training!
Henry roars nappily back (very silent) hugsx

Nancy, I imagined the Little House stories might be real indeed! Now I know, thank you!
Watching them always made me feel humble and thankful for the easy life I have (or a different difficult one).

Oh, yes, I had good and bad bosses, too! AS well as colleagues.
Just 30 minutes ago I told a colleague how great - the best - this team is. He was very proud :-)

Yes, the health system is a problem by now... esp with Ingo being chronically sick.
Let´s hope for the best and happy T-Day, hugz!

...carrot-apple-ginger, now that's an interesting combination!

CJ Kennedy said...

the carrot apple ginger juice sounds really good. Someone mentioned the Little House on the Prairie books. I thought they were boring. 100 pages of Ma churning butter. Another busy week for you! The Aqua Markers look cool. All those yummy colors. They will probably work best on watercolor or mixed media paper. Even on mixed media paper there might be bleed through if you're using them in a journal. Happy T Day

Your drink sounds interesting with the added ginger-you find the most interesting beverages I love the bottles they are in. sounds like another rough week.
I started reading the little house on the prairie books a couple years ago-they are pretty good. I watched the show too.
You may need to test those out-but mixed media or watercolor papers would be good I think.
Happy T hugs

Tom, the odor reminded me of what babies get!

____

CJ, LOL!!! "100 pages of Ma churning butter." - that´s why I watch the DVDs!
Thank you, l´ll try mixed media first, as they are much cheaper.

____

Kathy, how come you started so late with The little House? I grew up with that (in German, of course, that´s why I now have the DVDs).
Yes, thank you, as soon as I know WHAT to do with the new art supply I´ll first start I´ll try mixed media. And let´s see what happens (they were rather cheap).
Hugs!

I am sorry you have back pain. Can't believe you can't find a good doctor. Gigi hawaii

gigi, it´s all better, but yes, the problem remains - esp Ingo needs a doctor...

Such a busy week but you sound more upbeat which is a good thing.

Hi Iris, I haven't seen Little House for years, crazy it is still being repeated on TV. Sorry to hear about your back, I know the feeling, I have back problems too and no docs. I like carrot, apple, ginger juice, sometimes I make that combination with my juicer. Your aqua markers look interesting, they will work on anything but will work better on watercolour paper. Love your malibu page, are you joining in with AJJ (food and drink theme) this month? Happy T Day! Elle/EOTC xx

Iris Flavia said...

RedPat, I´m OK, it´s stressy and scary, though....

___

Elle, yes, all the old series are on TV here - sadly in German, hence I have these as DVDs.
Docs really a huge problem!
We have a due date of Dec 1st. I don´t know if I can join you this month - it´s really tough...
Also... I have no real ideas!
If I can join with a whole already-ready-post, I´ll be in - let me know! xx

Hi Iris, thanks for your visit. I would link up this post because of the Malibu drawing :)

Ok :-)
Thank you, it´s fun to be part of this community!

Was hier abgeht, ist kriminell.

I have watched LIttle House on the Prairie my whole life Iris. I learned so much from watching that show. It is still a go to for me for some relaxing tv watching.. Happy T day! Hugs! deb

Your doctor situation sounds bad. Our health system is getting worse but not quite that bad yet. I hope your back continues to get better. Mxx

Iris Flavia said...

____

deb, yes, I always loved the series, too, and have the whole set as DVD :-) hugs!

____

Margaret, my back is better (I have scoliosis, so, gotta live with some pain) - yes, it´s bad here with the health situation, very sad... Finger crossed we find a doc, and soon! xx

Bad backs are a pain. I hate even thinking about them but thankful mine has been fine for a few years now. Enjoy your evening, Iris.

That drawing is perfect for AJJ Iris, and I am glad you listened to Elle and are joining in. It is a very good drawing and works! I don't know about those markers. I don't think you need special paper. But I don't know if they leak through paper so don't try them on your calendar but try them on some paper you don't worry about damaging the back.If you want to use a brush and water with them you might want some paper with tooth( meaning it can hold up to the water and not crinkle or fall apart). I hope you had a great T day. hugs-Erika

I adore your art you created for AJJ. This is beautiful and is absolutely perfect fr Bleubeard's and my themes. I love how you drew it, too.

I also love reading your calendar and the art you create. Sorry the job is so stressfu. Seems you had a bad week, with your back being out and yuor monitors acting up. I'm just glad I don't use windows at all.

Your carrot, apple, ginger drink sounds lovely. I take it it tasted good, too. Thanks for sharing your AJJ entry, your calendar, your drink, and your week with us for T this Tuesday, dear Iris.

Iris Flavia said...

Bill, it´s all better already :-)

____

Erika, thank you. It was fun making it, it was from summer, I dketched it on the balcony in hot weather, hmmmm. T-shirt and skirt, now... thick clothes and still mostly cold.
On the weekend I´ll give the markers a go, I think :-)
To a great day, hugs

____

Elizabeth, thank you, I will try to join AJJ,but yes, it´s really become stressfull - yet we find time to laugh! Back and monitors are fine again, too!
The drink smells like baby-food, lOL. Not enough ginger!
Thank you for helping me along artwise, dear host!

I used to watch Little House on the Prairie when it was on TV, one episode per week. That's probably over forty years ago now and I didn't ever get to see all of it. I remember reading some of the books, I got them from the library.
I'm glad I don't have work from home with all the monitors, when things go wrong I would be the first to quit. I am just not that smart to be able to work things out.
Love your journal drawings.

River said...

I googled how to use aqua markers, there are videos on you tube, in English, and one lady said for best results use watercolour paper.

Jeanie said...

On the markers -- you don't HAVE to use watercolor paper but you DO need a thicker paper or it will buckle with the water. And watercolor paper will be better. And I'm a big proponent of using decent paper for the media. There is "good" watercolor paper (meaning it takes the water better) and paper that is cheaper. To learn or practice, it matters less but it WILL make a difference. Possibly getting a pad of "good" paper (100 % or a large percent cotton) and cut the sheets into smaller bits to "practice" with the water.

I'm sorry about the job stress and certainly can relate to computer or monitor problems. It's also hard when someone doesn't understand your work stress. And I loved your drawings.

If you are a Little House fan you should visit Decortoadore.net and on Laura's menu at the top she has her Little House section. She is a direct descendant of Laura Ingalls Wilder and does a lot with the museums and such.

I absolutely loved working with Excel!!! Loved programming macros for my spreadsheets to automate them!!
Canada is the same with doctors, impossible to find.

The apple-carrot-ginger drink sounds promising. I enjoy ginger in tea tyoe drinks. Fun to have alook through your daily pages.

Iris Flavia said...

River, working from home does not mean you are alone!!!!
You can always ask colleagues for help!
I had this with Siemens, too!
As long as MS Teams or Outlook don´t break down there is always someone there to help you out :-)

Thank you, when time (hahaha) I´ll google the markers. Just need an idea what to "sketch"...

____

Jeanie, I have such 150g papers, I think they should do? I´ll maybe try on the weekend.
Sad thing is Staples left Braunschweig (or Germany altogether?) so those papers are expensive...

The stress really is dumb, now they all wake up - a bit late... panic all over.

Thank you for the Little House-link - guess what my lunch breaks will be filled with!!

_____

Jackie, can you move here and help with Excel? Teach?? Please??? It´s hell for a beginner like me.
Doctors... are essential.

____

Darla, the drink smells like puree for babies - not enough ginger!
