Monday my Teamleader let me go at 09:30 am after giving me tips on baking bread.
I had such fun, see here, if you like.
More smiles: The very-superhot phase in the project is over so I got another lesson on flours, we talked about filo etc...
Sadly this teamleader will leave eventually to another project - and I might lose this, too, we´ll see soon. But we had many a laugh this week!

Not sure how I missed your bread baking experience, but I am in total AWE. Bread making is HARD and hurts your wrists. You did a great job for the first time. Seriously. I adore your toucan. I think it is adorable. It was great for FFO and it made me smile, too. That's me on cleaning my room (grin).
Elizabeth,, the dough was so wobbly, nearly liquid, the hard part was to get it off my hands, LOL - it was everywhere!
I took 00 flour and Teamleader advised 600+ next time and to add 3TS of olive oil...
The Toucan was fun to sketch and yes, I join in a bit (a bit) with you, Ingo and Kermit!
It is rainy and cold and grey. So longing for spring? You bet!!

What a fun post. I went back to see your bread and it looks really tasty. I make my own bread qyuite often but I am not very adventurous. I have just subscribed to a soughdough course so we shall see how that goes.
I hope the sun has shown its face now.We have all had enough of Winter weather. Happily it is picking up nicely here now.

Wow! Congratulations on your first loaf of bread. And you didn't even use bread flour. That '00' flour is for pasta or pizza making. Next time use strong flour or bread flour then your bread will rise more.

We may have come through Brunswick on our way from Frankfurt to Berlin, but I seem to remember Leipzig so then it couldn't be. My real German Surname is Hufendiek or similar, my ancestors changed it up so to Americanize. I saw one tombstone with that name on the way up to Frankfurt but name experts think it might have originally been Dutch, "holding in the dyke."
