My bit for Elizabeth´s T - I bought these filled straws for my Nieces actually, but family never visits, so... sad as it is I drink this myself.
Soon milk is out of the question anyways, they´re 12 and 8 already.
The journal, if you like:
Monday, 03:05 am I was on a sunny road. Green grass on the side, oh, so nice.
When suddenly a Orang Utan came jogging towards me, arms swinging.
Next followed another, I ducked away. And then...
A black bear came from the side and grabbed the second Orang Utan. Not nice, I woke up!!!
What is with my brain?!!!
It all was so life-like, too. The hair, the color, the grass, the road, the warmth...
I think I need a "holiday".
What is next Polar Bears and Penguins side by side?!
Explanation to come - my brain even made SENSE!!!
06:38 a.m. - called the bakery:
"😁 Bakery Mechau, M..." (me, taking a breath to answer...) "😁😂🤣, Halbes Glattes, I put it to the side! Have a nice day!"
She even didn´t manage a "good morning" cause who else calls 06:38 on the dot? Better wish a nice day, right?
09:58 - get ESE-mails now to the ALSTOM-PC and found out I got €150-bonus in December. 🥂I so suck with money!
Tuesday: Went early to REWE and it wasn´t dark no more - days are getting longer!!! Still very cold, though.
I have a new, second job (I don´t wanna get bored working but 8-12 hours, right 🤣).
I am the post-office RB#10-BS. Ingo is not amused (the small one sits here since two weeks and I have one in the cellar that waits since 7 YEARS!).
But what can I do???? The postie was so nice. It´s very cold and I know he has a lot to do. Also his German was very good, you have to help people who integrate, right?
And his smile was very cute, too (could be my son, age-wise, but who cares, cute, is cute).
Explanation, as River asked: The postie could not reach the receivers and dumped it all at our place cause I opened the door when he rang in desperation.
Other posties just dump parcels in the hall for anyone to take!!
This postie gives them to me and puts a card in the mailbox they find their parcel at our place.
Not nice for us - safe for the others, though.
But I don´t run after them no more, as I did before. Get it or after a while it ends up in the cellar.
Wednesday: A bit quieter at work but I feel I need a rest.
Read on on the book HUMMELDUMM but then I am a HUMMELDUMM myself and cleared out four shelves... Felt good, though! I hate a mess! (And there is loads to do still).
A HUMMELDUMM is a really dumb person.
Carlos from the book was stomped by accident by a clumsy person, btw.
Meerkats can grow to 7 years of age... he died too young...
Reminded me of our journey to Tuscany, also a real story!
Thursday: Was to get help from an ESE-Word-"specialist". She could help with Mr. google on board.
Funny was when we came to the subject "compare" and I showed her how I do this.
Her: "Cool!!! Didn´t know that!"
LOL, we are all some "experts"!
I laughed SO hard on a grammatical fault my glasses fogged, see here, if you like.
Friday: Two hours with teamleader > brekkie at 11:00 am! (I get up 05:00 am)
He hopes he can keep me.
And advised I buy a pool-noodle (pic without glasses as I would never go into water to lose them).
To put on my bike, so others keep a distance! And if I have to use a country road: fake luggage cause car-drivers will try to avoid damage from this! And light enough for you to drive on. Clever dude, that, huh?
I hope the project goes on... with me...
Later... postie. The one who really speaks good German - we now "know" each other and it really was for Ingo (no idea what).
Weekend:
Saturday: I came up with ideas what to cook and Ingo did the shopping for it.
Yummy, hot goulash! With kneftige Dödel - OK deftige Knödel, of course. There was a TV show in the 1990´s where they mixed up words for fun and our generation still keeps the jokes (boy, I feel old).
Sunday: Die Maus and fairy tale, rest and time for "stuff".
Food wise:
Spice was from the Christmas market and has some WOOM!!
And STOMP ("a percussion group, originating in Brighton, England, that uses the body and ordinary objects to create a physical theatre performance using rhythms, acrobatics and pantomime." - Wiki) - ...
We saw them, here in Braunschweig - IMPRESSIVE!
Sad... most people had no clue and ruined the show by clapping hands in the wrong time-lapses.
Those events are not for me...
Art-wise:
It was made by Aboriginal families.
I knew the trees as Baobabs, the Aussies sure shorten it down to Boab, or even Boa, "Endemic to Australia, boab occurs in the Kimberley region of Western Australia and east into the Northern Territory." (Wiki).
Up right in whole pic you see how bread is sealed in Australia, maybe also America.
They can come back, like a boomerang, too, to seal other stuff. Must remember next time to not throw them away.
Our "sealers" are nothing you can really re-use...

Why do you have so many unopened parcels? One from seven years already? are they for you and Ingo? I always open parcels right away, I'm excited to see what is in them.
No, the postie cannot reach the receivers and dumps the parcels here!
And the one from 7 years ago... I never reached the receiver. 5th floor, I went up there several times. Who knows what has happened. In 3 years I put it in the hall maybe...
Today again the bell rang - I was in a meeting. Who knows if the postie found someone else willing to "play along"! 😉
...back in he '50s when I was in grade school, we had "flavor straws." Chocolate, strawberry and vanilla, I didn't know that they were still around.
Yips, those three - still the same :-)
another crazy week, I have never tried those straws with sugars etc inside-I see them here in tea catalogs.
that is kinda crazy about not delivering the packages to where they belong-are these all from your condo?
I do like your boomarang drawing. hoping working slows down for you-Happy T and hugs from the lake
Well, I didn´t want to try these straws, either ;-)
Only the little parcel is left, phew! The other neighbors came to fetch theirs.
Work is not as crazy anymore... yippeeee. Hugs back to the lake
Good news on your work schedule-and I guess it is easier for the post to give them to you-hugs
Yes, easier to them, but not for me, LOL ;-)
The "bad" of working from home - you work BUT you are available!
I enjoy your sketches on your journal pages.
Thank you - join me?
Hi Iris! Happy happy T day!! Thank you so much for your long comment for T . You say such nice things. Thank you! Yeah i know that plant stand might have a nice patina but i'm a spit and polish kinda gal.. Love all your sketches! Especially the one of Carlos..lol So nice of you to help the postman! Hugs! deb
deb, you´re welcome and dito to the nice words, too!
Oh, poor Carlos, huh?
And guess. Two parcels left and Ingo came in with three more! Did I mention our condo is rather small?! LOL.
Happy T-Day and hugs
Glad work is so interesting and going well. Love the art - it is very well done! Always so much going on in your life - either super interesting or your approach is so fabulous it makes it interesting (I love your life outlook). Happy T-day Iris! Hugz
I remember those flavored straws too. My mother always had a bunch for us kids.
Nancy, thank you - I work with a wonderful team.
Never a day we don´t have a laugh! Hugz

Bill, and I thought it´s something brand-new, LOL....
They either were not around in my childhood or no one (parents/Grandma) bought them!
I love all your drawings -- it's such a fun way to keep a journal. And it sounds like it has been a good but busy week. let's hope you don't end up with everyone's packages but it's a great way to meet your neighbors!
The girlies and I love the straws filled with honey. another busy and whacky week. I hope you're kept on the job, too. Though I hope they stop overworking you. Happy T Day
Jeanie, thank you :-)
Oh, Ingo gathered more parcels that were thrown in the hall for that ONE neighbor - think she might be in hospital suddenly or such.
Our condo is small... I put another card into her mail box to please get her parcels ....
____
CJ, honey sounds great!
Aw, well, better more work than lose out? One more week and then hopefully a tad more quiet. All good here! :-)
My older son _loved_ Stomp.
Happy T Tuesday
Goulash is good.
Those straws look fun...I bet any child would like them especially since they look filled with something.
Your boomerang drawing looks great! I love the details. I had to laugh at your daydream of the orangutang. Your sketch does it justice.
Wow, a lot of parcels to house! Who wouldn't want their parcel.
I have never tried goulash and honestly, it doesn't sounds appealing. Must be the name.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
Always love your drawings. Your calendar pages are SO fun to read and see. I love the boomerang, and how bread is wrapped in Australia. Wrapped in plastic here.
Those straws are fun. I was glad you showed what was in each one. Thanks for sharing your lovely calendar, STOMP, and your fun straws in milk with us for T this Tuesday, dear Iris.
If the parcel cannot be received after several tries it should go right away back to the sender, so he or she knows the receiver is no longer there. It might be something important in there.
Divers and Sundry, we loved STOMP, too, just the dumb people around us were a pain ;-)
____
William, it was too yummy and gone in no time...
____
Kate, yes, I do think the kids´d love the straws. Sad they don´t visit. It´s but an hour´s drive after all.
That dream was crazy, really, esp when I realized the reason.
I think the parcel - lady is sick. Oh, you should try goulash, it´s really yummy, made with red wine, the smell is great.
____
Elizabeth, the bread is wrapped in plastic there, too but the wrapper can be reused, that I love. Ours are crap after you once opened it.
____
River, no way, I´m no real post-office. No way I walk to one and pay money for sending those back, and some are really bulky and heavy, too.
I could´ve said "no", the postie would´ve left it in the house for anyone to steal.
That´s what most do: They ring a bell somewhere in the house, when the door is open they throw it in and go away.
Also she ordered at amazon and co. There is no sender otherwise.
If she has something important she should be home!
I suppose she maybe had to go to hospital, the mailbox is full to the brim, too.
If she does not get them soon, I´ll put out a note for all neighbors to see and maybe someone knows more.
Reckon that was the last time I was "nice", because you are right, who knows what happens if she never returns. Accident etc? It summed up to 5 as Ingo found others dumped in the hall for her.
Well my dear friend. I so enjoy reading your blog. There is always so much going on in your life. I really do like looking at your journal too. Have a very nice day today.
That is crazy about the parcels. It shouldn't be your place to deliver them. Oh, well. :) Happy T Day.
lol you are the parcel delivery centre! I get a lot of parcels too (for other people) and I'm on first name terms with the postie and the couriers, who know that I work from home and will probably take in all the parcels. I too used to then try to deliver them to the right people but no response at door, standing in the rain, so now they come to me, but at least they do come unlike your neighbours. They must order too many thing and forget what they ordered so don't miss them! I love your orangutan, I get some weird dreams sometimes and then try to figure out why I dreamt of these weird things lol. Sorry for the late visit, I'm really struggling with the cold at the moment. Happy T Day! Elle/EOTC xx
