Ingo is the lucky one who can enjoy coffee - my stomach can not anymore.
... in our (sadly also window-less) bathroom as we have no room for it in the kitchen.
Ingo installed a socket et voilà... always funny when on weekends I sleep in and when I come to brush my teeth there is this wonderful scent of coffee!
(Ingo has a diploma in electrical engineering, so no worries).
Well, so my ticket to Elizabeth´s T is a rather dirty one, Ingo brought me home instead (see, Elizabeth, you "infected" Ingo, too! 😘):

Monday: Superinteresting seminar part 1 of 8.
There is still East- and West-Germany in railway. The wall fell 1989!!!
K was only 11 years old when this happened, she grew up "over there" - I was 17 and we still have East and West!!! She had a hard time believing me!
Admin T said we also have North and South, ohhhh... we talked a lot too (I.Am.Not.Lonely!)
Just ask Ingo how he liked "Kromberre", he was looking forward to all morno in the South (looong before the wall fell)!

Big disappointment.
I nearly ordered Kutteln. Luckily asked. Ew. Heart, liver and that.
And I had no "Teppsch" for my flatmate. He wanted a "Decke / blanket" - it does not even sound alike!!!
To last Wednesday. I missed the Monday-meeting hence due to the seminar.
Informed female "boss" and gave her all info. No update.
Asked male colleague K for that, he filled me in. So much for "love"...
Tuesday: Electrical engineering, ahhhhhh.... and half of the seminar-time is "my free-time", too.
Train can be really complicated.
Luckily I found this and there are many more! Here you can see my beloved Panto dance!
Very cool: docu "Inside the Simpsons"! After our daily dose of "The Simpsons" (which is called "Die Simpsons" over here, sad, huh?)

Wednesday: Another tough day with the seminar. But interesting. Sadly the man speaks so fast you can hardly make notes.
Colleague said there is a book to the seminar, she just found out - if I can come grab it.
Nope. Colleague K will (she lives nearby) and give it to me when we meet in the city for a chat.
Thursday: Tough seminar and afterwards I really got something good for IT done!
And Compliances is ready to go online and the whole sector about hourly billing, holiday etc, too! A great colleague (higher up) who is quick and makes decisions!
He wanted to chit-chat first.
I didn´t get that.
He said, "you aren´t into small-talk, are you?"
Think I somehow need to learn this... he always has the cam on, too. Gahhh... Need.to.learn.
Are you good at this? Any tips?
Slowly started training again.
Friday: K sadly fell sick, shoot, work-book is stuck with her. But honestly... I am groggy after the seminar and likely would not look up anything anways.
Evening... 32+1. A mild, bit windy night, still 21C/69F after 8 p.m. - I was the only one on the balcony. I counted... in our house we are the only ones with a balcony. All other 32 of the neighboring houses were empty!!!
Why, OH WHY??? Is the telly too important?!
It was a RARE warm Autumn´s night!!
Weekend: Saturday: It´s cold. Harsh wind. Am I glad I went outside yesterday night!
Ingo gave me a better TV-set, went grocery shopping and made yummy baked beans corned beef again.
I was ... feeling the seminar. One more week to go!
My PC said: 8C/46F, felt 4C/39F. Yikes, time to stay in bed!

The sweetness goes away with the chilies and the lime-zest. An interesting taste!
And frankly... no idea why he puts it under the grill.
Means heating the oven etc, etc. Lid on, result is good and it´s no waste of energy.

He puts it under the grill just to brown it a bit I guess and maybe it tastes a tiny bit better that way? The lime zest (not cest) would certainly cut the sweetness and chillies are not so hot if you remove the seeds, but still too hot for me. Also a single potato has no "e" but more potatoes does have the "e".

I think any place a coffee maker fits is where it should go, you are lucky Ingo is an electrical engineer.
I see German words here and sometimes I remember what they are, kartoffel for potato I remember well and Decke for blanket too.
Yes, but our oven needs 10-15 minutes to warm up, that´s way too much energy wasted for a wee bit better a taste, I think. Also the pan is not suitable for the oven.
Google gives me "potatoe" ;-)
I think you can use both - main thing is I am understood, but I´ll try to remember.
It is confusing as I had to "translate" from American to Brirish English for quite a while, that stuck, kinda. Zest, OK :-) Difficult when you just hear it (and are too lazy to look it up!).
I still wonder how Teppsch can be Decke... Funny, you remember that word. I would want one right now - I have the microwave-tiger up front! And hot tea, tea, tea...

I had to smile that Ingo makes his coffee in the bathroom. I don't have a lot of kitchen space either, and so things move from the kitchen to a closet in the basement when we don't use them. It's a pain though, and I often forget about them down in the basement. And I'm glad you tried your chicken. Here we call it Bang-Bang chicken which is Thai I believe. But perhaps yours is a bit different. Have a super rest of your T day. hugs-Erika

LOL the dir-tea. I imagine the Jamie chicken tastes like satay chicken? Coffee maker in the bathroom why not, though they are weird over here about plugging things in in the bathrooms, I don't know why, but it drives me crazy. We always had sockets in the bathrooms in Oz. Did you ever see those Teas Maid machines people used to have here beside the bed? It was like a tea maker and an alarm clock in one, so that it woke you up and made the tea. I must look it up to see if they still exist. Oh they do, sort of but seem to have been replaced by wifi coffee machines! Love looking at your journals as usual. Happy T Day! Elle xx

Mir gefällt es, dass manche Wörter in anderen Teilen Deutschlands anders sind, das macht unsere Sprache so sehr viel bunter als sie sowieso schon ist. Klar weiß ich, was ein "Teppsch" ist, habe lang genug im Schwabenländle gelebt - ich habe mich im Laufe meiner ersten vierzig Jahre von Niedersachsen über Nordrhein-Westfalen nach Baden-Württemberg gearbeitet, und falls ich jemals wieder nach Deutschland zurückgehe, dann sicherlich in den Süden. Gut, dass du vorher geguckt hast, was Kutteln sind - grauslich!

All such interesting stuff and you are learning so much in your seminars.
Loved seeing glimpses of your life in pictures and journal. When we travel, the coffee maker is often in the bathroom or super close by so I know the feeling. It does help with waking up.
Small talk help - assume you are best friends and haven't caught up in years and you absolutely love that person - then the small talk works better. That works for me anyway. ALWAYS start with a little small talk. We are task oriented people from what I can tell (you and me) so it has to be deliberate and something you have to make work even though you want to get to the task. Any way that is how it works for me.
That drink and that chicken look fabulous as does your art drawing.
I live right by the trains but have never ridden on a real one - something I want to do one day.

My oven also takes 20 minutes to warm up so I wouldn't brown things like that, but I expect Jamie Oliver doesn't have to worry so much about the cost of electricity, or maybe he already hads the oven on to bake other things.
I don't drink coffee but my hubby has been into making his own coffee and it is not so bad. He used to drink from a Kerig but read not so great things about them, so he started grinding his beans and using the "pour over" method. It is surprisingly tasty. It brings out the coffee flavor, is less bitter and he doesn't need as much cream or sugar. That is a win!
Anyway, Your DirTea drink sounds interesting. Is is actually tea?
