On the way to Oodnadatta we passed the painted desert in 1999.

Is there a movie you love to watch from time to time? How about Priscilla? As in The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert?

And... weee... I´d LOVE to have such a suit! YAY to the 70´s!!
See the happy faces, the genuine smiles, the clapping, the didgee, the guy who sneakes himself in in that silver suit.
This movie is about two drag queens and a transgender woman travelling from Sydney to Alice in a (pink... oh, sorry, "lavender"-colored) bus in 1994.
You learn a lot about tolerance.
From... "new" and Indigenous Australians.

The son just does not care his Dad dresses up.
And Dad can wave at him, too!
He does a great job, delivers a cool quality show!!

We sadly saw different scenes in 1995, better ones in 1999 and now it´s Perth only always, so I cannot say.
Roeburn especially, and Katherine or ... where the Mini-Bungle-Bunles are, Kununarra... in those places was a huge change to the positive, also Broome...!
And I do think this movie is one we all should see at least once and look behind the facades.
And be more tolerant.

It´s hard here because the people coming here are not. (Not all, but most).
I get mean, hateful looks when wearing summer clothes in summer.
I get not served.
Kids forcefully jumped into my arm to hurt me cause I did not give way (I had recycling glass and paper, heavy weight!)...
All because I refuse to cover my head, shoulders and legs in summer, all cause I want to enjoy the German life-style in Germany.
What is wrong about this???

I am surprised things are like that ... what a shame. You have seen much more of Australia than I have.
The reactionary forces are decimating all tolerance. Sad.

magiceye, no.... I think... I hope and do believe people become more tolerant, like in the movie.
I don't understand. You have to cover your head or not wear summer clothes in summer? In Germany? I'd have trouble with that. I have seen that movie and I do like it very much!
I loved that movie but haven't seen it for ages. Every now and then it comes on tv. You keep rocking those summer dresses Iris, when else are you supposed to wear them 😊
Jeanie, yes. Muslims don´t "approve" German summer dresses, German freedom for women.
And they let you know :-(
Their women have to cover at least... best you only see the eyes.
Certainly not all are like that! But too many.
