I´ll share River today as the second meme speaks to me.
The words are:
The words are:
1. spider , 2. thread, 3. secret, 4. thing, 5. author, 6. recesses
Again a real story as I´m not good in "inventing" or making up... so, here goes...
1995, Australia, Conway NP, for once we planned to stay longer and built up the tent (we usually slept in the car).

There were possums, oh, dudes, you are cute... but "a pest", too, HEY!
How hungry can one be?!
Next night Ingo made fried potatoes. I was too lazy to clean the pan in the dark and put it in the car cause... hungry dudes here, right? Not healthy for them!
Next morno Ingo went to take a free (!) shower and I thought, OK, do the dishes, opened the car-door, grabbed the pan and....
And ... the most (well, Australia can top itself always, so one of the most) ickiest spiders sat right underneath.
I stepped back!!! Then forth again. Threads?! Looks more like a fur. Haha, Ingo, funny, a toy.
Ingo knows I´m like really afraid of spiders and this one had a fur like a dog. The body was as big as my (small) palm and the legs totally short, such a ridiculous toy, you really think I fall for this?!!!
Let me tell you a secret... Poor Ingo had no idea!!!!
That spider MOVED!!!! In the car - in which we used to sleep... AHHHHHHH - it was REAL!!!
I looked around - it was a National park, right?
Usually we slept in side roads or on rest areas.
Here Hippies (they discuss first) and Grey Nomads - too slow (sorry, very likely NOT!).
I yelled... INGO!!!!!!!
Everybody must´ve understood this is a serious thing here!
All heads turned, Ingo came running in underwear (shower, right?), towel in hand.
Look, he was young back then, but already brave. Had a look, reckon put the towel on top and....
I am not the author here, I was really standing there!...
And... he tried to hand that spider-towel over to me!
NO WAY.
In the end he stepped on it and I think we dumped the entire thing (towel + poor spider).
Early morno-entertainment by Ingo and Iris.... (you can guess I screamed in German....).
The guy "responsible for this?!
We gave in! Finally.... Healthy? No, he/she would not leave us alone, so...
Bleh...
Find your own recesses!
Really!!!
Thank you, River, this was "fun", if icky fun!
Once we saw a spider in a tree, 30 cm at least, it was yellow-black-white, ahhhhhhh.....
Really. I am so thankful Ingo, who´d been to Australia already in 1993, never told me about all the insects, otherwise I surely would´ve stayed home!
I would´ve missed out on so much beauty, be it animals or the clean, beautiful Outback sky... the nice people, we made friends there, got married there, HA - spider, you.
I´m sorry, maybe you were harmless and I could´ve even pet you (really. fur like a dog!!!)
Henry 🦁
And no, usually the doors were open just shortly. No time to sneak in (other you ask me about a moth, a HUGE moth).
Yes, two posts again today and please... the other is about Ingo - have a look, if you like and yes, I get up 06-something and am not allowed to start before 09:00 am! Hence I have the time...

Well, what a story to tell. I'm afraid of a lot of animals, but coincidentally not of spiders. Not here in the Netherlands, that is. But I've never been to Australia and it's a different story there I guess.
No idea, actually... it really had cute fur!
But... brrrrr...
...a night visitor!
My friend, Kaz from OZ told me about those spiders. They are called Huntsman and are poisonous!
Cute critter shots, actually.
They are cute!
Tom, yes... First cute even.

CJ, AAAAARGHHHHH! I did the right thing then!

magiceye, reckon you refer to the possums :-)
That possum is cute. Reminds me of raccoons we have here. I was camping with a friend once and a raccoon tried to get into our tent. It was a little
Scary but a good story now. And I haven’t heard of grey nomads. That’s a good name but I don’t want to be one yet. 😀. This was a fun post. Again. Happy Christmas to your. I hope you have a wonderful
Holiday weekend!
Hugs Erika
I love your real stories -- and very cute creatures!
Very cute critter. Spiders are not my friends, I don't like them at all especially big ones.
I would have been screaming right along with you!
The possum is very cute.
I am not afraid of spiders but here they are not so big.
That's a great story! Usually I'm not particularly afraid of spiders, but this one might have freaked me out as well. About 18 years ago or so we visited the Bug Museum in Victoria, BC. I actually had a tarantula crawling up my arm. Funny thing though, it wouldn't crawl up my husband's arm, but it felt quite comfortable with mine. And it wasn't creepy at all.
And that is a very nice view too, makes me want to jump into the water.
Interesting possums.
Coffee is on and stay safe
I don't think I have ever seen a spider with so much fur. I have seen huntsman's and they are big and hairy. I am not afraid of spiders, but I prefer them to stay in the garden not in my house.
You are so funny Iris. I love your stories.
