It's Christmas

Where is my pressie, Santa?! It´s the 24th! 

And, yes, that is my Big Niece, in the pic, she had a Gurri, too 😍

And if you look closely you´ll spot five Henries.

OK - I heard no bell yet, take your time, Santa.

 

No, really. I was in my 20´s already, living in Hildesheim, I think, visiting family and Dad sent me up to Bro where we had to wait till "Santa" brought the pressies.

We always had a real tree, real candles, my personal (fire-) nightmare!

And then Dad went into the hall and rang the little bell.

We were adults, but he was not 🧡 

My hell went on, Christmas with family was "awful"!!!

Dad insisted on fondue. 

 

A huge pot of melted fat sitting over an open flame.

My nightmare.

How often did I get up in fear when a drop of fat made it´s way to the open flame.

They all thought it´s ridiculous, but I was stressed!

 

Plus I´m a cheese-lover and never had cheese-fondue in my life, bu-huu!

Dad didn´t mind putting in the food for me, yet always gave me such a "look".

Later Bro insisted on keeping this tradition. 

Well, that also meant double work for him, I do not go near that pot!

Well, Santa, Braunschweig & Co is today, then make your way to Perth maybe?

And yes, I know I got my pressie already - my job!!!! Just let me keep it!

Yesterday I thought I´m dumb. Guess. 

 

It was also from hell yesterday and when I wrote to C I don´t get it done and... need a break, BOOM - there she was (no break for me, hello to working from home, always available).

In the end she said I (with her help - I had to add that) conquered Hercules!!! 

 

The people in South Africa use a different version and this was really heavy chaos. 

 

And also P came by via MS Teams to wish me a Merry Christmas 🤶
