It´s Udo Jürgens - we went to one of his concerts he gave in Braunschweig - it was AWESOME!

The song is about a man who wants to "get cigarettes", flee the same old life, but in the end goes back to wife and kid. Here are the lyrics, if you care.

"Schimmel", if you speak German, is translated to "mould", but in this case it´s but a famous name for high quality-pianos from Braunschweig (oh, come on, let me be proud a bit of my city, huh? This is the English link btw).

It was some exhausting day yesterday, close the month for the company I work for (Brunel), having the data LAST minute, and... some "awful" meeting - afterwards I asked P for help - she could and we chatted like old friends for 45 minutes or such (I didn´t count it as work-time).
Difficult, if you never met the person for real, but I have a very good feeling.
She´s been in America, btw - she is married to an ex-Quarterback of the Braunschweig Lions!
It´s a small world!
I fell to bed, LOL.
P changed my attitude - and I heard colleagues in the background whining when they heard the name... it´s all so "been there, did that"!

I've been to New York twice - once on my own, in my first overseas holiday, and then again about 6 years later when the 4 of us left Germany on the way back to South Africa - we flew via the States and Brazil.
Exciting city, but I wouldn't like to live there of course, far too big for my liking.

I have been to New York many times but not for a while now and probably not for a long time to come. I like it there - it has the same vibe as here on a bigger scale.
I've been to NY, San Francisco, and much of the rest of the US, but never to Europe. Perhaps we should swap houses for a month or two? How fun would that be??
I don't know if I'd just want to have a heart attack, fall down and die. Better than a sever long lasting illness, yes. I think in my sleep it would be better. But not for a long time. I like living and still have a lot to do. I've heard of Schimmel pianos before. I'm trying to remember what kind I learned on way back when. It was my piano, but my mom wouldn't give it to me, wouldn't let me take it, so now my brother has it. It doesn't seem right at all, and still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It might have been a Schimmel but I can't tell you as I can't see it. Hope today wasn't as exhausting. Hugs-Erika
