(Don´t) Serve Yourself
This is what I found the other day when I left the condo, right beside the door to the street.
And no one nearby.
Luckily the main door was closed.
In the house all the stuff should be safe.
But how often does this happen:
Someone opens the door and fixes it, brings in his push-bike, down the cellar, is too lazy to step down the five steps again to close the door.
The person very likely stopped the car right outside, warning lights on - no worries, common practice here, others take other routes, no two cars can pass each other here.
He unloaded right beside the door cause he lives on 5th floor or such, closed the door, hopped in the car and is gone for... however long it takes to find a space to park the car (my top was over 40 minutes plus walking 10 minutes).
I´d not be that trustful (anymore) to find my groceries still there...

Three Minutes (She´ll "Hate" Me)
So I went to the second Bier-Festival Braunschweig, where even Budda sells beer!
I love how the woman in the following pic gives me a huge smile!
Beer from all over the world you could get, also from SA:
Certainly Klaus Störtebeker was there as well:
Braunschweig is a capital city after all - I met no one I knew.
So you could say, hey, good on ya, that´s a cheap visit, then, cause by oneself it isn´t fun - especially not with all those wasps around.
But then I went to Tiger - I had all the time, no one dragging me around :-)
You have to be realistic, no?
Winter will come.
At least I´ll have a nice fireplace now.
And, amongst other nice stuff, two sandglasses, one for Niece. You´re supposed to brush your teeth for three minutes. I got one for myself, by golly, three minutes is really long, Niece´ll hate me!
It all will go to her Advent-caledar.
Advent, btw.... yesterday I saw it: Christmas sweets in the grocery store :-(
It´s not even September, 25C, sunny. (off to the balcony when I´m done!)
Next station was... Graff, the most dangerous place around!
I ordered a book for Bro´s Birthday and had a look around, silly-me!
"How long (do I have to wait)", that´s 50 cards with ideas what to do while you wait at the cash-out, at the doc, in a restaurant. Nice idea. Age 8+, that I saw at home. Now Niece easily solved puzzles 5+ when she just turned 4, but this really is for kids who can write.
Bummer. Stupid Auntie-me!
"A Sreet Cat Named Bob" really is in the original language - a rare piece in Germany!
"Ocean King" is a report by a guy from France who works on a cruise liner, bet it´s quite interesting, too (thankfully not in the original language ;-)...)!
"The way to luck" is from a woman who traveled 13 countries, talked to scientists, psychologists who do research on luck, From Australia to Panama (the land, that smells of bananas).
"The truth about Braunscheig" - I started with that, and was deeply disappointed. So far two guys who obviously don´t like living here. I put it away and start with the book on luck!
Ingo hates that I got so "dependent" with the years.
13 years we had a weekend-relationship and I was just forced to do stuff myself, but since we live together I left it all to Ingo.
I have especially problems with heat.
But I do learn - again and anew.
I made fire, so to say.
Me, huh?
Am I glad we don´t live 5th floor!
The corn, well.... the corn. Did not only fall to the ground, no, it fell off the balcony!!!!
Picture that!
Me, jumping off - gaaaah, too late!
Shoot!
With the tong in hand, putting the sausage to the side, running to the kitchen, grabbing the keys, running down the stairs, unlocking the garden door, running around the house, grabbing the hot corn, running back, corn in tong... I just had to laugh about myself!
And it goes even further!
I killed my first wasp!!!
Electricity.... bliss!
It´s not OK how Ingo forces me, yet he is right.
I can do more, and I will (again).

Surprise(s)!
This is what greeted me on our balcony - yay, my sunflowers finally made it!
My Dad so loved these flowers...
And R was quite surprised, too, he thought I really did it!
But a) I´m no Aussie and b)... no.
But I like those kiddies-tattoos!
And I was quite surprised when Ingo told me he had them as a kid, too. We´re speaking of someone who was born in 1965!
I can´t remember having seen those when I was a kid. Maybe there was a pause in the 70´s?
Did you have them?

Enjoy...
Only 19C today, partially sunny.
Tomorrow 25, Sunday 32C expected and from Tuesday on we sadly go below 20...
So I reckon maybe a bbq on the weekend! A last for this season...
But summer will be back for us, soon, cause this year we spoil ourselves :-)

Life´s A Happy Dance
When we headed home we heard music of the Golden Twenties in the park and a few steps later saw these peeps - you can but smile to this, no?
I´m still reading the books of Dr. med Strunz who highly recommends to meditate at least 20 minutes each day. And he suggests, too, to find your own method, do whatever works for you.
I´ll give this a go:
Plus soft movement, maybe that´s my thing?
Those who know me ... time, huh? I´m truly German when it comes to that.
The perfect excuse to buy this:
Because I´m also a kid of the 70´s :-)
I´m also happy that living low-carb is so easy!
The only negative thing about it, I have to be done before ### arrives, which is 07:22 (he´s also German...)
Who freaked me out twice today, snoring. That dude fell asleep on the job!!! T says that happened before and he usually put his cuppa hard and loud back down on the table :-)
Happy made me also the truck this morning whose back said "Quick Boys". They sure are!
As the sky, sooo beautiful.
And despite it cooled down to 21C there was a nice, warm breeze when I opened the window wide.
Last not least...
We have enough stuff, but I just love to browse through the catalog!

What An ANNOYING Neighbour! :-)
In all those years I never managed to get a proper pic of our Moped.
I asked R to do that for me.
And he went on a lille photo-session.
The title?
R is afraid he might forget to put in the choke valve, once he´s driving.
That is the official justification for this (turn on the sound, so worth it):
He takes his time, till she´s warmed up enough to put the thing in before heading off.
And certainly he grins cause the moment she goes off with the first BOUM all the dogs in the neighbourhood start barking like crazy and his neighbours are annoyed jealous!
She´s not our Moped anymore but Maggie, but who cares - these "only smartphone-pics" are arty and I still have to figure out which to get printed out in which size!
No worries, I think this very well may have been the last post on her.
For now ;-)

Just The Best
Yes, I know, I´m a tad early with a calendar 2016 - but seriously - who could resist these beautiful pics of my wonderful city?
Plus... I just bet you find gingerbread and all the xmassy-stuff this month in the stores already.
Poor kiddos. When did they bring it on in the 70´s, December, if I remember right?
I know it´s all subjective, but to me Braunschweig is one of the best cities in the world.
Braunschweig, and the actual #8 :-)
I´m wearing the WA-Perth-shirt, as you can see, funny coincidence, no?

Thursday It Is
I admit, I´m one of those guys who looks forward to the weekend-ads.
I sat on the balcony and browsed through them all yesterday.
And I think this really is a nice idea: Saying thank you to the staff by printing their names :-)
Might not be the truth, but I like the idea.
And funny thing is: In Switzerland I have two cousins, Yvette and Yvonne!
Maybe they moved to Germany and work for Penny? ;-)
Sadly we lost contact, when our Grandmother died...
And I really found something that I´ll get for an online-friend who is waiting for it already, yay!
I loved this sad, funny movie!
In case you very shortly saw this pic on FB... my SD-card is broken, also my old ones, so I took my HUAWEI and loaded it up there to safe it to my PC.
"Technical problems"... solved for now.
Off to the store now!
And on Thursday I´m hopefully early enough to get this DVD for this sensational price!

Not For Babies
Ok, so I decided to keep it going with the personalised Advent calendar.
But only for Niece - right?
A one-year-old has no clue to pressies, right?
Right?
Or is it unfair?
And yes. I know it´s only August!
What irritates me, btw, is that the Filly books all have English titles, what is that for?
They´re German books I bought at ALDI.
A "Baby-Advent-Caledar" would be a stupid idea, right?
Help needed...

Brüderchen And Schwesterchen
That´s the title of the book I presented Bro with yesterday, actually called "Bruderherz".
One page says, "you sometimes make fun about me".
Well, I have to do that to him, too, at times, and we both laughed our heads off, when I did, I just forgot to mention it in the birthday-post, because, one thing is true, too: "at times we are so different from each other" - obvioulsy I tend to forget stuff for a while!
Or maybe I´m just old ;-)
After Bro´s refilled the water the second time... he exclaimed:
Wow, that´s a penguin!
I nearly went down to the floor, laughing! Cause... see here!
Yes, pic taken here.
And, quite frankly... I didn´t hear Niece saying "penguin", she just thought the whole thing was "cool".... As Daddy, as Daughter ;-)
Yes, three posts on one day. No one will read this, I reckon, but what the heck.
I just sit here and laugh silently once more.
The book also says "I laugh, cause you´re my Brother", and on the next page, "I laugh, cause you can´t do anything about it!".
I end with: I love my Bro, aka Brüderchen!
Eeeeeek!
If all the employees would come with bikes like that... ew, Telekom you sure make a fool of yourself with that aggressive color.
My 2 cents.
And nice on a rainy day, I bet, so... well done for those days at least.
How To Knock Out A Dad
My Niece is five years old (full pics again here).
Phew, where did the time go?!
I arrived shortly after 10am yesterday and let me tell you. The Little Giant Girl-shirt was... no hit.
Accepted, that´s all.
The cheapy-Aussie-tattoos were much better!
What can I say, understand a 5-y-o!
Little Niece stayed with her Mumma in the kitchen - did she have a choice? - until she went back for a nap, and I took care of the Birthday-girl.
I am thankful, actually, for the strict rules we "play" with, at least I know what I´m supposed to do.
Funny was when Niece wanted to travel to Australia. By car.
You cannot go to Australia by car?!!!!!
OK, then by boat.
Hmmm, we´d be on the boat for a couple of weeks.
OK, by plane, then.
...
HOW long does it take? (4 hours by car to Frankfurt was only the first shock).
TWO planes?!
But we did it!
Bro came home with a Ten Without Ham - lucky me doing only low-carb did highly enjoy!
Then we were joined by the little Sis who really is all Daddy! LOL!
After a while she was all smiles again and stayed with us.
Respect to all parents, taking care of an highly excited 5-y-o-Birthday-kid and a nearly one-year old is no easy job!
But we managed :-)
And then the guests showed up, all cakes were carried into the garden - and here she is!
Five!
The "tennis-rackets" were really needed, so many wasps! No one got stung :-)
Little Niece will be mobile soon!
Four years ago Niece was crying, the slide was way too scary.
Little Niece doesn´t mind!
Well, she had her big Sis with her, right?
I love this pic!
And the kids loved to fly!
And the formerly so sporty Daddy.... LOL:
We found also some time to talk, Bro and I, it was a nice Birthday.
Back home I drove through our quarter and ended up outside to park the car.
Walking back two drivers took off.
Bad timing on my side!
Sunny and hot today, too, awww, I just love summer!
