With this I join Elizabeth's T, of course.
The journal. Let me tell you... pay a buck more for proper pencils...!
Monday: First time we were able to really watch the Super Bowl!
We are fans but not so crazy to stay up all night in Germany and take a day off.
But in Perth it was morno!
19:16 for SF in minute 1:53 with a 40 yards field goal!!!
Luckily we did not fancy a team, we might be near a heart attack!
6 seconds - field goal KS - 19:19.
END OF REGULATION! First in 48 games!!!
For non-footy-fans:This is 48 YEARS!
Coin toss!!!! Another FULL quarter to play!!!
Nearly interception by KC...!!!
Later 3 seconds and TOUCHDOWN KC - seven longest game in history! And we were to watch!!!!
3rd time in row, too, for KC!!!
Later CBD, Ingo got a TG-7, also. In red, too.
Another kid's meal shared, was too much.
Tuesday: Freo and it's prison, post to come.
The Crime Tour as we'd seen the inside twice.
The guide asked if I need a break and Ingo thought I'd pass out.
It's like when I was out of work. I think I am OK and to others I look "bad", weird.
Wednesday: Lazy day at home.
Wrote some postcards. Trip to BigW and Woolies... the little things.
And, weird. Self-checkout: Detergent, check, kitchen-knive: assistance required!!!
She had to confirm we are age 18+!!!!
Bread for free from the reception along with a nice chat.
To those who say: why that crappy Caravan Park: Kookaburras wake us up, it smells of eucalyptus whilst watering, the ravens keep us entertained. and magpies chat along.
Or, short: Our HOME since 1999 💕
Thursday: 43C/109F, too much for our cabin, BOOM, dark again. 5 times.
I insisted on going to Hillarys for a swim. Ingo went very fast on foot. I felt my face and legs burning from the inside.
I have too much of my Dad's genes, he felt too hot at 23C/73F already...
I should've gone on my own at my own pace and I would've been fine!!
Ingo did not join the water but I met two older men. One jumped right in, the other and I .... step by painful step, until he looked me in the eye: "three, two, one.... GO!" - and in we were.
Such a joy to really SWIM again!
We had a beer and then the long awaited licorice ice-cream. What.a.disappointment!
Friday: I was sick. Never run in the heat. Sad Ingo needed to "make a point".
I CAN stand the heat- when I go slow.Like EVERYBODY ELSE!
Weekend:Saturday: Grace & Pat picked us up and we headed to Sami and Jose for two lasagnas (one for the 5 of us and a special one for Ingo, made in ghee instead of oil).
Yummy, then fresh fruit with cream along with wine, beer and nice chats!
Sunday: Got up at 4:00 to follow Grace's tip and sit outside.
Lesson learned: Kookaburras sleep in on Sundays! And, yes, I caught a cold in the heatwave.
Sneezing, coughing and I need loads of tissues, too.
Taylor Swift-mania here (she has three shows in Melbourne). One scene was cute: a little girl was brought to her, she talked to her, gave her a hug and put her hat on her head. Happiest little girl I've ever seen.
Went to ALDI. Germany is better, BUT: I got self-raising flour!
Yes, people! Self-raising flour is still not available in Germany!!! I want to see it's magic, not do on my own...
Munch-wise a chicken I let rest on the table outside for hours:
Just like 1995, Darwin: We used to buy four small spinach-cheese pies, ate two, put two in the car by the front window, were still hot for the night!
8-something, sun down, brought out the trash. Like walking through an oven still.
I feel for those without aircon and in tents!
The AIR had 43C/109F. The BITUMEN gives you much more...
Sami heard in the news without trees it throws back 40C! Small trees here, say,75/167 altogether. You.get. grilled. She lives here since the '80s and cannot remember a February so hot.
Be careful what you wish for! I wished for warm, hot-ish weather, but not this...
