Saw a movie yesterday, about the Pope running away from his duties.
I fail to understand why the Pope-thingy was on the news here for days.
I grew up without religion and you often heard bad things especially about the catholic church, so why?
Anyways, this was a fun movie nearly - and that is what the new Pope wants - join (will not as I simply do not believe in this).
I went to many a Gospel concert and enjoyed the energy, the fun and here they enjoyed a game of volley ball! Nuns, cardinals, all together, like normal people!
Fail to understand why they put those burdens on themselves, but everybody as they like....
They did the games because the Pope had been running away!!!
They wanted to keep peeps at bay, pretending the Pope was watching from his home... but he was roaming around, no one recognized him, he was a normal person and... finally...
... then he really had had it and left into a "normal" life.
It was a great movie.
And kinda proved me right.
Listen to your heart, be a kind and caring person, that is that.
No matter what you think, my friend fK is a believer, too, and she knows I am not - RESPECT is the key. She is a graduated engineer as well, and... so what? We hug and have fun together and yes, her partner, with whom she has two kids, is female and makes sure I have enough to eat. She RESPECTS our friendship and we hug as well.
May the new Pope in real life help people to respect each other, I´d be happy!

I was always old, too, on one hand, as I had to take care of my baby-Brother early on.
But then.... I have no kids myself and have a sign "If you haven´t grown up by 40 you don´t have to".
I am old but not an adult.
And a student...
And, well...
I miss you... I was 5 month in the making and so friendly, I hid, no one saw me 😉
My Brother needed ROOM!
Gone since 2011... DARN CANCER, YOU!
Put Money in going to Mars instead, yes, that is "wonderful"...

It was on for days here too and I was fascinated. I'm not Catholic but I think it is a big deal as he is considered a world leader in terms of influence both for the large number of Catholics worldwide and in general. Hopefully, his messages will help bring peace and compassion to the world. Or at least remind the world of its importance even if some never listen.
We ALL should follow this... naturally and by heart.
Yes, I hope for this, also. It is sad, though, we need this - it should come from inside everyone...

I read a story about a priest and a nun running away and getting married. That was big news because they both were Catholics.

Maybe it's just me but I don't understand the whole pope thing, I just dont' see the point of even having one. But I do think you are like your mum though :-)

I'm not very religious either, but I am happy that this new Pope seems to want peace and love in the world. And thanks for the shout out. Yes, the movie was an eye-opener but to those who need a pope I hope this one is doing a good job. Really? None in our families (plural) has the mini noses my Brother and I have.... Well, his Daughter has it, also...

The Pope news was world-wide and I just hope he is as good and kind as Pope Francis was. I was "old" too, a little bit, having to look out for my older sister who was brain damaged at birth and also for my younger brother, with his epilepsy. But only while playing in the yard and later at school just keep an eye out, didn't have to do actual mothering. No feeding or nappy changing.
Had to change nappy once cause Dad was like "yuck - you do it!!" - was just pee, thankfully... Yah, well. The Pope. I understand it is important for catholic people. But over days and for everyone? It luckily didn´t hurt :-)

I was raised Catholic but left when I realized that women were second class in that church. I am no longer a believer anyway, it just seems like folklore and a cult to me. But religion seems to make a lot of people happy, so if that's their lucky rabbit's foot, it's nothing to me.
The pope, I do not understand all the hoopla. I was very glad to see it end. My parents though would have been ecstatic that an American was chosen, I think.
