You come, too?

("Kommste auch?")
Wellness-days.... I won´t go, but awww, isn´t that frog too cute?
(Pic taken from the driving car with me as the driver - with daylight provided, the cam is just great!

Dunno why, but I just love frogs!
And have a Work-E-Mail-Friend who is literally afraid of em! How can that be?! She´d freak out if she came to visit me, for sure!
As soon as the weather gets better I´ll start my new projects:

#1: capturing all frogs in the apartment!
#2: bringing the red-green-theme on screen.

Maybe I start with #2, I´ll see.

So far another pic of my king-frog neclace:

Adorable, no? Taken by Ingo through a magnifier that was pinned on an old webcam!

Else?
Life is just floating by.

  • It´s rainy. Since days. Grey. Dull. Like November.

  • I´m managing - with a good book, that is! - up to 60 minutes on the push-bike in the gym. Then I really don´t feel anything from my butt anymore. Too sad, otherwise I could go on and on! I´m reading a book about the question can robots be afraid of their death? Interesting - and very funny, though scientifically looked at - teachers: take that as an example, read books by Bas Haring!

  • My colleague had to leave the project, the customer has no money anymore for two guys. No good.
  • Ingo is still looking for a job - two dream-jobs wait for him, but it´s all so slow - keep your fingers deeply crossed, please!

Addendum
BTW... what got frogs to do with Wellness???? Anybody in with that, please let me know!
They make me feel good, maybe that´s why?

Addendum #2
I added the label "King Frog" :-)
And any frogs will get labeled with that - King or not. Says the Emperor! (Which is my last name, translated to English)

Bring 'em back

I´m reading a book about hallucination at the gym (by Dr. Ronald K. Siegel who tried the drugs first hand to give his research true depth). Quite interesting, a mixture of story-telling and science.

In the chapter I read today he describes how he invites a patient for breakfast and that he had "French Toast". So, at home I wiki`ed French Toast. Haaaa, it´s "Poor Knights (of Windsor"). Too sad I don´t like sweets. I might take a culinary journey back into my childhood.

Our Grandmother, who is dead 7 years in April and who helped raising my Bro and me (yes, just us! The other 14 grandchildren saw her only from time to time!), she made Poor Knights every now and then when she had some old bread rolls.
She made them any time during the day, beside the meals. And not in my mother´s kitchen, where she always prepared lunch for all of us (parents both working full time), but up the stairs in her apartment on the small, very old stove.

She served them on the small kitchen table that is now in our kitchen:

Some days you just wish you could bring back the old days, no?

It´s really a great book, btw ("Hallucinations: Expedition to another reality/ Hallucinations: A Wiley Biomedical Publication), I now know that my brain really did trick me for good one time and that it´s totally ok, too.
We came back from a holiday, far away. Jamaica? Cuba? Very little sleep for a long time. I was sitting on a chair on the station platform, "guarding" our baggage whilst Ingo went down to the public phone to call a friend to collect us there.
I swear... it was my father´s voice coming through the speakers - asking for himself ("Mr K., please, Mr K.") - I was awake like crazy after that.
Gosh. There is so much I´d like to tell and show him. I still, after all those years, can´t believe I will see him never again.
Maybe it´s not such a good idea after all to have pics all over the place and not just in an album?
All the times I was away so long, I´m just used to not see my family for quite a long time...

Well, yes. I did clear that table yesterday, btw!!!

Why Attract Attention?

So this morning around 6 on my way to work - still completedly dark - I thought, man, are both this guy´s rear lights off?! Man, that´s dangerous!

No, wasn´t the case!

I was on the left lane, hence faster, and saw in the rear mirror: Also the front lights are out.
That guy was driving without lights!!! Only illuminated by the surrounding cars and the few streetlamps!!!

Now... were all 4 lamps broken? Or was the cockpit dead, too??? He must have realized something, no???
Was an old Golf III, I guess.

D' oh!

Sante de Santis (german) says Benvenuti, amici!
He tries to make better cooks out of us. And it´s a tough job, it seems.

How can a woman skin potatoes before cooking when she wants to make "potato in the skin"???! In German it´s called "peel-potato", the name says it all, no? Gaaaahh!

Seems I am a better cook even! At least I understand the German language. An excuse might be that the TV-Show is from Bavaria. No. Not an excuse!

To come of age II

First: Thank you guys for your opinions on that matter of the last post!

Nearest I thought, hmmm, Yips, Wendy I am, but I do not feel grown up.
Well, Hammy. I still have to wait for my "little" Bro to come up with kids to say to, "back in my day..." - I thought!

Until yesterday.
Nothing was on TV. So we "watched" a show. It was about "The Most Successful Exports Made In Germany" related to music.

So. There I sat. One of the guests was having a "hair-do" where I thought, man, did you just get out of bed or what?!. Gack. I felt old. Or, grown up! Grown out???

Now, what did we have here, what successful Exports can we come up with.

Tokio Hotel. GACK!!!!

And, sorry, when I hear the name "Ramstein"... I have to think of the Ramstein airshow disaster back in 1988, but no, there is apparently a music band called Rammstein. Well, music... the style is called Neue Deutsche Härte, "new German hardness". Noise, to me.

My customer had a huge campaign with the new Scirocco. They were searching for - actually a good idea - for one of the guys who actually helped building the car, and who could sing. The producer was the great Leslie Mándoki. Who?
Yesterday did reveal it. He was the lead singer (and dancer!!! I remember that!) of the band Dschinghis Khan, hey, brother, ho, brother, ha-ha-ha-ha!!!

Oh, man. My Mom loved that one song, Moskau. And, being stuck in the car... you get the idea, burned into my head forever!...

In general, all the ads these days are LOUD and AGGRESSIVE. I hate that.

That makes me feel old.

But when the TV is off... I do agree with Red Dirt Mummy. I´m not sure if I made the jump to 28 already, but it must be "just" a state of mind, the age you feel inside. And it doesn´t even matter if you have kids or not. I feel relieved I´m not alone here!

Haha, being not alone... This is what I got for Valentine´s Day (ok, I wanted to have it, but Ingo paid):

Another green item, yay! And! I can switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit, maybe I learn sometime the Fahrenheit-scale!

Happy Valentine´s Day, everybody!

To come of age

Or "adult", "grown-up", "grown".

If I had an accident and lost my memory. How old would I think I am?

You could tell me one of those chairs is mine. That I´m probably still a student, renovating in the flat share, looking forward to the bottle of beer after the job.

I knew I´d have a driving license, but apart from that I don´t feel very grown-up. How can that be? I make my own money, I depend on no-one, financially at least. Is it because I take responsibility only for myself and no-one else?

How feels being grown-up"? When am I "grown"?
Anyone else feeling that way?

"You don´t have to...

have everything", said Ingo when I saw a cute King Frog at the bookshop on Sunday.

I agreed.

He made it to my home none-the-less:

It´s always good to have friends who know just what you really like! :-)

Amongst the belated Birthday-Pressies were furthermore... um... a face pack "relaxation - good evening" and another one "energy - reload". Ow, seesh! ;-)

Something Green When You´re Blue

Well. What can I say. Sometimes things go wrong. And sometimes it´s hard to fix 'em. It´s hard to find a start.

What made my day a bit was the parcel I got. You could´ve guessed I can not go past this green.

Sadly that Frog King isn´t available at the moment, I can check again in 3-5 weeks - and I will!
Because... sometimes you just need a treat, no?

And so far there was another:

Isn´t that a cutie? The necklace is too long, gotta ask my Bro to take care of that. After all that thing wasn´t a cheapy, so I can dare to ask. Despite I don´t like the color of gold, I just love this one!

Yes, the vase made it´s way over here also - and a ring with a green fluid inside:

So. So often I had a look at this. I´m not a cook, I know. But... I did it:

Bigger than I thought - the adhesive tape "unwinder":

Even the parcel itself was fun, a bit - a real person wrote "Have fun!" on it and added that flower, too:

Yes. I wanted the first pic to be green. That´s the real reason for going backwards ;-). All crap stuff from Pigmento (German). A dangerous place, and the guys are real quick, too!

In two hours a friend will come over. Guess that´ll also help a bit.

Addendum: What do I find at the bottom? :-)

Fire and Ice

We went to Fire and Ice (german) today. The shops in the City were open and there was "Winter Family-Fun".

We shared a Mumme-Beer (german):

And Ingo went into the kitsch-stores with me, yay! :-)
A real man! :-)

And certainly Henry the Lion was carved in ice:

Ingo bought me a ring - according to my last name, Emperor, a ring with a crown just fits, no? :-)

This, on the other hand... is just... dumb [sic!]:

Without words...
