Fire & Six-Thirty

You find a "fallen" traffic cone at a parting of ways. Put it upright? 

No! Glad they showed what to do (didn´t know this):

Those cones show the firefighters which direction to take!

 

It´s kinda funny.

Kindy, we have to walk with laterns and I freak as some hectical, dumb kids set theirs on fire.

 

Easter fire. I scream my head off till my Dad takes the burning torch from my hand.

 

Christmas time. The Advent wreath catches fire and.... weeeeee... panic as I sit far away from the door.

All that happened when I was around 4-5 years old.

 

I was maybe 12, supposed to supervise my little Brother whilst doing homework.

He went to the kitchen, got a light&cross, a piece of a very, very dry piece of "bread"...  and put it in the toaster, thing stands in flames - let me tell you I can get loud.

Till the day he fails to tell me why he put that thing in a toaster. It IS already cross!

Then... with whom do I end up? An Atemschutzgeräteträger, what else?!

An Atemschutzgeräteträger is a firefighter with this addition:

Wiki says: "A respirator wearer (in Germany AGT) is a person who is both medically and educationally capable of wearing a respirator (usually: Compressed air breathing apparatus, rebreather or only respiratory mask with respiratory filter) to wear. These devices are intended to prevent irritating or even toxic substances from entering the eyes or respiratory tract and thus the bloodstream during work or operations."

 

Luckily Ingo is too old now for this. He was a volunteer and each and every time I was sick with fear.

 

Well, so, in case of parting ways... cone stays the way it is so...

 

 

And now, what do I do at work? I translate documents for... firefighters.
