... now what? Throw into the green bin?
Not me.
Post war-generation does not throw away food, right.
Plus... these look as sad!
I think the wine did the yummy trick and no, I used no recipe.
... and lazy as I am...

Pastry-, pizza-dough, does it even matter? Next time I´ll try yet another, this stuff Jamie often uses, filo, which they did not have.
Feels like we live in GDR - you can buy what they have... not what you want.
Anyhows, sssst:
An honest work.
Her prompt was also:
"The First Thing You See Today".
"The First Thing You See Today".
Well. Bathroom, brush your teeth, right? Wash your face, take the tissue from the "old man´s nose"... I think he´s from the Easter Islands, maybe just a copy...
Ingo and I share, but each has a (toothbrush-) head on his own.
Later I defrosted food I´d cooked too long ago.

Looked soooo yummy, formerly fresh mushrooms, cauliflower, lean meat, frozen into a form you could think it´s a calzone.
But....
When you cook from scratch, fresh, without chemics... it goes bad, it seems.

Tasted strange, smelled strange, I had a slice of bread with cheese instead.
Alas, lesson learned!

Good that you used the tomatoes and basil. Nice art for Rain.
Thank you :-)
Yes, if not bad (like the mushroom-thingy, sadly) I do not throw away.
nice pizza! I would never use Filo pastry for pizza though. It just seems wrong to me.
I always put a label with the date when I put things in the freezer. I know some things are good for a couple of months, others need to be eaten sooner, so that's why the label.
I have to try and find that book. maybe ebay.
You´re old-fashioned when it comes to Pizza, LOL!
But YES! From now on always with label!!! Darn. Looked so good and... ewww...
Yes, the book is a lot of fun!
I was really sad when I was done. It´s so well written, too, funny! Sensible...
Tomatoes look Ok, and the sauce very nice. I try to use all our stuff up especially what I grow in the garden and greenhouse
The tomatos were very crumbly outside and way too soft to eat.
Oh, we only have a small balcony...
As long as the tomatoes have not gone bad, I won't them them. Yes, they make good tomato sauce for pizza. I love pizza.
I really liked your art for Rain too, and your sauce looks like it turned out really good hugs
...I grew up not wasting food!
Nancy, yes, Ingo would´ve thrown them away - but then... he doesn´t like pizza ;-)

Kathy, thank you :-) Hugs

Tom, what I see at times makes me sad on that sector. Mad.
Especially in those "all inclusive"-hotels... But also kids here in town. When I was a kid I not even had the money for fast food - how times have changed!
Defrosting food is so tricky. I'm not sure what I think about having a freezer other than for ice cubes and ice cream. When I freeze food for later, I usually forget about it. Sad and what a waste. But nice drawing for certain. I love the tiki looking head. Hope Thursday is going well for you. hugs-Erika
Yes, such a waste!!! Buhuuu! It looked so yummy! And I put work (and money) into it...
Time is to blame - it runs too fast!
From now on: Label with date PLUS make a sheet on fridge when due. LL... lesson learned (the sour way).
Mr. Tiki says hi and gives hugs
Your lunch looked good!
I hope you mean the Pizza...
Yummy gravy (that's what tomato sauce was called in my Italian family) Ma would use the leftover gravy for pizza or in Pasta Fazool (Fagioli). As a short cut to pizza dough, she would use frozen bread dough, thawed. Mange!
That sure sounds Italian and made by hand with love!
Definitely - homemade :-))) is the best.
Warm greetings
What a great idea. It looks delicious!
The lean meat probably could have walked to the bin on its own. :)
I have learned to put labels with the date and what things are before going in the freezer. I always think I will remember what it is but I don't. The sauce looks great.
Nice way of using sad tomatoes and basil. Sad about your mushoroomy lunch.
That book - what's the name of it ... it describes me!
That's what I would have done with old tomatoes, only it would have been turned into pasta sauce and eaten with pasta and parmesan. Same idea.
Gosh, that text, reminds me of early high school (5-7th grade - it was still called Sexta, Quinta, Quarta at my school); yes, the girls were like that. Later I stayed away from these confidences, they usually brought more trouble than anything else.
Barwitzki, I agree and warm hugs back!

Divers and Sundry, it was just all there :-)

Bill!! LOL Let´s who is on the way next!

RedPat, yes, I learned this now, too.... I sometimes alsoo can only assume what the stuff is (that is going to the bin).
____
Charlotte, yes, so sad about the lunch, it looked so good!
this is the book, btw. Funny, smart, clever and well written!

Carola, pasta sounds as good!
Was that in Bavaria with the school names, I wonder.
I luckily had real friends and kept away fom such ones... But if... I also would´ve kept "the secret", LOL.
Hi Iris!! Oh the pizza looks very yummy! I'm just like you, I try to use everything, even if it's old and limp lol...that sounds funny! ☺☺ I love your sketch too, you got the details done really well! ♥
