What a great sign for today, don´t you think?
Now, I´m no freak or geek on this, my...
And just for fun some more signs:
Tiger, Lion... to cats! The note to the right is from blogger-friend Bertiebo (yes, it makes me still smile every day, thank you! And I try my best to follow this!)
Cats... dogs... I´m up to it still and if you only visit via Tom´s Signs2, here goes:
Six-Thirty (see title) is about a female scientist in Chemistry in the 1960´s - it was a man´s world!
And she fought for it becoming a human, an equal world.
A stray dog was following her one day, she didn´t notice. Her boyfriend looked out the window and pointed at it, she thought he wants to know the time, it was Six-Thirty in the afternoon and hence she named the dog like that :-)
She fights her way through for women being accepted in the man´s world in a funny, semi-scientist way, very well written!
Here she is at her new job as TV-cook, going the chemist-way.
And here goes (shortcuts to the essential):
And today is the beginning of a tough one and I ask you please for being tolerant and more is to come on this, as in to make it "milder" - this is purely science-based (and reflects the 1960´s!) :
And here goes (shortcuts to the essential):
Book here.

I am loving this book, I have just finished the chapter where she makes a spinach casserole and gives it to the producer of her TV show.
I never say Grace either. in my family I don't remember ever hearing it, my whole life. I know other families might or do.
Was that the episode where the producer said now she calls Popeye a liar? LOL.
My Father´s Sister once visited with family and for supper she said, to fold your hands and say Grace. My Dad jammed his fist on the table and very forcefully said, "not in my house!"
I´ll never forget that. She grew up in the place, too. So much for tolerance.
He should´ve said, "go ahead, we wait till you´re done".
Bad example... or was it?

That was a pivotal moment in the book for certain. Cats are good, and so are dogs. They are just different, as they should be. And let's hope the world stays big enough for all the cats and dogs. Hope you're having a good Wednesday. hugs-Erika
Have a good day, Iris.
Happy Henry's day!
I have not been following the book too closely, sorry, but I like the ideas put forth. Happy Henry Day! Cheers!

Happy Henry Day!
Yes, that's the episode. I also found later in the book where she DOES say "Boys, set the table" because she is looking in the camera directing the comment to five BOYS who are watching the show because their mum is in the audience and has just been given that day's casserole to take home.
I think it might have been polite to allow her to say grace, but not make everyone else say it, OR, maybe polite of her to not say it just this once. It's a tricky situation. I would personally opt for allowing her to say it while we wait for her to finish, but not joining in.
Christine, Henry says hi! :-)

River, well. Tricky, is it - the grace-thing.
Especially since they grew up together, Dad and his Sister (she never felt like an Aunt to me. When my Dad´d passed she dared to fold his hands to prayer and stuck a red rose in them.
He did not pray and loved sunflowers.
Mum had to tell me to drive to Ingo´s place so I do not rip that "Sister"´s head off - I was MAD at her. How did she dare.
Mum was a fine person. His coffin was covered in mini-sunflowers.
