There is something called No-Mow-May, where people purposely don't mow their lawn in May to give the bees flowers to feed on and get stronger after the winter.

Yes, we used to have a lot of freedom. My younger sister and I played and roamed in the whole neighborhood. We had to come home when the streetlights came on. We also used the tram unaccompanied. And cycled to school unaccompanied (12 km) but often met friends on the way. I was born in 51, those were innocent years.

We mow part of the lawn but leave a big patch full of bluebells and other wild flowers, it's Alfie's favourite spot too. Your bunny doesn't look too happy, maybe he didn't get his chocolate egg. That's an interesting way to work the password too. Have a good weekend. Hugs Angela xXx

I do love Supernatural and I love the rectangle of flowers left for the bees and I love pancakes which I had for breakfast, my son-in-law was the cook and we all enjoyed them.
I was unsupervised from the age of seven, dad was at work all day, mum had left us, but everyone in town knew who I was so if there was ever any trouble (there wasn't) they all knew to get my dad.
To Supernatural! And to bees. I still need to make pancakes (have a recipe by Jamie) - any advice on top?
Yes, I think I was 7, too, but no one ever knew where I was and I did dumb things (skateboard, roller-skates, bike.... bloody knees...)

Also in Denmark we had the come home when the street lamps. Those were the days. I try to give my kids spme of th same freedom, but parental pressuer is a bother. Sending a daughter alone by train to Copenhagen, met with stares and harsh words. She was 9, dad picked her up at the station, she knew the way, it was 6 pm. A couple of months later we went to a city nigths in a nearby town. I went with my children (9 and 5) and met a lot of her classmates - unaccompanied! It was 10 pm, the fair had alcohol boots, and served "tasters" fore everybody, drugdealers are always at the station ... Since then I mostly followed my own advice.
I need to make a menu like that for my Mother. I would have to add "What do you want?" and make it something I can eat frequently. Ha ha.
I loved those unsupervised days where I could be gone for hours as long as I was home in time for meals.
I like the menu too, but it is sad we have to supervise children all the time now. I don't think people have gotten worse,but for some reason there's more bold or even stupid people out there. When I visited Japan you would see little children out along walking to school or elsewhere because it was sage and no one thought to take children. Poor bunny, but he is too cute. Love the funnies but I really like that you were a shop kid. There were six kids in my family, I'm the oldest we would leave the house in the morning and we just had to be back for dinner. This was summer time. No one worried where we were. It is so different now. Thank you for sharing with FFO and have a nice weekend.

I do'nt think I've ever seen the supernatural series, I think my daughter watched it once when she was young but that's about it. Hope you've had a nice easter, it was very quiet for us.
All the kids in our neighbourhood were out & about all day doing lots of things that kids these days aren't allowed to do. And we survived!
