Now this sign startled me for more than one reason.
a) each and every time my brain, when I pass one of these shops (a chain here), yells at me: "Rücken-Fabrik"!!!!
In German ... yes, you can "backen", bake. "Back".
I am old, I hate the mix of words of different languages (have finished the studies on "German Grammar", yipeee, a wonder I went through life this long here - I know nothing!).
Back, OK, German, but "Factory"????
They produce backs??? Chiropractor or what is this?

b) these are three very fulminant breadrolls and they call this a snack.
Nice: Mehrkornbrötchen, many a corn on the breadroll. And Pute is lean meat - but I already see the fat jamming out (mayonnaise). Kaiserbrötchen, oh, nice, my surname in it. And Rösti, ohhhhh, I LOVE the Swiss dish, Rösti. The last one, eggs, nice, too.
But this is not a "snack"!
c) the price. You just cannot produce quality food with this money.
And everyone yells for "local", "good for animals"..... blablabla and yes. When I ... or Ingo for that matter, when (not if) we buy meat we pay a little more and take care the animal had hopefully really a bit of a good life.
Well, and d) there are no people at the cash-out. How would I do this, but then...
e) YUCK.
And the place is always crowded - they must be good or f) people are dumb or g) have no normal tastebuds.
Rant over.
In case you wonder: I had a close look. No hearty pies. I will have to order online and NO! Not good for environment. I know. But then Bonn is not that far away. And do not ask me why an Aussie chooses to move to Bonn. He´s from Melbourne, this might be an answer...

I´m preparing kale I bought at the Braunschweig market, washed, dried,sauteed and froze it to have a non-seasonal snack from the airfryer. And yes it works!!!!!! YUM!!!
The freezer ate up energy, yes.
But the airfryer is a quick thingy.

The snack-pack is not meant for one single snack. It is for three people or to keep and have one snack at a time for three days. Although I do know some people who would eat that much, but they would call it lunch or dinner NOT a snack. If I was to buy such a box it would be to share, not just for me.
I watched a docu on how "Americans" eat "only" fast food and know no end. I think "Germans" are following.... I do not really care, but it shocked me. A bit. If you keep that for three hours it´s gone bad 😉
Also the price shocked me. That can only be crap.

Define "leader". Also here they are but greedy, since... I cannot remember a good chancellor in Germany. This day is great - I found out I am on holiday since Monday!!! Hugs to that!

Yes, but I can imagine some really eat all that, or, what I often sadly see, throw the rest away. On the ground. For the pigeons.

Giant snack - hand me a Zuckerkuchen any day, or Streusselkuchen ... Back-Factory (Yes, stupid name!) ... I loved this place in Salzgitter-Lebenstedt. Wonder if it still exists, I have bought a zillion Laugenbrezel there, and Kartoffelbrot ... But Die Steineckes were better, and the best was their café in the local Obi (Baumarkt) genius, the men could walk around looking at tools and so on, while the ladies and kids had coffee and cakes. Don't know if that was (is) a local chain only or it exists everywhere.
Oh man now I need!! German bread and cakes!
I would pass on that. The mayo looks to be way too much too.
Kale chips are a much healthier snack.

No Kuchen-fan, but an Obi exists in Helmstedt still! Braunschweig has Bauhaus and Globus - they had a food-truck with Currywurst (yum!).
Australia was a place I craved German bread - now they have it!!!!
LOL, in the Asherton Tablelands in 1999 we found a COles that had a French baker and the "petit pain" was like our Brötchen. We stayed three days just because of that!!!
So, yes, "yuck"!

Yes, I just saw a YouTube-video of a German who migrated to America and claimed "all Americans" eat but fast food and way too much. I thought, "go back to Germany then!" and skipped. Such nonsense! "Americans cannot cook". Go home, boy!
I don´t know, really! Ingo and I always share a burger. No fries. Friend fK takes half meals home, too. But I had a colleague, ohhhhh, boy - he did not eat it was feasting, every day.
