Double-Half or One Ten without ham

Having (nearly) everything twice, being no longer just one of two in the week. Being a Pizza-lover like no other, disliking ham, hence the new title.

Can We Get Rid Of It?

I just found this pic...

This is Ingo standing in the bedroom trying to check if we can recycle...

The darn containers are emptied once a week and you can be sure a few hours later they´re full of plastic-"recycling-stuff" (is it burned anyways? Shipped to Italy to go to the ground of the sea? Who knows...).

Guess every man in this street is standing at the window with binoculars when "Alba" comes to empty a container. To see if it´s plastic. And then everybody runs out with aaaaaall the plastic "gathered" all week. My, do I look forward to summer. Then, you not only see the darn stuff - you smell it, too!

Is recycling as difficult in your place?

(paper and glass is ok, just plastic is not. Might be cause the Cultural Centre Brunsviga brings its plastic there, too - I think they´re not supposed to!)

Sounds like a really bizarre set up! Apparently all our rubbish is sorted on conveyor belts and the recycling is done there???

Well.. I do hope they recycle! But, you hear of findings of "recycle-material" in the weirdest places. Money has to be made, after all. Live today, don´t care about tomorrow!

Each residence in our town has a normal bin (weekly pick up) and a recycling bin (fortnightly pick up). I'd say we put just as much in the recycling bin actually. Pretty easy to recycle here. Schools even collect soft drink cans.
