Time runs, it was July when I got this plain bag.
In the same store I found stickers, that Ingo quickly identified as buttons - how great is that?
So I took a needle and yarn and...
Now I have...
And on the way to the city I even get a little feeling on how it can be to "have to go" on a boat...
(Really is it so difficult to level that?! They should have all the material!)
But... seasick I do know what I´m talking about!
We were in Crete, on the way to... Ingo, if you read along... toilet is to the right... 🤣
We were on the way to Santorini on a rather small ship. It even had a very small "theater"!
The waves got higher and higher, that boat was rocking and people... puked.
Everywhere!!!!
And I mean everywhere. I needed to go pee, forget about that, the loos were... not a pretty sight. Or smell.
Minus the smiles - of course!

I am half a fish-head having been in Tornesch near Hamburg very often, two Uncles engineers in shipbuilding, one built his own boat, took his wife and baby-daughter and passed the Bermuda Triangle unharmed.
I can take waves. At age 2-something I managed to clean the other Uncle´s boat when on tour.
On the boat to...
...we tried to escape to mentioned theater.
Another woman sat there already.
I will never forget that.
She needed to puke. And did that into her hands. And it was too much for her hands.
Puke everywhere.
But we made it there, luckily, Santorini is beautiful!
How a cheap bag can bring back memories, huh?

I remember bags like that! We called them beach bags and into them we would put our swimsuit and towel and walk to the beach, then change into our swimsuit and put our folded clothes into the beach bag, taking out the towel so we could lie on it on the sand in between swims. At the end of the day, back to the changing rooms where we would shower off the salt and sand then put our clothes back on and put the suit and towel back into the beach bag and walk home again. Most of the time we didn't bother, just wearing our suit and carrying the towel, the beach was only five minutes walk from our house.
I've read books where people going to Santorini would get seasick from the rough seas.
Only 5 minutes to the beach oh, lucky you!!!
And not caring about your clothes how wonderful those times were, I remember that, too!
These days you need a waterproof safe you take into the water with your keys and a bit of money, how sad.
And yet I miss the ocean!
Oh, funny, really? Glad I never knew about the puking - I might´ve missed Santorini hence. The smell made me gag all the way!
You may the "smell",hundreds of well filled stomaches-> presented on the floors! I Think you like Pizza ;-)

I hope you have some real travel in your near future! Italy would be good. On long trips I never have room for nice beach bags like that ... too much to carry.

Cute bag. I've been to Santorini on a plane and no one was sick I'm pleased to say. I think if I saw lots of people puking I would probably have been too.
I love the bag with the buttons sewn on. I get seasick easily so that would not be a trip for me.

For sea sickness, we use acupressure wrist bands these days. It's been working for the kids & and is supposed to work for adults, too.

Santorini is a place that has always intrigued me and one I'd like to visit -- that blue and white, the sunshine. I LOVED the smiles you shared together. And your blue bag is just darling. I love it -- the fabric, the buttons, everything!
