Isn´t that ladybug too cute - oh, and the bird, too!
Yes, Ingo played the good mailman again!
In case you have no idea (I had not!) dear Kathy took care and put this on the back of the card she sent me! (Thank you!!):
Also I feel better, too!
With all this I join Annie with Friday Smiles.
I certainly also join Nicole with FFO - if Nicole can join herself... wish her well (yip, she did!!! Follow the link!). I am on my way up, but health seems to be not a friend atm...
Emus, a Platypus and a roo - all from Paul Moro, in Freo.
Did you know "The emu is the second-tallest living bird after its ratite relative the ostrich." (wiki)
I nearly (!!!) killed two of them. Hups. Could always brake in time - they are FAST!
And "The platypus sometimes referred to as the duck-billed platypus, is a semiaquatic, egg-laying mammal endemic to eastern Australia, including Tasmania." (also wiki)
When the first platypus came to a museum (? I read this "somewhere") the person to see it thought someone sewed different animals together!!! We saw them for real at Eungella National Park.
And for the roo wiki says: "Kangaroos are four marsupials from the family Macropodidae (macropods, meaning "large foot")."
Yup, large feet. And claws. And power. And their relatives aka Wallaby love coffee - be careful! Here is proof!
This is only Ingo´s cup (in 1995) where he had coffee in BEFORE - he filled it with water. Three times cause the fella could not get enough of the taste!
As
explanation: The Wallaby went to me for food (I had none even), I
called for help as it came too near with it´s claws. Ingo took care. This was in some National Park, too, they have no fear of humans (obviously).

What a pretty card, and I am so glad you had a translation.
I enjoyed reading about your 'Aussie faces'. When I was very small I had an Animal Annual at Christmas, and I was always fascinated by the duck-billed paltypus, and I have never forgoten its name. Have a good week. Kate x
Yes, I would´ve been lost without the translation!
It was great seeing these animals for real. It was 1995 and we had no camera with us, so sad!
I have SO many pictures that are but in my head...
Weekend soon, I wish you a happy one x
I love coffee but was told to refrain from coffee because it is not good for indigestion and gastric problem.
Nancy, same here. No coffee for me...
...Henry can have my coffee!
Mine, also!
Such a pretty card. I'm a coffee lover too so understand.
Hugs,
Annie x
Annie, I sadly cannot have coffee no more - you get mine - hugs x
That's a lovely card Iris. I think that is a stamp I've had forever, but it is nice seeing Kathy using it. And I am loving those Aussie faces. One day I hope to get there. Happy FRiday. hugs-Erika
So glad you liked the card-I had fun with this stamp. I ended up searching out the two authors-and read a book that I found on amazon-that had this same text in it and then converted to english, also Larry found a movie about these two on the tv-that was a wild coincidence haha I didn't care for the movie as they changed and went off script too much from the book.
The animals are too sweet-and Henry has me smiling haha I can't have caffeine anymore but I enjoy a quality cup of no caffeine coffee tastes the same without it.
Glad you are feeling better Iris-hugs Happy Weekend-oh and the full moon is glorious over the lake this week
Happy New Year Iris and Ingo.
Hope it brings you both health and happiness.
A very nice surprise and a lovely card. I do love the Aussie wildlife. Thank you for showing them for FFO. FFO is up. I put the wrong day for my automatic link up. Hope you are feeling better.
Henry sure looks like he needs a coffee!
Erika, reckon we are one community!! :-)
Yes. Let me know, maybe we meet over there, wouldn´t that be fun! Hugs!

Kathy, what a STORY behind the stamp!!!!! I will treasure it for sure!
Yep, same here... no more coffee or my stomach goes through the roof...
Looking forward to moon-pics on the lake, big hugs!

I love the kangaroo that’s drinkng from a coffee mug! Your adventures in Australia must have really been fun. I would love to go there again, but I’m nervous about flying such a long way.
Happy New Year …. mae at maeood.blogspot.com
A cute wallaby.
I got a card from Kathy, too with that same quote. I love mne and yours is fabulous. Yuor faces are great, too.
Mae, exactly what keeps us apart - the long journey! With mask, too....
____

____
Elizabeth, I sure cherish the card :-)
The faces say thank you!
Hi Iris, I'm late today as I have been for the Breast Screening today, just the usual check up then of course I was busy with puppies but peace at last as they are both sleeping but not sure how long it will last. Sadly birds are good at getting in the way of cars. We don't have such big ones here but the little ones just run over the road. Dogs love coffee too, I have to watch where I put my cup!
Wishing you a very happy day. Hugs, Angbela xXx
That's very good information about those animals, info that I didn't know. Glad you're feeling better. I love coffee.
I love coffee and just had my 3rd cup.
Angela, eeek. yes, I´ve been for that screening April first time, too.
We need to be thankful we have that, huh?
No, we luckily have no such big birds here, either! Weeee, they are really fast!
We have deear, hogs etc...
I sadly cannot have coffee nor more, have a cup one me! xXx
____
gigi, you´re welcome. Oh, why can´t my body take coffee no more?!
___
Bill, please have a 4th cup on me :-)
Love those drawings of the Aussie animals.
I don't drink coffee either.
RedPat, thank you :-)
Sad - one cup a day is said to be healthy, but coffee makes my stomach hurt these days...
Enjoyed your post! The Australian animals are cute.
That's very cute, the wallaby drinking from a cup :)
I have only seen platypus at the zoo. I used to see emus when we lived in a tiny Army base town in Victoria, they would come out of the bush and dig in the rubbish bins for food. Some people would feed them and if you ran out of food while they were still hungry they would chase you for more.
P.S. I love the quote on that card.
Christine, you´re welcome :-)
____
River, holy moly!!!! You cannot outrun an emu, I´d be scared to death!!
What a thought to be chased by such a "big bird"!!!!
I remember some tourist feeding a possum. Yes. They have claws. And they use them! Of course.
Oh, boy-oh-boy. How fast goes an emu - 60 km/h?!
I am enjoying my coffee even as I read this. I am just a bit leery of wild animals.
So nice to received treats in the mail from good friends, I don't know how big Emus get but if they are like Moas they are huge but if they are like Ostriches they aren't too bad.
Australia is on my Bucket List and if and when I get there, I will be sure to bring coffee with me in the outback. Actually I am not supposed to drink coffee because of BP, but I just resort to Decaf and do all the other things I need to do to stay healthy ... it seems to be working. Meanwhile the poor Wallaby wont get a caffeine buzz from my coffee :) Love your New Years Card and your Happy Aussie faces ... Hope the New Year will bring you much joy and many new experiences.
