#2 - Secret piercings

"Among the tightly laced corsets that defined fashion around 1800, there was another secret: piercings. Breast piercings, to be precise, were a daring trend that captivated the European fashion scene. Women who wanted to make a statement and push social boundaries adorned themselves with golden rings, which they carefully inserted through the delicate skin of their breasts. The idea that these piercings could promote breast growth or correct their shape may seem far-fetched today, but it was a prevailing belief at the time.

Victorian women were prepared to put up with pain and discomfort in order to be socially accepted. The presence of these hidden piercings is a reminder that even in this prudish and proper era, there were people who were prepared to challenge norms and express their individuality through daring and unconventional means."

 

Crazy fights for freedom, huh. Others fought for women to vote in politics. 

But one thing is clear... women always wanted to be equal and free...

And in so many countries they still are not.
