Sunday Mish-Mash

Please, peeps, what the heck is a "Burpless Cucumber"??? A very polite one?
Pic taken at our Woolies.
It's so wonderful to be "home"! Home, yes.
First time we had this cabin was 2013 and there was a hole in the wall, fixed a bit.
It's still here and one friend said "OMG".

Quite frankly, I grew fond of it, look, isn't cute?

Like a dinosaur, don't you think?
It aged beautifully in over 10 years.

What a program from  2008 can do,huh?
(Yes, an old  program Ingo gave me, it is free)

And... look what we got!!!!

The  fence, brand new, the table and chairs, aww.
Learned the freaky neighbor - who greeted me yesterday morno at 4 a.m. ...
He lost everything in a fire. As three others who live here.

Went shopping, Ingo wanted to buy bread - I said: no!
See, we redecorated our cabin a bit... let me show you all in one snap:

The sofa is the same from 2013 where you can not sit on.
We moved the table in the middle, the TV on the stove and the bread you see...

Our caravan park gets delivered food where the best before-date is done.
Some sad bread there, waiting to get picked up! Also fruit, veg...
This is new to us - and great!
I said, "dunno what Ingo would like?"
"Take two...there is sooo much!", said manager S.

We chatted a bit till someone else popped in. Fun times, she  is from New Zealand and really eager to make this place a home again, yippeee!

We waited 5 years for this and so far everything is turning out great!

I leave you with this:

Showered with fresh water, nice!
To Perth!

Please, that  cucumber, any idea?
2:48 a.m. - fully awake.Still on German time...

Australian dollars, like in euro... no idea, but what about the name?
It must be royal!

Hello Iris
You asked about burpless cucumbers. Apparently there is a new marketing trend and it’s all about the new variety of cucumbers that won’t make you burp!
Burpless cucumbers have low cucurbitacin content, that is the chemical responsible for the bitter taste in cucumbers.

I'm not certain, but I have seen that term before (about the cucumber). I think they're the seedless kind. Glad it's warm and you're enjoying being home. Think you'll ever move there? hugs-Erika

It's what Jan said. I don't burp with normal cucumbers, I remove the skin.

I've never heard of burpless cucumbers before but I'm intrigued! I will have to have a look next time I am in woolies, see if we have them here in Queensland! :)

RedPat I AM happy:-)

Jan, thank you for that link-I had trouble to believe it!!!
German cucumbers are never bitter (haha, it's cold) and I never ever had to burp from one!!!
There is so much out there I do not know!!!

____

Sami, do you remember the German ones? Skin on, not bitter, no burping!
That's why I didn't understand...

Mica, nice to meet you on this cold day, only 37 C!
I truly never had to burp from a cucumber!

Low Carb team member explained the cucumbers and I used to buy those when the kids were still home years ago, but now I buy the smaller lebanese ones.
Your cabin porch looks nice, but it's sad you can't sit on the inside sofa, is it broken or just uncomfortable?
I like the "fixed" hole in your wall makes you feel like you've come home. Something familiar, always in your memory.

I never ever burped from eating a cucumber! German ones must be nice (due to the cold?)
The sofa is old. You sink in, you never get up again (or hardly, I tried, thinking they fixed it...).
Yes the hole is "ours" :-)

Hahaha! I always laugh about burpless cucumbers too. They are quite the trend. Also sometimes called English cucumbers i think, maybe because the English are so polite?
Your little home away from home sounds so nice. Will you share a photo of the outside? Trying to imagine what it all looks like

Sit out on your patio on the bright red chairs. Enjoy the warmth and sunshine for me!

So glad you feel like you are home. That is nice. OMGosh $300 for a cucumber? I hate it when the veggies are sprayed. Here in the US you never know what they are spraying with. I have asked and can't get a straight answer. I'm so happy you are there.

Sue, are the British really so polite? ;-)
I'll take pics from outside for you today.

_____

CJ, will do!:-)

Nicole, same here, even local might not be local in Germany...
And hence: Very happy to be here!!!
