The "Catastrophes"

Maybe you'd read that when we wanted to fly to Perth there was the longest strike in German railway history and magician Ingo managed to get two out of five last seats on the flixbus for us.
We got the flight to Perth!

Last Wednesday night in the news they said QANTAS will go on strike.
My heart sank and I thought, what did I do to deserve this?!

I mean TWO strikes for our for five years awaited adventure???

One: QANTAS does not fly Germany since like forever, so we were very excited to hop on them again.
Two: Ingo'd booked the train one YEAR in advance.

Early up, via Transperth bus, train, bus to the domestic airport on Thursday and...
Flight to Adelaide...
CANCELLED.

I felt like Rain Man - and I met him!!! Post to come!

WHAT???
So, we ran. It took a lady I found some whopping, stressing 10 minutes, but finally...

In these minutes I've aged 10 years. Inside at least.
This plane was only half-full and really very cheap, the staff was super-friendly 😍 and I had the first banana-bread in my life.

ALL GOOD!!!!

To top this, when we entered the airport there really was a lady in a blue hat with a mask on!
I certainly had my red hat ready and quickly threw it on!!!

It certainly was fellow blogger River!

She had cards for us to ride the bus (bye-bye paper-tickets)!

So, we went to the city, such beautiful, old houses on the way.
Next stop the markets.

I did not take a pic, but I can tell you for sure they had Whiskey-cheese!
A stand from heaven, cheese only!
But Ingo was on the run....

We shortly stopped here, too:

You'll see some murals from these places soon, too.

River guided us to the correct train station (boy, that would've been a bad adventure without her help!!!) - big thanks!

I took these pics after dear River'd left as also sadly there was SUPERLOUD life-music.
Try to happily chat along!(we did our best!)

There were  drinks and hors d'ouvre - Mom would've been SO proud of me,I had...

It was delicious!

Then it was  time to investigate!!!

River presented us with bags! Perfect, a place to throw in my passport, as I gave my backpack to the train! Ingo got a smaller men's version, clever, huh?

They certainly were not empty!!!

Nellie got...

She'll be soooo happy!
But the true highlight was this!!!!

In Germany I will try the functions light, sound and driving!!!
I am SO happy you do not get bored about me being so excited about trams (and trains)!

Sad side-note:

"My Frankfurt-tram"'s development  went to Bautzen, Austria...
Let's see what awaits me when I'm back, Vossloh, maybe.
ALSTOM Salzgitter has a hard time...

When I started working for ALSTOM and saw the workplace of one of the customers I thought, "freak!".
Now, this tram will be added to my workplace, it will be the third one, another sits on the window-sill and I will show you more later, freaky-me ;-)

Adelaide's animal you saw in this post, the kids-eater 🐥

Hope you are able to get a refund from Qantas. So nice that you managed to meet up with River and had time for a bit of sightseeing too. Great gifts too.

The actual travel in traveling can be challenging at times, can't it? I'm glad everything worked out. It sounds quite complicated though. Glad you arrived and hope you are having some fun times too. hugs_Erika
