This is the last part of our journey with the Indian Pacific (almost).
As you can see, the Outback can be quite busy!
The train-driver happily announced we'll in a minute pass the little town of Forrest.
Guess.
Superlong freight train passing through! The driver promised this place exists and really, when we had internet in our cabin in Madeley/Perth, may I present to you:This is Forrest!
At least we saw this we only passed by car so far in 1995:

We really all took a pic!
All were nice - except the one you always have, of course.
A "lady" from Great Britain, we met her on day one and found ourselves at the lunch-table together again (oh, whilst I type a Kookaburra laughs along!!!).
She threw a fit like a three year old! Because... the menus to choose from were camel or halloumi.
"But I checked WHITE MEAT!!!! There is NO white meat!!!!" The poor staff, she really stayed nice, said she talks with the chefs, came back, offered chicken with rice."I do NOT LIKE rice!!!"-Salad? -"I HATE salad!!!!"
She ended up with a chicken-sandwich, your loss, lady!!! Her Hubby grew smaller and smaller in his seat.
I had the camel-curry and had to make clear I'd like a very small dessert only and want to end with the camel as it was super-mega-from-heaven-yummy!
The staff lady laughed and said her Mom also always told her to keep the best for last.
I sent compliments to the chef.
I once tried camel-jerky which was ....never again, but this curry,hmmmm....

As you know I hate to get my pic taken, but she really made me laugh!
They really gave us a wonderful experience.
And once it has cooled down a little we'll visit Perth Zoo, so long my key holder has to do!

There is always one who makes demands and spoils the experience. The camel curry sounds delicious. It's been a long while since I saw actual outback territory. So much open space!

That eagle is said to "eat" small kids, it's the largest in the world!
I’m curious if you are seeing any animals in the wild? Like koalas and kangaroos? Our trip was to a very different part of the Australian continent so I don’t know what you can expect. The train ride looks fascinating. Enjoy the rest of the trip.

We saw one kangaroo, some sheep, cows... it's like really dry on that route...

Camel curry! Never thought u could eat camel. This is a wonderful trip, cute koala girl.
That's a wonderful photo of the two of you -- such happy smiles and you both look lovely. I'm glad they took it and that you posted it! It all sounds terrific -- but there is always one in every group. Maybe she should have stayed home for fish and chips. Well, I bet you made your server's day being nice and with the good words on the camel!
The eagle is gorgeous! WOW! And it's always interesting to hear the tales of people you meet along the way. I hope the husband survived the 'fun' trip! haha!

Not sure I would eat camel meat, but I wouldn't make a fuss, I would just eat the salad and rice. Some people can be annoying and embarass themselves

Hi Iris, what a great experience. No matter where you go or who you meet from whatever country there is always someone that's not satisfied, it's almost as though they think they just have to make a fuss to show how important they think they are. Luckily we're not all like that in the Uk. It brought back memories for me of when we were in France one year when the Mad Cow scare was on and they gave us Kangaroo instead, there were a few people who said it was cruel to eat this animal yet they were happy to eat lamb. Half the people in the hotel were pretending to be skippy (The Bush Kangaroo)if you remember the programme. They were skipping around making Kangaroo sounds. Have a great week. Hugs Angela xXx
