This is still from my dumb idea to visit Zoo Hanover in November.
Does anybody know (haha, bet all but me) what kind of bird this is and if these fellas are used to snow? Even the reflection looks freezing....
With them I join Eileen´s Saturday Critters.
It was not only freezing cold, but also windy, so we rushed through and didn´t look where the sign is...
Next animal was this:
Then....
Henry 🦁
Don´t go to the zoo when too cold or too hot (#Perth)...
But at least with K it was a bit of fun...

Freezing laughs from your frozen zoo adventure!
Hello Iris,
I do not remember ever visiting the zoo in the cold winter weather. You are brave. Your birds look like an Ibis or stork, I am not much help. The real gator would not like snow. The Gorilla exhibit look like a fun way to learn about the gorillas. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment!
Hello Iris :=)
Brrr! I feel cold just looking at your photos. You would have to snap those exhibits quickly to get indoors and see the Gorilla exhibit. It made me smile to think that you had the courage to visit the zoo when snow was on the ground I could not do it.
All the best
Sonjia.
...let's go back in summer!
wow I have never visited the zoo in the winter time-the bird might be in the plover family not sure though
happy weekend
That bird looks like a Blue Heron. Not sure though. Brrrr. cold here today as we prepare for your fist snow storm of the season. I'm like Henry going in and staying in. Stay warm!
Shiju Sugunan, it´s still cold, 2C/35F... I put it that way: Not really zoo-weather!

Eileen, I´d rather call it dumb ;-)
Hm, I then wonder if the birds cannot go inside?
I just took this pic, we had a short peek and went on - to a great weekend.

Sonjia, sadly that was the gorilla exhibit and we could not see the gorillas, it was closed. I was just stubborn as last time we were there was 2000, I think and I thought, if I´m in Hanover anyway...
All the best to you, too.

Tom, yes, still this month :-)
____
Kathy, don´t do it, not worth it ;-)
Happy weekend by the lake, hugs

CJ, a snow storm, oh, my! Here colder weather is predicted, too, bleh.... Let´s stay warm!
Brrrr...you are brave to go in such cold weather. But it's neat to see your photos and I agree that they look like some kind of heron. I hope they all have a warm place to roost!
I sometimes go to the zoo in the winter but never with snow on the ground. Brrr!!!
The birds look all puffed up against the cold. I understand that feeling.
Brrrr! But still, you came away with a story to tell years later. "Remember the time we went to the zoo and froze our a$$es off?"
Lavender Dreamer, I hope that, too, but if they have why did they stay outside?
Brave or dumb, I´mm not so sure ;-)
____
Divers and Sundry, really, in winter? I won´t repeat this!
____
RedPat, puffed up, oh, yes!
____
Sue, you made me laugh! Guess you are right! ;-) We sure froze our a$$es off! ;-)
Winter is the wrong time for so many pleasant adventures! Good luck finding a better thing to do.
best, mae at maeFood.blogspot.com
Will do!. Watched Food Fight today, the docu, very interesting.
Sorry I'm late getting by. I've been having a lot of naps today. :) hugs-Erika
Appreciate your bravado to venture into the zoo in such cold weather!
I LOVE gorillas, The African toilets look interesting. I have no idea what that bird is but it looks miserably cold. You will have to go back in warmer weather.
Erika, napping is goooood :-) hugs to that and thanks for popping in!
magiceye, never again!

River Ii do not like Hanover, so I thought if I´m there for Banksy anyway, let´s do the zoo, too, and K agreed.
But K goes often with her partner and kids, so maybe I join them in summer.
No idea about the bird sorry, maybe someone else has some information.
I just hope they can get inside - we have snow again :-(
