Kinda Real

Unlike us this Polar Bear enjoyed the weather in Zoo Hanover and with him I join Eileen´s Saturday Critters.
Let me show you around a bit...

With the weather being so darn cold it really gave you an idea how Canada is like!

Henry 🦁

This zoo is very well done, I think...

And as Tom let us know, I join:

This one works as a Banksy-key-holder....

And, side-note: My calender this weekend (13/14 of January) explains the frisbee was invented on Jan 13th 1957. In West Germany it was called  "Segelscheibe" (Sail disk), whilst in East Germany they refered to it as "Schwebedeckel" (Floating lid).
I really must finish my post on this East-West-thing!

Hello, Iris
The zoo looks really fun. I love the Polar Bear and Henry the lion.
It is nice that Santa dropped present to the miner. We may feel like we are living in the Yukon this week, it will be too cold. Great post and photos.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a wonderful weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.

Eileen, thank you for hosting! :-)
Here it warmed up a bit, but we were down to -9C/15F...
To a great weekend!

Henry sure seems yearning for Africa!

Yes, it´s cold!

...WOW, frisbees have been flying since '57? Iris take care and stay warm and well.

Tom, yes, I didn´t know, either!
I love these calendars.

I bet polar bears love it when it snows at the zoo. Maybe not the lions though. I certainly looks like Northern Canada with the snow in the photos. And I love how the date on my journal page is a real engineer's birthday. Fun coincidence. Enjoy your weekend too Iris. hugs-Erika

Erika, I was just too curious, so I googled the date :-)
And next Perth Zoo will be on the list! Wish me luck it´s not too hot for the animals then! Hugs

I have a row of little rubber duckys in my Jeep! Love seeing the zoo and it's probably a good time to visit!

Polar bears always seem to suffer in the summer when in zoos, so it’s nice to see when they are comfortable.

We have polar bears at our zoo here in Memphis, TN, and I always feel sorry for them in the summer even though the zoo has methods of cooling off their space.

-45C in Alberta Canada out west today. Toronto has been mild, not much snow although we had a storm last night.

The polar bear does looks quite comfortable there, Iris.

Iris Flavia said...

Lavender Dreamer, yay for the rubber duckies, but no, I think I won´t go again in winter...

_____

Mae, I agree very much!

____

Divers and Sundry, yes, it is wrong. Though I can imagine they get used to the heat eventually a bit.
When we are a couple of days in Australia the heat doesn´t feel so hot anymore, despite we came from real cold weather....
I hope it works for bears, too!

___

Christine, that is HORRIBLY cold!!!

____

RedPat, yips, just his weather, and well fed, too...

I love the Banksy keychanin and also that fabulous lion. Lots of fun photos are in this one!

Brrrr. Looks cold indeed! Great photos, Iris!

Iris Flavia said...

Jeanie, the keychain is too fragile to use, so it hangs on the wall - maybe wanted by Banksy!

_____

Sue, it warmed up a little :-)
And thank you, was a cold but fun day.

I really like Zoos. Good ones that take care of the animals. Great photos.

Rubber ducky day! I took my giant rubber duck (which is probably plastic) to the twins to put in the little splash pool. Ana carried it around saying duckduckduck. Too cute :)
That really does look like Canada and had to smile at Klondike Kate's, I think there actually was a "Klondike Kate" but can't remember if it was a laundry or a whore house, or maybe it was just in a movie I saw.

Thanks for sharing your fun zoo day, Iris! Have a wonderfully warm weekend!

Jan, the thanks goes to Tom :-)

_____

Nicole, this one takes very good care of it´s animals!
They explain a lot, even in these nasty temps!

____

River, that reminds me of one The Simpsons-episodes where Ralph in German runs around the group of kids yelling "EnteEnteEnteEnte... EnteEnteEnteEnte..." which is duck!
The Simpsons-producer do write real life-stories!!!! I really had to giggle reading this!!!
As did laundry or whorehouse!!! Is there a difference? ;-)

Shiju Sugunan, thank you - it warmed up to 3C/37F, yippeeee. To a great Sunday!
