As it was his dream - now coming true - to ride the Indian Pacific - I bought this set for his Birthday.
Mr. Ingo Sherlock Holmes found it.
Surprise is gone.
But maybe that is - and now I have proof he must lie!!!.... 😉
See, in 1999 I filled the car at a gas station in the Outback of Australia, went inside to pay, needed certainly ice for the Esky, too, and found a cake for his soon upcoming Birthday.
Picture this:
I have a 1.5 kg-ice-bag in my right hand, in front of my body and the left behind my back with the cake, hence I walked like an old witch.
Managed to open the car-door, threw the cake in, put the ice into the Esky and hid the cake carefully till the Birthday.
Ingo CLAIMS he didn´t see anything.
Does he think I always walk like an old witch?!!!
Well, now he saw with an eagle eye his next mini-Birthday-pressie (that will be in September btw!).
Mean. Very mean.
I sent Ingo to work with a can-cake and he only ate half, so we have half a chocolate cake left.
And no... the candles don´t fit into the trains´ holes... that might explain the low price...
Ack. To surprises going wrong.
But then we always make pressies when the time is right, not for fixed dates...
How about you?

...a can cake is new to me and perhaps you need to take walking lessons, Iris.
Tom, W says I walk too fast, so... ;-)
I think it's a guy thing to snoop. My Brother found where Ma hid the Christmas presents. He carefully undid the wrapping paper, looked at what was inside, and then carefully rewrapped the gift. Ma never knew! I don't think we have canned cake. We have brown bread which is baked in the can. Enjoy your weekend!
Your Brother is even worse 🤣
My train sat there more or less openly - I just didn´t expect Ingo to pop in...
Cute how your Brother hid it, though - and he told you, too???
Yes, we have that bread, also. Makes one full in an instant!
Happy weekend to you!
Time to cheer! Surprise or no surprise!
Surprise and cheers!
I don't think that we have anything that cooks in a can. Surprise gifts are the best.
Peeking at a surprise is not nice, it takes away the happy moment.
RedPat, I had no idea of the can-baking, either... Ingo finds the weirdest things!

Bill, well, I´ll find stuff for other happy moments :-)
And he just had one... you never know what happens in a minute...
A neat little train.
I love the little train! I should go to Aldi here and see if they have one for my little redhead dolls to play with. I have a free day on Tuesday...
We don't have can cake or can bread here and maybe I wouldn't like it anyway.
William, thank you, I could not resist!

Oh, River I´m afraid you will have no such luck - I bought it right after Easter (why ever they had trains for Easter...).
We have a public holiday on Thursday, maybe I have to take Friday off, too... Ingo does.
Don´t you have "soldier"-food? That bread comes in cans, but I don´t know if it´s also baked in there. It tastes a bit like that.
The cakes are really sweet - Ingo also has a huge cake-can with Schwarzwälder... brrrr... I don´t think I want to help!
