One more time I can join River with her Wednesday´s Words On A Friday.
This week's words/prompts are:
1. artificial 2. sector 3. insect 4.lawlessness 5. midnight
and/or:
1. Wednesday 2. complaint 3. lake 4. biker 5. moon
Just yesterday, not a Wednesday, but a Thursday, of course, my ESE-teamleader and I spoke about the dangers of AI, artificial intelligence! The lawlessness, that comes with it, betrayals and all that, how careful you have to be these days with data.
To give away, to click on.
As you know I am not creative, my mind just picks up memories.
A sector of Coober Pedy came to mind and the movie Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, speaking of lawlessness and being brutal against people who are "different".
I wanted to take a shower in the public place there. The women´s sector was closed, so I went into the men´s ones - all separated cabins, btw.
BAD idea. Not allowed, I thankfully learned afterwards via a big complaint, feeling at least refreshed again.
Why the heck is that not allowed?!!! Separated cabins, hello! No one could see me naked, not even one of the countless insects you usually have to deal with especially in Australia! Even around midnight, when you need to get out of the car for a pee in the light of the moon.
If you are really unlucky you join a party by the lake. The party-guests will be waiting for you. No lawless guys, just mean, hungry insects. Flying, crawling... if I had known before I never would have visited (thank you, Ingo, for not telling me! Cause once you´re there, you take it - like the the beauty of the rest like the Southern Cross in an unpolluted sky).
Well, that was in the 1990´s.
In Perth I found unisex-toilets last time, btw.
I missed one if/or-word, right?
Here goes, the biker sure is Ingo.
I miss our moped, she was a Harley, too, as in River´s story, but we always met friendly people who liked our old, loud lady.
It´s also my Brother who once took me with him on his darn Ninja. I only closed my eyes and held on at 220 km/h! (A Harley goes at 80 km/h, that I am used to).
Henry 🦁
He was far away back then.
I had friends here in Braunschweig already, but did not feel so much attached to our lovely city yet. I was studying in Hildesheim and later lived with Ingo and his Granma in Rhüden.
Thank you for the memories with this meme, River!
Two posts again today, hence.
For a smile just scroll down 😊

...you have a wonderful driver!
My friend, Kaz, originally from Melbourne and now retired to Tasmania, told me stories about dunnies and huntsman spiders 😨😱😨😱😨😱
Tom, now he is my walker "LOL". She is gone. She was made for country- not city-roads...
__
CJ, we were SO.DARN.LUCKY nothing bad happened.
We were so dumb to gather firewood with bare hands in 1995 and never checked our shoes before hopping in.
I once nearly touched a redback, a deadly, tiny spider...
We were LUCKY! Dumb but lucky 🙈🙉🙊
Does Ingo still have the Harley?
It was our Harley and no, we sold her.
She´s not made for the city... Sadly...
Sorry to read that you had to sell your harley.
Yes. Well, she had a kick-starter only - nothing for the city - and it´s fun only in the country, too.
That's quite a story! Yes, AI scares the heck out of me -- I can see so many places where it all goes very wrong.
We need our brain - we "old guys" can do that. I worry a bit about my Nieces & Co...
I'm glad I could bring back memories for you. And why not a harley in the city? Here in Adelaide I see many motorbikes, even Harley's. In my stories any bike is always a Harley.
You are right about the flies here. Not in Adelaide, but up north in Port Pirie and beyond, as soon as you step outside you are surrounded by dozens of tiny "bush flies".
Well, River, she liked to "drop dead". That meant I had to hop off, and as she was for one person only get up the right side of "my" foot-rest, Ingo hopped back on and if not first time succeeded we stood in the way for quite a while. No worries on a country road, but in the city you´d be doomed.
The new owner was from Volkswagen (now retired), rich and now she has an e-starter. Plus, also, he lives in a village.
It´s no fun in a hectical city.
I don´t know how Adelaide is these days but 1995 Sydney already freaked me out with the chaos in the streets.
A Harley is for driving with an open helmet, sniffing fresh grass (if you´re lucky) and enjoying the sound and otherwise the quiet...
I hate those flies, especially the "lip-flies". No all of them, LOL!
At Wave Rock people wanted to buy our nets for quite some money (we said no and enjoyed the fly-free-day!)
