Twisted Peppers?

Didn´t my cam do a super-great job here???
If only I wasn´t in the background, gah....

Here is the whole picture:

Well. We had filled peppers on the weekend, YUM to the brim!
Lots of work but worth it!

It seems to be important to take canned mushrooms.
Chop them real small, also onions and half of the peppers.

Keep the biggest peppers to fill - cut out all the unnecessary stuff but keep the stalk.

Rice, you need, also, cooked, and of course...

Grate it.
Huge pan.
Some fat (butter or whatever) - pepper-pieces, onions, rice.
Season to your liking (curry and paprika is a good idea, as always, pepper, of course).
Later mushrooms.
Cheese.

Stir!!!

Fill the mass into the pepper-halves and last sec add fresh, chopped parsley.
Add broth, too! The peppers like a soft ground, but don´t let them swim.

Off into the microwave until soft´n yummy.
Three halves day one, the other three day two - you want the work you put in last long, right.
Makes 2 meals for young, 4 for old peeps like us 😉

Not even such a mess, the dish-washer (me) was done soon - use good music on the BOSE to make it "fun":

Twisted as it started I join Rain with her theme...

Do - it´s really SO worth it (for our tastebuds at least).

...we fix peppers with cheese and bacon.

My stuffed pepper recipe is to stuff the peppers with ground meat, cooked rice, a bit of tomato sauce, seasoned with oregano and basil. Topped with mozzarella cheese. Baked until the cheese is melty and the rice/meat mixture hot.

Looks delicious Iris, never would have thought to microwave them-I usually stick them in a crock pot or the oven with a little sauce and cheese. we used to have a Bose system Happy Thursday

Tom, bacon sounds great, too!

____

CJ, this sounds a lot like what Ingo´s Mum did!
I only learned this through Ingo´s recipe and cannot imagine meat in them (I have rests with chicken atm, LOL).

____

Kathy, microwave is faster (at least faster as our slow oven!)
Yay to BOSE. I though, ack, expensive stuff and yes. But for a reason! My right ear hears normal with them! Hugs!

How did you get that cool pepper photo at the beginning of your blog? I love stuffed peppers, but the hubby very sadly won't eat them so they are not something I make very often. But if I get a good picking out of the garden, I might make them and freeze some, because they do freeze well. Yum...yum...yum. I may have to make myself one or two after reading this. Hugs-Erika

Reality is art in itself! And it looks delicious -- I love the photos, too. That opening photo was terrific. I only like peppers raw but will often stuff them with tuna or similar.

Erika, I simply took the second pic and cut out the ugly background :-)
You have some in your garden, oh, wow!
Your hubby looses out! ;-)
Hugs!

Jeanie, tuna in peppers? Hm. Though! Just yesterday I bought a ready-to-go-salad and both ingredients were in there, too and it was yummy!

Your peppers are pretty! I haven't made a stuffed pepper in decades. I should, yours look so tasty :)

That all sounds delicious. How long do you have them in the microwave?

Iris Flavia said...

Christine, so YES.

____

Divers and Sundry, do. So yummy, really.

____

RedPat, at 600W first 6 then some 6-9 minutes, no grill-function. Hmmmm...

This is how I make my stuffed peppers. Rice for the filler. Never any meat in mine. I never thought to cook mine in the microwave, though.

Deine gefüllten Paprika sehen lecker aus. Ich mache sie manchmal auch, allerdings völlig anders, aber das macht ja nichts. Mein Mann liebt sie, er mag sie mit Gehacktem.

I love stuffed pepper, but this recipe looks super delicious ... even more delicious than the recipe I have used (I think it is the cheese that sold me). Your have a Henri dish ... have we seen that before or did I miss it? You are a good cook, Iris :)
