Jan with her yummy fish and chips inspired me to use this sign.
Actually I´m not a fish lover, but we still have fish and also chips in the freezer and she got me with the vinegar!!!
We first learned about vinegar in this combo in Australia and, darn it, we haven´t had this for ages! I don´t have to think up what we´ll have on the weekend!
The sign is a game of words.
Fischverliebte is not a word, but...
Frischverliebte is one.
OK, actually it´s frisch Verliebte , which means "newly/fresh in love" or "new/fresh lovebugs" š
This is an ad for fairly caught fish / sustainability.
Well, I mean... food is important, right?
And maybe soon we can go out for dinner again, right, darn Corinna? Here shops slowly open up.
Some with appointment and time-/person-limit, some just with the very latter.
If that makes sense is another thing. People, if only 3 in a huge store might be interested in the same stuff and stand side by side, some are dumb and don´t get the principle of DISTANCE...
Either way...
This is for Tom´s signs 2.
And Henry š¦
Henry also says don´t loot, so people don´t have to pick up after you. This man in the orange vest surely wishes for a better job.
Empty cities, closed shops, hope this is a thing we only remember soon.

I am not a fish lover either! I eat fish when there is really no other option ... like Sunday on the beach! You gotta tell me what you mean by fish and chips with vinegar?
Yes, also here with the shops ... shopping by appointment .... okay, maybe I'm stupid! But wait! On March 17, there will be elections for the second chamber of the States General! I can't wait ... and hope that, you know ... some members ... shall I say ... The Dutch clown should be sent packing!! Yes! š¤”
In the meantime, has Henry become a banker? Oh Henry, I really love you! š¤
Cold, gray and only 3C here ... is that the Spring?
Ich hab dich liiiieb mein š xoxo
No other option š¤£
We have a small bowl with vinegar to dip the chips/fries in. You also can buy chips with vinegar here, as in potatoe-chips in a bag to nibble on in front of the telly, like these.
Subway may have them in small packages, too, YUM! Dangerously yum!
Oh, yes, elections, I can´t wait! I hope Merkel packs her things for good! Sad we have no real candidate to choose, yupp, all š¤”š¤”š¤”
Well, Henry has no real money, just like a bank š¤£
Same here, 3C, grey.
9 days to go till Spring, so be nice with March so far, it´s still š“
Ich hab dich liiiieb mein š¦ xoxo
I have not seen this Lay's Salt & Vinegar in the supermarket ...
I will look closely! (with the glasses on!) LOL xoxo
Do, it´s yum! More healthy maybe fries in plain vinegar? Ingo adds ketchup then, too. xoxo
I had my first fish and chips when we moved to Ireland 7 years ago--but no vinegar. Not a huge fan of white fish, but love salmon and mackerel, especially smoked.
Oddly enough, when I was cooking in the soup kitchen, I somehow got a reputation for making excellent fish chowder. I thought this was rather amusing, as I almost never cooked fish of any sort at the time, and never white fish. But one day there was a lot of it that needed to be used and I was asked to cook it, so I did--chowder with lots of veggies for 150. It was good to expand my horizons. Now I make fish chowder all the time, but with smoked mackerel.
Jaaa: Alles wird gut! Aber wann?
Shari, you cooked for 150 people?! My deepest respect! Chowder is a soup, right? Nothing for a beginner like me ;-)
Reckon Ingo sure´d love to be your guest, though!

Bertiebo.... bald, ganz bald, hoffe ich!
Fish and chips are about the only way I'll have seafood.
I get a kick out how German words form. They seem to get longer and longer. I had a little German in college, and I must say I don't remember much of it-sadly. I've just never used it so it goes. Love the word explanations today, although I must say I had to look closely to see the difference. Enjoy your fish. I am fish lover, but only when it is warm weather. Now that is strange.
Good to know that life is opening up gradually.
Great.
William, I´m looking forward to it!
____
Erika, not all words are longer... I can´t remember where but I once saw a list online where German was more or less the shortest in some things. Others, well.... Guess French is even "worse" ;-)
Fun you put fish and weather together!
____
magiceye, yes, we need to go forward!
____
Jim :-)
You WILL get back to normal. It may be a new normal, but at least more relaxed than the past years.
I love fish and chips with vinegar, but we already get the vinegar sprayed over the chips/fish when we buy it.
I like the sign "life is too short for bad food" - great one!
We are still having hot, but unfortunately very humid weather, high 30C during the day and above 20C at night.
...vinegar is very popular in Canada on chips, it add some tang. All is be good is a message of hope. Henry, keep spreading the sustainability message. Thanks Iris for coming to the party, take care.
Life is made every day, don't wait for Friday or the holiday to be happy. Every day of life is worth living well, because each day can be special.
All very good signs for Tom. I like fish and chips with or without vinegar, but usually with tartar sauce. Thanks for you comment on my shrimp recipe post.
I love fish almost any kind and cooked any which way. In fact now that I have read this post I am taking some fish out of the freezer for tomorrow. Here in my state of Oregon and especially in my town. No one followed the rules and the eateries have all been open. Before Covid I had a hard time eating out. Some people are so nasty and germy. Now, I will probably not ever eat out again. Hey it is just me. LOL
The play on words made me smile. Fresh fish and newly in love. I just adore puns. Vinegar with fries (chips) not common practice here in Massachusetts, but it is in Rhode Island, the state to the immediate South. I prefer ketchup/catsup on my fries. We're having fish for the Fridays in Lent, not for religious regions, but someone doesn't feel like cooking so a good way to get out of that chore. šŗ Henry is awesome and the man in the orange vest seems to be doing an awesome job. I've never seen sidewalks so clean!
Fish & chips with apple cider vinegar is the best! ;-)
I love fish and chips with vinegar every now and then.
I think Henry means don't litter so people don't have to pick up after you. Looting is robbing.
With all the vaccinations happening, normal may be back within a year or even sooner, hooray! I like vinegar on my chips, but prefer lemon juice squeezed on my fish.
We love fish, but not so much fried like it is in fish and chips. It really is only good to eat if you can buy it fresh. Preferably from nearby waters . Some kinds of frozen are ok, you have to be careful....... . I almost can’t remember what it is like to eat in a restaurant, which was something we used to love. Maybe (hopefully) again someday soon. Maybe. (I think I’m sort of starting to give up hope.).
Jeanie, YES! Yes, maybe a different normal....
____
Sami, ohhhh, to all! Sorry, but I love humid weather, too... it always feels like there´s a chance of rain ;-)
____
Tom, I always love your party and here we´re rather considered weirdos with the vinegar... I think my Brother would puke right away...
____
Maria, I´m SO with you!
____
gigi, well, how could I not,, it´s true :-)
____
Angel charls, thank you, you´re welcome.
____
Nicole, enjoy your fish - Jan did a good job, LOL!
WHAT?! Eateries have been open?! Not following rules? No security? Here not possible at all!
____
CJ, you don´t eat the fish raw, do you?! Sushi? Or do you give it to the cat, just kidding.
The clean sidewalks, well, yes, thanks to people like him... I could show other pics, sadly!
____
RedPat, apple cider vinegar? Hmmm, maybe we try that,, thank you, I´ll tell Ingo!
____
Bill, maybe we add that to our routine, it´s healthy, right...
____
Sallie, we don´t have the ocean nearby, very, very sadly. But the fish gets frozen on the ships here, so it´s very fresh, too.
Don´t give up hope, I firmly do think we will get back to some normal, we have to!
I love the play on words, Iris. I also love the idea that life is too short for bad food. My friend Sally loves vinegar on fish. I GAG. I can't use vinegar in anything. I like my fish plain with a lot of seasoning. Any fish will do, and my chips/fries don't need anything, either. No need to drown good food in something processed. Love the signs, though. And the man cleaning the street, too.
