Lucky, Smiling Faces

This lille house is another streetfind and the Leprechaun I put in front is a pressie from Bill

Bill, I found my pot of gold at ALSTOM - maybe the lille guy helped :-)

The sun was shining so bright, neither the Peanut, nor the Leprechaun threw a shadow, crazy, ist´n it? They really did blend in with the door.
You can see it as the entrance to luck!

I sketched this on the balcony, you see King Frog in the background - oh, I miss this summer! The cherries, fresh from the fridge...

I join Nicole´s FFO and  as the mini-Peanut seems to smile as well, I also join Annie´s Friday Smiles.

What a week! Tough at work, yet I managed to start training again, yipeee.
And not even sour muscles (OK, a bit, in my arms  as I  had one kg extra-weight per wrist put on).

To a great weekend - a long one here.

We Finally Have An Offspring!

For years now I´ve been searching for a very small pan.
For induction! Not a chance (for little money)!

Then I saw one! But... Baby had a difficult start, none of the four fields "she" would take (pans are female in German).

We have one  old fashioned field, that she took, but huh. Takes effort, time and energy.

BUT! I have an Ingo, remember? He found a way - of course!
Take a pot that takes induction, wait till it heats up the plate a bit and set Baby on it, and... ta-daaaaa!

It´s for nothing spectacular, just .... well this:

"There  is also a book about me and my friend Two-ear-Chicken!
Til (caution, sexy, funny, intelligent guy!) called me rabbit, though, here you can read about the movie.
Here is my book (I live for real in Braunschweig):"

Big or small or "no" ears, we are beings, right.
Addendum... Erika reminded me... I can join in at Art Journal Journey - so I did.

Don´t Worry...

Yes. Autumn is here.
Heating is on, I feel cold, but.. we have a roof above our heads.

Not everybody is that lucky.

So we can sing along to this and be grateful, even if barefoot-time is over now:

T STands For "Trash"

My entrance to Elizabeth´s T is another streetfind Ingo was sure I will not take home.

But. I certainly - after it sat 3 days and nights lonely outside... I did take it home. Gurri will love it! It´s the cuppa in the middle, of course.
I could not decide. At times it was cold, then the sun came out, still warm...
Both kind of teas, hence!

The journal:

Monday: 06:00 a.m. and... The Dead man is there! Correctly in German then translated to SIFA, but, really?! He´s haunting me!

07:00 a.m.  - grocery-shopping. 5 super-yummy sweets, 4 for the family, one for me. The cash out guy (EDEKA has the best meat, but no self check out) after wishing me a wonderful morning (brrr, it was cold!) grinned me in the face, scanning all the sweets.

Me: "They´re pressies for family" - more grinning, "that´s what they all say 🀣" - "Ok, one is for myself..." - touchΓ©! He really got me!

Later meeting with colleague A. We do swear a LOT! But we always also say, "can you please..." and "thank you" - I love this team (sorry if I repeat myself).
Later an error happened, I texted A, then found the bug myself, yet...
A set up a meeting for help for the next day.
All with also private chatting.

Needed eggs and got them after work when getting Ingo´s bread.
A man asked for "cheap masks".
And said he uses them as.... egg-warmers, LOL πŸ₯šπŸ₯šπŸ₯š

Next time I´ll look out for little bread-pieces with sea-salt, this time they had only big ones - looked yummy, lille chat with the baker-lady.
A Braunschweig person, she knew where "Affenfelsen" is and thinks it´s normal to walk 2 km one way to get bread there.

Tuesday: Ingo finally washed the socks his late Granma knitted for us.
If you don´t read along since like forever:
She knitted normal socks. Then, to welcome me to the family she knitted one pair for me, too, but, alas! Due to Christmas stores were closed and there was not enough wool.
Toes and heels were hence from different wool and suddenly everyone wanted creative socks like mine.
I found her on the floor one day (we lived with her) - nothing bad happened - she was just sorting wool, LOL!
By accident I gave her a new hobby. And whilst I hung the socks for drying she told me stories of back then.
I sure miss her.

When we had to move out we visited her every time I came to Ingo´s place (weekend-relationship).
She always ripped the door open and went, "my children!!!".
So many memories....

Wednesday: ... started well. The new project manager left me a teams-message.
With... my surname only.

Who does not want to start the day with "Hi Emperor"? 🀴

It was a bug and before I could get the cam it´d switched back to "Hi Iris".
Aw, well, was fun.

Great meeting with my hero-colleague, A. Now I have dark backgrounds, at work- and private PC, much better for the eyes!
And we got another problem solved, yipeee...
Later just tidying up - but I will go back to training!

And... Christmas-time already!

Somehow, after the meeting with the translation company - my teamleader had to quit this and told me to give "love greetings 😘", btw (I live in a men´s world!)!
But I managed - colleague W asked me to stay in the meeting and when the work-related stuff was done... we somehow ended up about how he looks sooooo forward to visiting ALL the Christmas Markets, and not only nearby!
The meeting I actually wanted to cancel took hence one hour!
I would love to skip the dark half of the year, but after listening to W I think it´s good we have the seasons.

How about you - Christmas Markets, yay or nay?

Thursday: InnoTrans 2022 in Berlin - see here, if you like.

Friday: Family, see here, if you wish.

Weekend: We were knackered.
Just got the must-haves (cheese etc) and otherwise just TV, cuddling up, re-energizing.
Never again will I go by car to Berlin. And also family was but stress. Friday on the highway, forget about that here...

So... food-wise... fast food.

People Are People

I have a sad story for you. Happened this Saturday...

This song never gets old!!! Please listen, if you like. Not hear, listen...

I was at dm
Check out (no self check out).
We were in a queue.

No one wearing a mask, which is cool cause much more power against Corinna is... distance, right?

I do know some of you think differently - please give me a chance and read till the end.
If you don´t have already you´ll end up having safety-glovies with you from now on....

This is the most powerful tool, distance and protection. And so simple!

So. A lady came up to the man in front of me and myself, asking if we wait in line.

Hello. Certainly we do!! He´d kept the proper distance to the person in front, as well, of course... (?).

And some still mistake this for "standing around somewhere", for crying out loud!

We have no markers on the floor no more, so many people forget.
Sometimes, when a store is full, I take a trolley/shopping cart, even if I need but one item, so I can make sure I have the proper distance from behind.
I stand in front of "mine" and keep the distance to the front, too.
Too many people are too dumb to get this.

Anyhows!!!

This man in front of me at dm... he has a heart failure. He can not wear a mask.
CAN NOT.

Once, he told me, a guy jammed his trolley into his back, insulting him for not wearing a mask.
Another time a man hit him on the back of his head!!! (DISTANCE, hello!)
He cried for help. The store-manager was on the hitter´s side.

Keep the distance!!!!!
A mask helps, too, yes, but DISTANCE is the key!

And yes, there are people who can not wear a mask!!!!

They cannot BREATHE under it!

Oh, I can´t wait till they put the burden on us again.
People with glasses (like myself) staggering around half blind in the over-heated stores again and people feel safe and come NEAR.

We will have to live with this version of the flu, COVID.
It is a nasty version, yes, and life may change. Or has changed.

But we always have to keep in mind what is important and what is not. And that some cannot wear a mask.

All the kids - do you really want to have them wear one?
From which age on?

Comes in to me like from which age on a muslim girl has to hide her hair, or more.

People are people, maybe a song that never gets old!

Henry 🦁

I always was for keeping the distance, all my life.
You never know what a stranger spreads.

Ingo once helped someone up on the Christmas market.
The ambulance guys told him off big and said, "touch no one, go wash your hands NOW! This man is sick and contagious, we know him already!"

I ever since have those thin glovies in my bag, cause.. if help is needed I am there, but I wanna be safe.

Yes, two posts today, as I join Sami, just scroll down, you will also find the Birthday-Boy there 🧑
And, please... play safe. But don´t hide your smile! If from afar...

Cold... Hot?

We´re back to hot tea, oh, it´s getting cold.
The Japanese restaurant  Hanayuki Sushi Restaurant keeps going, yay!

Yes, Henry. How about some hot tea, it´s in the making... And get some cake out:

On The Road Again

Let´s play table-soccer, eh, how about that?
Take the kids along, no prob...

We are at the ...

Oh, wait, Opti....

Are they diving for goods and staple them here?

Or... is it... what...

Or are we at Grandma´s?

 Yes, it´s...

It´s all about...

They have...

This is sadly not my Bro´s shop.
He still has his, but times are so bad he works here three times a week to make up for bad times...

Yet, such a cool store, huh?
He asked his boss if we can come in to get our eyes tested (for free) and whilst it was Ingo´s turn I took all these pics.

The room where you get tested... OK. But my Brother´s is way better.

But. Does that even matter? NO!!!
After testing we went to his home.
And I wondered... How? Does he have the machine in his private home now, to.. "evaluate" how the glasses fit best?

At first he brought in frames from his own shop.

He had - I hopefully assume by chance!!!!  - kid´s glasses, they even  fit.
Hearing aids, I get the kid´s size.
Hats .. you get the idea.

As said.. if there is a next life (for some I hope there is none) - I´ll come back tall.

Kid´s glasses!!!
And little Niece even said they look good on me.
For crying out loud!

My brain is normal. How does it fit in there?
Don´t hit me, there might be no "airbag"...

We choose frames and on we go.

This is why we came here for. A pro!!!

Here you see how a real master of optometrics works!!!

On the balcony of his very, very pretty new house!
No machine necessary - he has experience enough to work it out like this!!

He bends down for me and Ingo has to go down for him and...

Look me in the eye, mate!

Sadly time with kids was short.

Anyhows, more country pics to follow!

And glasses on the way soon!

Henry 🦁

Well, I could only snap the pic of Ingo looking into Bro´s right eye.
But Bro somewhere heard this:
Look into the left eye of a person. That´s the way to the heart.
