This Is My Lucky Day

OWCYBIOA?
Ok, I shouldn´t overdo it, but, my, Oh, Wow, Can You Believe It´s October Already???

And it started so wonderful, if I may use this word!

Ingo uses some cream for his hands that´s rather expensive, but works.
That it works well is proven by the fact that Volkswagen sells it way cheaper to it´s employees than when you buy it in the pharmacy.
Hence I try to get it there, too.

The junior-company sadly stopped selling altogether so I had some trouble to find out where to get it.
Finally I reached the right but only minimal helpful, rather unfriendly person who ordered ten cremes for me, “bad” news: I have to get into Volkswagen Werk, right in the middle.
They have huge parking-space problems there, same as we have here. But, well. The price-difference makes the effort worth it.

Just when I printed out where to park and where to go a Volkswagen colleague came in, said jokingly, who´s making that noise?
I told him what I planned and here my lucky day started:

Car??? Don´t take the car - there is a free bus to get inside!
He helped me finding out which one is the right one and after my colleagues joked I should take my cell so they can locate me in case I get lost – I really have no experience with bus & Co – I walked 4 minutes and waited for the bus.

(Later I learned colleague Z (!!!! - see here) - kinda pretended to go shopping just to see if I need help.
After having offered more than once to accompany me, him, being the king of busses. Life can be a dilemma, I tell ya!)

Just to make sure I asked the driver myself if this is the right bus and where I have to get off to get to hall 15b.
He was super-friendly, said he guesses he knows and off the two of us went.

Yep, I was the only passenger.

He drove me to hall 64 and pointed to a building, then said he´ll be back in 30 minutes.

The building wasn´t the right one, so I asked a worker who was passing by.
He said he´s got some minutes of his break left and led me to the right building just around the corner - how nice is that?!

There then I had to find out where to get the Stokolan. People carrying hot Currywurst or soup and I´m supposed to get Stokolan here?
I asked the cash-out girl and, yep, right place, there was a little box by her seat with 10*Stokolan.

But…. They don´t take cash.
And I only had 50 €-note; with me, way too much, to load on the VW-card! I never go to the canteen, or rather I never go to the canteen alone, if I go my friend pays for me – she is directly at VW – I would have to pay 50% plus, cause I´m a guest. A guest for 12 years, huh?
Anyhows, the cash out-girl couldn´t help me but suggested with an amused smile to ask one of the guys in a suit – they sure have enough money with them.

By now I felt a bit … stupid, but asked the first guy who said he´s sorry he has no cash with him.
Then he came back and said you can load money from your credit card eventually. Eventually cause I´m an external employee.

The guy was right!
And was so friendly to follow me to show me where I can load the card.
With his hot currywurst – hope it stayed warm long enough!
It worked, I loaded 25 bucks on the card.

Back to the friendly cash out girl.
Here my luck took a break – it wasn´t enough money. Ummm. Am I too dumb to calculate 2,20€ * 10?
Sadly that first, unfriendly woman who ordered the stuff for me didn´t see that I´m external and obviously at junior-company they didn´t know (or care), I always had payed VW-price, now, as it works the electronical way, I have to pay 50% addition. Over 30 bucks all in all – maybe we should see how much it is online.

But here goes, Stokolan:
Pic taken with my new cam I got for Perth - another story...

I remembered how to get through the halls to the bus station by myself (I would´ve walked like forever to get around those halls!) and after just a while “my” bus driver came by to bring me back!
He wished me a nice day and I did, too, and off I was.

Wow.
This could´ve been a total different and most unpleasant story if it wasn´t for my colleague popping in in just the right sec this morning!

Sadly you´re not allowed to take pics - oh, those masses of parked cars :-(
I had to park/work there for 3 years, I know how bad that is!

I´m really happy I met so many helpful, friendly people in my “adventure” :-)

The sun is shining and we´re off to the city!

Even though you had to pay more in the end it sounds like you had some super friendly help along the way Iris.

Yes, Grace, I really felt lucky. And thankful. And I guess I grinned stupidly the rest of the day :-)
