Love Or Kill?

Back at the exhibit...

Scary, huh, but then... maybe unnecessary .... or...not?

This is for...

The series:
"Life in the slums of New York in the early 1900s

At the turn of the century, approximately 2.3 million people (two-thirds of New York City's population) lived in the tenements. Many others also lived in shantytowns built around the tenements.

FFO, Smile And Celebrate Spring With Jamie!

FFO, Smiles, Cats And ... Ack

This is for Nicole´s FFO and Gilenna - I hope to get the rest of FAT CHUNK #9 done today and can take it easy for two days!
Should´ve done that in watercolors but am to knackered for that.
Funny, though... the "mouth"pops out 3-D-like, kinda, huh? Maybe I picked the right medium after all...

For Annie´s Smiles:

And some... mix....

Like getting thrown back to 2008, that´s how I feel.
Brother saw how sick Ingo was and never cared.
I told no one here cause I needed to stay strong, take care, talk to docs....
But my Brother could´ve called or pop by to support me.
Especially since I was there for him so often.
Well, same now.
And Ingo... yes, most study-stuff I´ll never need, but without this I will not get my job back.
At least a friend and two potential teamleads are there who support me mentally. Kinda...

'Nough of that - we want to smile.

I´m no mum but I´d get the hiccups from laughing, too!

Please, if you are in a similar situation like I am... read it correct...
Irony... my study atm is Typo!

I try....

 Lower East Side
Many of these apartment buildings were located on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
The picture shows Delancey Street."
Very bleak...

Henry 🦁  ´s Wife
Two more studies plus tests today and then I should´ve caught up.
The mentor didn´t answer, so maybe I missed three tests, but I have proof I contacted him
cause I didn´t find any questions!

I´m wishing you a happy Friday.

Shag Carpeting

With this stool I saved and that holds our landline-phone I join Rain´s Thursday Art and Dinner Date with Shag Carpeting - isn´t it plain wonderful?
No energy for sketching atm... also... I love this thing!!!!

For the dinner-part.... Ingo got Foccacia-bread

Or stink away with yummy Limburger Cheese!

The series:

"Life in the slums of New York in the early 1900s

 The definition
In 1867, the New York State Legislature defined a tenement house as 'any building ...
rented as a dwelling for more than three families, living independently of each other and
cooking their own meals on the premises.' "
Things improve....

R U Hungry?

This is La Maison Du Pain in Damm in Braunschweig.
Don´t you worry, it does not hurt, this "French love of life", "pain" is simply "bread".

Both sounds yummy, don´t you think? I never tried it (yet).
This is for Tom´s Signs2.

The series:

"Life in the slums of New York in the early 1900s

 Overcrowded

New York City's tenements were once occupied by single families, but high demand for housing led to their conversion into multi-family housing."

Horrible...

T This Crazy Week

With these (sugary teas I did not buy, but had a normal tea afterwards) I join Elizabeth´s T , my journal keeps me sane, so here goes:

Monday: Uploaded two tests after a day of studying.
Again .pdfs!!!! At least now I know how to do that, editing .pdf´s.

fK called and helped with two questions (out of 28) for the NEXT unit - she has kids who have to learn the stupid stuff as well - typo! In real life no time for that in TECHNICAL documentation!
I.Am.So.Tired.
In one chunk it said:

"blblabla

<br>
<br>

blablabla"

Even THAT is wrong in their code - correct is: <br />  ...
(This is HTML5 for "upheaval" or a break)
Asked if something important should be there - technical error.

Questions about things that were not in the units. In one I added: "I didn´t understand".

Tuesday: Study. Soooooo... ack. Physics. In typo, why, just why????
Passed my two tests!! Yippeeeee.... fK will tell fE, who wants me back - even if I fail with the certificate.
THUMP -  another rock fell off my heart. This is inofficial, of course and I WANT that stupid certificate.

Wednesday: Study, soooo.... fK called, she´s without heating.
I say "gack". Her: "???" The wall fell 1989 and still.... "us Wessies" say "gack" when politely meaning "shit". She had no clue.
How long will it take till we are one Germany again?
Her wife is a "Zoni", too, so their kids learn their quotes.
And no. "Ossies" to me are people from Ostfriesland, whereas GDR was "the zone".

ThursdayLet´s do the time-warp again!!!
Ingo really managed to get internet back.
Knackered asks: "Do you want a slice of bread with wurst, too?"

1977, children´s home (if you like see this post).  I was back again today in the row for the skinny ones. Here  it was wurst, but mostly butter - just my fatty-fellow was not there, no one to trade with.

Really, I still know how that room where we ate looked like. The amount of butter!!!!
My mouth was all "chewy"! That my fatty-dude liked that back then! If we had I´d take a schnapps to wash it away.
Beer does NOT help. I´m all buttery in my mouth.

Friday: Gasping for breath. The book "Easy Air Fryer: Big & Bold Delicious" by Jamie Oliver I ordered AGES ago... was supposed to arrive yesterday. "Delayed to August 18th to December 1st." Like an Advent calendar, only with longer intervals... This came at my active request. Buy.At.Local.Bookstore!!!! Lesson learned!
Ingo saved my "TV"#1.

Weekend: Saturday: Ingo saved my "TV"#2. Well, a restart helped. But he was willing to!!!!
Lost Places: The Cold War in the 1980´s. Am I glad I was too young to understand, to get scared!

20 years women protested! 20 years!!!

And now???? If a certain man in Russia pulls the trigger...

Books arrived!!!!  Did you know:
The word "nerd", invented in 1951, in the 1960´s was turned to "knurd" by some students, read backwards... well, that´s... "drunk"! The opposite of party animals, knurd!
Now we also have "The Geek Shall inherit the Earth".
The German version simply skips this. Incompetence!!!
And that, my friends, is why I buy DVDs to watch movies in the original!
Germany tries to keep us dumb. Incompetent!

Sunday:Löwenzahn was on how we "speak" when we speak different languages and Die Maus was about glasses.

Munchy:

New series:
"Life in the slums of New York in the early 1900s

 Mass Immigration
Thousands of people emigrated to the United States in the 19th century.
In New York City alone, the population doubled approximately every 20 years for most of the 1800s."
Henry 🦁

It´s an up and down. But, as fK says, "Easy, that, anyone
can do ....".

Many of them (migrants) lived in small, cramped, substandard tenements, known as tenements.
