Not To Be Forgotten & Six-Thirty

I  sure do not want to ruin a happy Sunday, but I was ... sad to learn that this war now is another normal to most of you.
Like so many.
Here it is in the "news", in docus every day.

Maybe cause I know one (!) Ukrainian personally this goes to my heart, or maybe cause they are so near.

See...

This is a piece of the Berlin wall, from "our" side, the West...

I grew up in the crazyness. It was my normal.
Mostly. Until I "met" a couple in GDR via a helium-balloon with my address attached to it, as many schools did - we are one people after all, we learned as kids, too, and I grew up pretty close to the "frontier" to East Germany.

All pics from yesterday, this is "Platz der Deutschen Einheit".

Why is there war?
Look, this we see in our news.. "news"...

"The Russians" have no influence on what is happening. But look:

The dentist said... "we might or will survive, but mentally we will be broken".

You worked hard your whole life and then this:

And here I sit. At my private PC, two monitors, just made some yummy food.
Seven steps to my back four monitors to work with.

Drinking water? Just go to the kitchen and open the tap!

Germany just helps bit by bit cause that new Chancellor is a whimp.
Makes one sick. Promises  given, not brought.

I have no words other than I admire how strong the Ukrainian people fight and fight the madness.
We need to clean up, get rid of Put#n - and I DO swear .. 100%! this comes chronologically.

What will be left when "the Russians" leave?
They WILL leave, I am positive there is no "back to the USSR"!
We need to be free.

How did you see all this coming? I really would like to know,
Big Russia eating up just another country?

If some Russian person reads along... I do know it´s but Put#n!!
Russian people are nice guys, Ingo works with "them", I met "some", too.
I am "German" - every country has a dark side in history.

And here goes (shortcuts to the essential):

Book here.

Let the stupid end, please.

No fences - they are just the beginning (#BerlinWall)

Addendum: "Funny" how the top of the Berlin wall blends in with the building behind it.
It gets kinda "scary"...

Cats, Statistics, Six-Thirty And Rumpelstiltskin

As mentioned instead of smoking I read a bit when I need a break.
Hence more than one book is "flying" around here, like this one.
Because... we´re The Simpsons-fans for sure and no, it´s not for kids!
As chemistry mathematics can be fun, also, here goes - it is funny, I promise!:

Grab one or more and read on, if you like 🍩🍩🍩 - I´ll come to a cat 😺😻 and it´s not Henry. Here goes (it´s on railway, what else?!)
As Ingo bought the book here it´s German (apart from the quote), so I have to translate and please, no biologist is to feel... a target, OK? I only translate!:

On the way to a conference in a train three statics guys meet three from biology.

The biologists complain about the high price for the tickets, the static guys have a trick – when they hear the train conductor they all squeeze into the toilet.

The conductor shouts, “ticket, please!” and they push the one underneath the door, which the conductor labels and gives back.

On the journey  back the biologists show the statics guys proudly they also only bought but one ticket.

The statics guys say they don´t have a ticket at all.

Before they can ask back they hear the conductor is on the way, the three biologists hide in the toilet.

One static guy follows them, knocks and shouts, “ticket, please!”, takes it, runs with his colleagues to the other toilet and they patiently and with an unmarked ticket wait for the real conductor.

Moral: Don´t use a method you don´t fully understand.

By anonymous

From “Lisa, queen of statics”/”The Lisa Series”.

Hahaha, Schrödinger´s Cat is right here, playing with, well...

From being or not being, let´s go to another controversial subject, let´s turn to Wakely, a minister, who has his "fight" with faith cause science is also his best friend, here he´s in conversation with Calvin, Mad´s to be, later sadly dead Father

More to come, it´s all about tolerance, right? And faith (and a bit scary how the bits I took chronologically fit to the posts - I do not plan this!!!).

And here goes the road so far (shortcuts to the essential):

FFO - Aloha and Six-Thirty

Yipeeee. King Frog and I are HAPPY! Summer is the best part of the year here.

And I´m so glad we live the "new normal" aka working from home.
Started at 06:00 am and a colleague put me in a meeting 3-3:30 p.m.

I´m not allowed to make +hours, but, no worries, Xtra-long lunch break at my private PC!
Yes, in "former life" I could´ve taken a book for a longer break, but what would that cause?
Customer sees me reading a book - the "lazy external again!"

I know what I´m talking about, too.
2001, navis expensive, internet, too, my Bro wanted to visit me.
I printed and faxed (!) one (!!!!) document with the route to him.

Female customer saw this little scene, went to my teamleader and informed him I´m sending out "party-invitations to friends from the customer´s account!!!"
Lucky me´d asked teamleader beforehand and the boomerang came back to her - she didn´t look me in the face for days.

How mean can some women be?
We have a word for that, "Zickenkrieg"

This woman is super-nice and happy and says hi to especially Tom:

This is for Nicole´s FFO.

And some more wisdom, if you like?

It´s a bit scary how this fits in!!!
I made screenshots of my kindle when reading, this is chronologically!
And here goes (shortcuts to the essential):

Book here.

Henry 🦁

Addendum: And for the Friday´s smiles:

Ingo has a day off > service "in the office"!
ALOHA!

Too Old? And Six-Thirty

... now what? Throw into the green bin?
Not me.

Post war-generation does not throw away food, right.
Plus... these look as sad!

... hence I added...

I think the wine did the yummy trick and no, I used no recipe.
... and lazy as I am...

Pastry-, pizza-dough, does it even matter? Next time I´ll try yet another, this stuff Jamie often uses, filo, which they did not have.
Feels like we live in GDR - you can buy what they have... not what you want.
Anyhows, sssst:

And I know what´s in the sauce.
An honest work.
Honest, btw... this could be me :

Her prompt was also:
"The First Thing You See Today".

Well. Bathroom, brush your teeth, right? Wash your face, take the tissue from the "old man´s nose"... I think he´s from the Easter Islands, maybe just a copy...

Ingo and I share, but each has a (toothbrush-) head on his own.
Later I defrosted food I´d cooked too long ago.

Looked soooo yummy, formerly fresh mushrooms, cauliflower, lean meat, frozen into a form you could think it´s a calzone.
But....
When you cook from scratch, fresh, without chemics... it goes bad, it seems.
Tasted strange, smelled strange, I had a slice of bread with cheese instead.
Alas, lesson learned!

Henry 🦁

Always play honest!

The World´s Best... & Six-Thirty

Sign found in Subi - we were pretty surprised to  find the slogan in German there!

And since Auntie knows best...
Did you know "Miele's first products were a cream separator, butter churn, and tub washing machine..." (Wiki)

Bär, don´t look at me, look into the cam! And yes, this is our Miele.
The Mielebär was white once, but he traveled with us - very sadly we left him in our cabin in Madely when we unexpectedly found this home away from home from him. Bet the guys there would´ve loved him - as did this lady in Perth CBD!

"Bet you won´t ever give him back - otherwise: Money back!"

This is for Tom´s Signs2.

How about a sign of wisdom?

Henry 🦁

Let´s make it clean!

Addendum! River gave me a second thought... we have more of the family!

Especially in winter the microwave heats my warmy-animals for the nights!
And yes... the plastic was white originally... 35 years of age show off now!

1960+ Is 2020+

In case you wonder why I ponder so much on this book with the dog named Six-Thirty....

In the 1950´s women had to fight to find a role in the world. In the men´s world, in science.
To be more than "but a housewife" - and they fought successfully.

We live on this now, thankfully!

I see many a man taking the baby outside by himself.

Ingo, his, my brother, they all do housework, cook and all.

I am accepted as a member in a men´s world, no worries! My opinion counts.
This was a fact all my working life, my real working life.

I was a graduated engineer, working as trainee to have a job at all and was treated like sh#t, being the only woman.
I know both sides.

2022. America having issues with abortion.
Women are declined their rights over their bodies.
Baby to be will be handicapped? You get it anyways! No one thinks about the harm this will do to the mother/parents/"child" in their life or when the first die.

I have a half-cousin who is mentally very handicapped. What happens when her parents pass?

You got raped and have to have the child of a "monster" - how are you supposed to love it?

We in Germany get the Muslim world so much in, it´s crazy.
I get called "whore" (in their language, thanks to Deepl I know anyways) for wearing German/European summer clothes in German summer in Germany.
They get wash-houses that cost a fortune and they don´t use them - just to make a point to show how mighty they are.

I was in Egypt in the 80´s.
It was still more or less a free country, but visiting a mosque I wore proper clothes and took my shoes off - not a question.

I expect the same here.
Women covered totally, you only see the eyes - they freak not only kids out.

And no!!!
No "husband" around.
Think they do it for provocation.
"You work for me, sl#t, you!", they seem to scream in your face.
Learning German? What for? They get people from the German state to translate.
To tell them how to get money.

It is as frustrating as America´s problem with abortion.
Or weapons, for that matter.

We all go back to the Middle Ages it seems!

This novel shows in a funny, ironic way how to fight for the good, for progress.

What do YOU think about all of this?

I sometime heard you have 6 months to learn the English language when you come to America. Find a job, some job. Or... go home.
Is that true?

Anyways.

The book is "but" a novel, but it could and I bet somehow is true.
It´s one for men and women to read cause it´s full of fun, irony and truth.

And you learn cooking facts from the chemical point of view.
Pass the sodium chloride, please.

So far:

Henry 🦁

To equality and science, to fun and irony, to love and a good life, to friendship, THIS is what the book is all about.
I´ll "feed" you more, join, if you like.
Other go here: Lessons in Chemistry and enjoy!

Either way you came here I also certainly joined Elizabeth with T-Day
(Just scroll down)

T STands For The HappiesT Summer Days (And Six-Thirty)

It´s summer, yipeeeeeee... so, come lunch... a Radler it is!
That is a bit beer with loads of lemonade, so refreshing!
My entry to Elizabeth´s T!

And a thank you to blogger right at the start:
Comments disappear into nowhere.
I complain at others, others complain here.
Have in mind it´s a free tool and save the text you take the time to write for a while, I now do.
Why make a working tool go wrong?
The German "fantasy"-word is verschlimmbessern. Trying to make something better by making it worse.

 Anyhows...
The journal again - it´s still fun to make, won´t someone like to join me?

Monday: Sunday I made tomato-/pizza sauce, hence Monday needed to buy stuff to make a pizza (oh, the logic in life, huh).
Was early, tried to take a shortcut and... ran into FUN candy!
Not into sweets, but love licorice  and tend to fall for creative fun stuff!

Tuesday: Work, book, Pizza and WhatsApp with Bro.
He sent me a happy pic of the Nieces standing on our parent´s grave after delivering flowers to remember our Dad leaving us 20 years ago.
To them "Opi" is up there and who knows what Bro told them but to them death is a part of living and no reason to cry (yet).
Good job, Bro!

Wednesday: Booooy. We needed patience at work, it all took like forever, the network was more than slow.
N called it "the circle of death", LOL
So glad we can take most with humor!

41C/106F - happy dance!!! Blueberries and cherries from the fridge to snack to a great book - what more do you need to call it summer?

Book, btw... care for a bit of Six-Thirty´s adventures?
And care why I am so enthusiastic about it...
Cause...

... see pretty please here, it is important... and here is another "bite":

The road so far (no worries, it´s but snippets, deep-links to the kindle-pic):

Thursday: One of the most exhausting days at work at ALSTOM (so far).
Again I had to share (I think I even offered!!! ?!!) - we had network problems again, so I suggested I download to "my" PC, local.
Didn´t help. Called help (I have a people-network by now, yippee - the shy me!!!).
AB was willing to step in, suggested after a while I delete, I asked back three times, yes, do. It´s local.
Nahhhhh. ONEDRIVE!!!
The MASTER-document was gone, I nearly got a heart attack!!!
Salzgitter, Barcelona.... no one can work, ahhhhh, and MY name is on it!!!

Luckily we are early birds and got it back before the 9-5-peeps started.
It went all on badly all day long. 3 people trying unsuccessfully to clean up a mess.

But there was jokes and laughter anyways.

Pizza, salad, book on balcony. Temps down to 27C/80F - a huge drop, I put on a sweater.

Friday: "And today it´s clear, partly cloudy", the shark explains.
"clear" in German is "heiter" and a shark is a "Hai" so they made it "haiter"... yes, I fall for such stuff.
Teamleader M and I spontanously put the cam on.
Hi, nice to meet you.

Weekend: For a change we odered food.
Was OK.
Die Maus visited Perth.

Sketch-wise...

The house really looks so broken, never did a bird move in there, either.
But, well, our balcony is like that.

Henry 🦁

... and rain is to come, eventually, yipeeee!
