Oh, help - they are back!

It started slowly, you can say innocent, barely noticeable...
Maybe they invade only in my gym - I hope so, so far this happened only there.

Some time ago I saw a man in the gym. Hm dunno, I guess a bit younger than me. He had black hair and I stared in disbelief - he wore the same styling/haircut Limahl did (that guy is still in business, see here - and he wears still that haircut - sized to the current time).

Then it was quiet for a while.

Until last week. A guy much younger than me, mid 20s maybe. He wore all black, so his hairstyle came out with no doubt - Billy Idol (he is also still around)! The lightest blond and exact that styling. a wee bit shorter.

Inbetween I saw some guys with sweat- or wristbands...

And today.... a guy, maybe 17... OMG, I thought, oh, no... please...
Today I had to face this:

It was white and a bit smaller, his hair was dark brown and pretty much like in this pic!

I mean, yeah, when the 70´s came back - and they are still around - that was great, cool, groovy!

But the 80´s were bad the first time, so who wants to have that yet again???

Oh, please no! And they are all so young they weren´t even around back than.

Maybe my parents thought, oh no, not the 70´s again, but I can stand against that, saying I have the sweetest memories of a colorful, happy, free childhood.
What can you say about the 80´s? Embarrassing they were, I think - clothes- as music-wise ("Cherry, cherry lady", do I have to say more?). And that kiddo can´t even tell for real, so why???

From my point of view sweatbands are just yucky - and besides he did weight training, not cardio.
(I also wonder why some guys wear gloves? My friend says they have sweaty hands and can´t hold the weights without. But so many guys with sweaty hands??? And besides, that´s nothing to be proud of, is it? That´s like wearing a big sign saying - don´t come near, I´m sweaty! Eeeek.)

Boy, I guess in the future I´m forced to take my glasses off before entering the room...

Sorry, I´m still in shock and fear. Will this go on and on? Will they stay in the gym? Are they in other gyms as well, I can cancel in a months time...

To top all that I thought we have skipped the months March to September - the storm nearly knocked me off my push-bike. No, really. I had to stop once. And it was hard work.
Boy. Weekend!!!

Oh. Nearly forgot to mention: The sweatband on that kid says "nimms easy". "Nimms" is german for "take". Not "nimms leicht", not "take it easy", but this. As I said, the 80´s were embarrassing!

Tiny Tots Science Corner

I just learned of a new organisation, the Tiny Tots Science Corner. They help children in daycare to experience nature and technology in a fun way - a great idea, I think.

You wonder why I am interested in this? In the national competition the price went to my town (german) :-)

The 3-6 yo´s built a lava-bottle with water, oil and sand. They were to experiment with the different consistencies of the ingredients. Next topic will be "air", sounds exciting.
70 kindys in town join the project, 2000 all in all in Germany, isn´t that great?

What (some) humans do

They care for others, like this cutie:

Flocke, I call her again the next figure for climate protection after Knut, is just tired after a fun day with new toys.

The news today revealed a double-murder in the Nuernberg zoo yet again - this time presumably from a human hand. Two very seldom red Panda bears (german) got slaughtered.

Why?

I hope they find the guilty party - maybe it was another animal, they are not sure about it yet... The bears showed no sign at all! of defense...

Floating

Life is just floating by at the moment. The days are grey and cold. I try to cheer me up with some hearts:

And I need some cheering up, because there are some things that make me very sad, mad, angry.
Ingo´s job is to repair stuff. His boss made him carry heavy things like washing machines and alike. Despite the fact that his back hurt a lot from that.
Great, the back is done now. A medical corset and special shoes are hip for him now. The doc talked of a herniated vertebral disk even.
His boss, who was his friend and who didn´t mind borrowing 5 000 euro - twice - and interest-free from him, throws him out now that he can´t carry heavy stuff anymore. You wonder what loyalty means? Friendship?
I tell you what. His wifes' brother stole more than once money there - he keeps his job. He is family...

What´s more? There must have been some intruder in here.

How else can it be that my late birthday present from a friend who wasn´t in the new apartment before fits perfectly?

These glasses have the exact same color as the new lamp has... :-)

Ok, she knew of the red kitchen wall.

The book she added is great as well. Have a yes-no-question? Open the book randomly and get the answer. Might be "You are too old for this", or "Go to bed. Let in fresh air from time to time". Life is gonna be so much easier now! :-)

Bad thing I don´t know where I put the tea-filter. I got some yummy one also, hmmm...

The TV is blurring behind me. What would happen if Germany got over 40 °C for a longer time? Health care would be overstressed, older people get in bad trouble, the farming industry would collapse along with other energy-sources due to the lack of water.
Well... this isn´t too far away, I´m afraid. I remember two years ago many elderly people suffered badly, often to death due to the heat.

Gotta go and ask the new book if that will happen again or not...

Oh. Certainly: Thanks for the guesses on this blog´s title. I felt encouraged enough to really use the pizza-title...

One Ten without ham

Now that we finally live together, the blog-title "Double half" doesn´t fit anymore or does it?

So I ask:

What characterizes me? What title would be appropriate?

Oh, sure, some words to the suggested title...
There is one place in the world (and it´s a rather small place, it´s my hometown, Da Nico) where I can call, not even mention my name, say „One Ten without ham, please“ - „Ten Minutes!“, and then... then I get the yummiest Pizza in the whole wide world!
And I tried many...

 >>> Nico retired and went back to Italy....

But "One Ten without ham" would be a rather stupid title, wouldn´t it?

So what characterizes me, I dunno.

- I love the sun but am allergic to it

- I can drive but not park the car >>> I learned but gave my company car away in 2018

- Haha... I love to go shopping but don´t have much money >>> I´m OK, money-wise...

- I like to eat but hate to cook (ok I do the washing up – not that I like that either, though) >>>  I LOVE to cook! Learned it thanks to Jamie Oliver.

- I love to visit far away places – but hate the long, uncomfy journeys (yes, compared to earlier days we have a big achievement here. Take the german train means very often to sit on the hard floor for hours... then in hard chairs at the airport, you know what I mean)

- I love warm places but eeeek... all the insects crawling, flying....

Well ... I want the whole thing but it´s only one half that totally suits me. Is that kinda double half after all? Maybe I just keep that name.

Because... One Ten without ham....nah. Not really!

Oh, and. I always eat only one half at a time of it.
My pleasure to not get stomach ache and have it twice even though not living there anymore.
Double half after all?

Any guesses?

Great. Now after I freed the Pizza I had on September 12, 2006
from the oily carton via Photoshop, I´m hungry for that Pizza and only that number 10 without ham from Pizzeria Da Nico in Seesen.

Our jungle

We did some modeling this weekend - on our apartment :-)

Here are the results:

The cow comes with a horse, too:

Am I happy the mirror doesn´t say "I 'love' yo" - I was fast enough when Ingo asked me, if those were gums! ;-)

The bedroom got some deco as well:

The weights at our "closet-door" are from a street nearby and used to keep the bbq from getting blown away. This balcony is sheltered and the stones got their new job. Now they got an eyecatcher (you can click to enlarge):

And yes, I´m even used to Jolly Roger by now....

The kitchen got one sunflower, too - and some three-dimensional red chili :-)

I like it, especially the bathroom!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh....

Flocke

Three toasters

Our apartment gets nicer and nicer... :-)

We bought a chalkboard that hangs in the kitchen now - Ingo wrote in his unique way on the bottom what he feels for me (and on top that he needs an adapter):

The sticker to the left says "the first love you get in a toy-store - but blood...not - donate blood" - I just love that teddy-bear! (And we do donate - I also received some a long time ago)

We also have Braunschweig-coffe now, from fair trade - see the lion?

Aaaaand... I saw that toaster - and although we have already two, I just so fell in love, I had to buy it:

Isn´t it too cute? It says "toast control" - and hence we had Toast Hawaii tonight:

The breakfast-tray shows my - our! - town, btw - and yips, the christmas- moose is gonna sit there all year round :-)

We went to some furniture-stores today and amongst other things I saw... this - soooo comfy and     -     so     -    darn     -   cool:

It seems to be the last piece and it´s damaged - they want some 1200 euro.
I dunno?
It´s a lot of money. On the other hand I never go to the cinema. No disco or pub... We haven´t been on a holiday overseas last year (and don´t plan it this year so far).
Ingo says no. What do you think?

Old carrots?!

Today we have massive server problems here at work. My colleague just came over telling us it´ll take a bit longer, "those are old carrots", he said. What did I have in my hand? "Nono, not yours!"

My carrots look special today, I got another great lunch:

Can´t wait for the days getting long again - I hate taking pics with flash!

Sooooo YUM

With the "new" kitchen there is more space and hence preparing food is more fun.

Friday Ingo made the very best Roesti (I cannot turn them upside down in the pan...)
(and yips, that is a mirror hanging on the wall... I didn´t know where else to put it... This way you can see if you smeared food all over youself whilst cooking!):

Sadly I fried the eggs too long - but Ingo taught me a better method. Hence no egg here but ohhh, doesn´t it look delicious?:

Saturday we made filled capsicum/paprika, oh, my, they were yummy, too and lasted for two days:

We filled them with a mixture of rice, fresh mushrooms, onion, capsicum and cheeeese:

Sadly I´m not allowed to take pics here at work (lunch-break right now), so I could take a pic only yesterday evening from the lunch-box Ingo made ready for me:

- The football is (was) filled with macadamia and other nuts and raisins (brain-food).
- the little apple was cool and yummy
In the box was:
- a cereal-cranberry-bar
- a fruit-mix-drink
- olives in a film container, together with a wooden stick with an aussie-flag to pick 'em up
- half a get one-gherkin (german) (Ha-ha, half a "get one"...)
- all different sorts of spread on the bread - cheese, turkey breast, liverwurst, even a sausage, cut in rolls

YUM! A big thank you to:

Hehe :-), that pic was taken way back in 1989 or 90 - am I glad style changed!
