Am I Fit?

Ingo bought this little cheapy, sadly once you stop for a while it turns off, so actually I did some more steps.
Is that much, I have no idea.

Went to the White Horse shopping centre and got these three for one euro each:

And went through them one after the other straight without a pause.
Guess that means I have my old fitness back?

Sadly it doesn´t show off (yet), guess that comes with getting old?

They won´t be my favorites but a welcome change from the one I usually work out with.

JUMP - Let´s Go To The Zoo

Bro called me several times yesterday, the stupid phone lay in the living room so I couldn´t hear it and he nearly gave up.
The last time I heard it and they were already in Zoo Braunschweig, so I had to drive myself to join them.
The full pics again for friends here.

Niece was keen to enter the trampoline - awww, those leggings, too cute, no?

The clever girl hopped onto the old carousel and hoped some Daddy would pay - and she succeeded three times!

Here we wait for the fries to be ready and Little Niece really enjoys the visit, awww she really looks a lot like her Sis!

And they´re so much alike, I could call them both Homer (Simpson) - come being concentrated, tongue is out :-)

Next station was the petting zoo and I certainly had to join Niece, who boldly went in and then. Uh! Remembered last time in such a place she nearly got bitten!

But here the animals were calm, probably not hungry anymore - it was such a nice summer-day! Really warm, if not hot at times, yay! The zoo was just packed! And I got explained, you only feel the lips, they do not bite!

Still I let Niece do the job.

When we came to the mighty tiger Niece wanted to be high up:

It´s kinda sad... they have two tigers, and mighty ones, too!

But no lions.
Yes it´s a small zoo, but in The City Of Henry The Lion... only made of stone.

And Niece - being a Lion herself by zodiac sign - fell in love with this one - and yikes, blurry - and only - pic!

She invented rules - he´d bite me, but not her. And she offered me food for him, so he´d be my friend, too.
When Mum asked what his name is she shortly thought about it and then answered he is still thinking about it himself.
Clever girl, no? (Proud Auntie, I know)

Niece wore Aussie-Auntie-H´s T-Shirt for the occasion:

This lady showed one nipple, Niece laughed her head off!

Woah, and then we came to the other playground with the huge tower, bridge and slide and Niece had so much fun, was without fear!

At first she was a bank robber!

Then she went all the way up and out onto the bridge - in 5-6 meters hight! Fearless!

And down the slide!

Next time Niece found the little shop and Bro and I had to go grocery shopping.

Bro ordered a bread and Niece asked, cut?
I really had to re-learn how to play, but again I obviously did it right - so well done, this playground!
There was also a bathroom, a sickroom and who knows what else, really the zoo put a lot of love into the playgrounds!

Onto the giraffe Niece went next:

And finally we could persuade her to get an ice-cream - she´d said no three times!

We found a very cool camel insde the shop:

Just look at the feet :-)

Also the rubbish bin, too cute, no?

Niece and I got the same ice-cream and started with the same part, accidentially, which made her really "proud" - we like the same stuff! Cute :-)
We sat there like forever, whilst Niece went to the tower over and over again - I was impressed, she came back, as told, each time and asked if she may go once more!

Meanwhile we played with Little Niece, a happy cutie most of the time, too :-)

She "commented" a lot already and gave me huge smiles.

This sure was a very nice Sunday arvo.
We were the last to leave the little zoo - even the souvenier-shop was closed, sorry, Niece, you have to come back! ;-)

They Live Outside

Ok, "live" might be the wrong expression ;-)

But I like those old, decorated houses, this one was right at Amalienplatz.

The house was built in 1902 and has also some beautiful ladies to show:

A bit further on in Hutten Street you find this sunflower-lady:

Still Hutten Street - they look like nuns, kinda, no?

These ladies look happier, I think :-)

The house we live in is also grey.
Plain grey.
Bu-huu.
At least we got some color inside :-)

Rain, Sweet Rain

This is the motto for the weekend.
I love the sound of rain and at least it´s warm enough to leave the balcony-door open and listen to it and enjoy.

Cause... what else do you want to listen to.
The news is no option, I´m way too sick of that.

Amalienpark:

Poppies!

There were some bees but I failed to catch a shot with them - they were so large, the flowers always bent down and gone they were...

And river Oker - certainly there was no rain - I had my transparent blue brolly with me!

Friend Or Parasite

I reckon it´s the latter, right? Still they look kinda beautiful together, the ivy and the tree.

Yesterday I was hurrying to our little post-office, right after work, to send a letter - it´s tax-time, right? Gaaah.

At least it was partly sunny and over 20C - wo-hoot!

Door with a nice deco on the way:

We live in a rather "good quarter", the more I was puzzled by the couple passing by the rather expensive houses on the way to our "Kalle", as Carl Friedrich Gauss' memorial is fondly called here: The woman in a wheelchair, the man pushing, both smoking. Umm, yes, I have a clue on the wheelie ...

When I came to the post-office it was dark. Shoot, I thought!

I work from 05:45 - 01:45, add 45 minutes drive home, 10 minutes walk, I thought he might still be on lunch-break.

I read that book on being more optimistic, right?
I would´ve been "angry on myself for calculating wrong and now having to wait", but now I had a closer look - open, the dude just works in the dark :-)

On the way back I could take a pic from the shadow to catch these lovely poppies:

Not much progress with the Gallipoli ones - guess I was a tad too late planting - or/and this "summer" is too cold for the Aussie ones...

Back home I found no update on FB on my Aussie Sis H, who had the op the day before, and worried.
Opened E-mail to find a personal message from her Hubs. Well, we are optimistic and keep fingers and toes crossed.
Optimistic, right?

The weather was... well, ok, not good enough to skip training, so Ingo went to the city by himself to get some stuff done and came home with surprises.
And he is a genius, finding solutions for pressies for others :-)

My Voltaire-book gets filled, that sure makes me happy and thankful :-)
That book sure is no parasite!

Not Sweet, Not Vegemite

So "sad" I don´t like sweets or sweet ice cream, I´d totally bought this ice-cream-"truck" otherwise, certainly in pink for my Niece(s).

It contains 12 sundaes, 12 spoons and is just supercute, no?
Also available in blue.
Oh, shoot, maybe I make it a Birthday-pressie? So the whole family but me can enjoy.

Reminds me of 2006, Perth was booked, I read the news in my lunch break.
I can´t find the original article anymore but vegemite icecream won a price that year.

My then teamleader - also a T, also from former GDR (weird, huh? My first teamleaders' name was B, though, from West-Germany, but TI, II, III are all from former GDR).
Anyhows TI looked over my shoulder and said, what is vegemite?

He was interested! I said, I can bring some with me, but, nooo. Interested means: NOW, so he ordered via amazon.

I brought toast. Toasted, untoasted, I brought butter and margarine.

No one wanted to join us after TI opened the jar!

TI and I tried every combination and concluded... the vegemite probably has gone bad, was stored wrong or something.

In Perth I got a new jar from Wollies.

And 25 portions from Maccas on Christmas...

No. The first jar was ok, we found out. Vegemite is just not made for German tastebuds ;-)

This is what Ingo made out of the first 12 Maccas-portions, this mobile has moved 3 times already!

Lost quite some color, huh?
What do you think, should Ingo make a new one of the other twelve?

Yes. They are nine years old! Kept in the Macca´s bag, look brand-new!

I still have not tried these... should I? With cheese - has anyone tried it yet?

I´ll buy the pink ice-cream-truck, if still available, blogging clears my thoughts at times :-)

We Got Another Tattoo

Another wall-tattoo, the Braunschweig emblem :-)

I actually don´t like fiction books other than science fiction - and crime thrillers taking place in Braunschweig. In the last one I learned that Henry The Lion was the founder of the Bavarian city München - and that is true, 14. Juni 1158 it was!

Why another tattoo? Well, we over the time got some in our condo like Mark Twain´s "Give every day the chance to become the most beautiful day of your life.", right opposite the new one:

And in the hall... guess? Yep, Braunschweig :-)

I admit, these...

... coat some bad spots in the wallpaper. Yes, we are lazy guys!

These...

Well, no, this is not a kid´s room, it´s actually our bedroom - a tad embarassing, huh?
But at least Ingo´s Dad the other day forgot upon this to ask yet again where "the other one" sleeps, stating our (very normal 1,40 m wide) bed is too small for two ;-)

Huh, by golly. He called Ingo Martin (Ingo´s Bro) and me Kerstin, Ingo´s ex.
Did I mention... we´re together now only 21 years.
They left the dog at home, cause the poor one would soooo love to play with all the colorful stuff we have, MIL said. A boxer, in our small condo playing? Uahhhh! Ups, sorry about that. People either lock their dogs away when I visit or leave them at home when visiting us.

But they had heaps and heaps and heaps of pics to show of her... Reckon they don´t know I´d be a cat-person if I could.

Maybe one day I sneak in a cat-tattoo ;-)
